Topic: [299637] Ruby and Non-Ruby realms

[-299637] Coucy (US1) [None] :: Feb. 12, 2016, 5:45 p.m.
I do not like buying rubies but I feel that it is a necessity in this game for self-preservation.  I've only been playing less than a year and I see time and time again where someone is attacked by multiple 90/90 commanders with unbelievable other bonuses leading armies of demon troops and loaded to the max with ruby tools.

Non ruby buyers either burn or quit.

GGE needs to make money; I get that.  So here's my proposition for anyone who would listen.

Have two realms.  One for players who buy rubies and one for players who don't.  As soon as a ruby purchase is made, that player is placed in the 'ruby realm'.  All non-ruby buyers play in the 'non-ruby' realm but pay a SMALL fee every month to keep their accounts active.  Notice I said SMALL FEE :-)

IMO, the purchase of rubies tilts the playing field in the direction of the buyer, and the more money spent the more advantage is gained.  There are many cunning and skilled ruby buyers out there but for the majority, strategy and careful building/planning go out the window in such circumstances.  It makes the game less 'pure' (for lack of a better term).

Thanks for listening.

That whole system wouldn't work. I can see what you mean, but if you spend rubies, your torn from your alliance of non-buyers in an instant. The whole point people don't buy rubies is that they're playing the game for free then. It would be a better idea if there was a charity event were so-and-so funds go to so-and-so charity. I would buy rubies then.

it's the scale of imbalance that GGE is selling that is FUBAR.   give the whales  a small advantage is ok...but someone bringing nuclear weapons to a knife fight ruins the game balance.

There isn't really any other way of having it as far as I can see to be honest, it makes sense for GGS to make people more powerful the more they buy, otherwise the players that buy loads and loads of rubies just wouldn't have any way of progressing their ruby spend which GGS wants them to do.

but your saying non buyers have to pay a small fee so what's the point as you pay for keeping your account active you might as well pay for rubies? so what is your idea its terrible some people may play it for the free to play part emphasis on free

Veteran banners have always been available, and I haven't spent a single ruby on my Hall, Lv 215 so far

I get by, 2.5 mil loot a week at the moment, in the best independent alliance on the server, I have 90/90 coms  with good gems, Defend with armourer/Ruby tools and usually finish top 10 at events (sam, Nomad, Beri), I've won several nobility contests and will usually finish top 50. I've never bought rubies, Its not that hard if you've got a strategic mind set, good with people (friends are the most important part of this game) and are willing to spend the time it takes then buying rubies is not a necessity.

 I would also like to add that I do pretty well without buying rubies.

My HoL is nearly at 200. I do well in events. Have pretty decent comms and casts. My loot is a minimum of 15M weekly. Coming top 100 in events in the level 70 category is difficult without rubies, but I manage it more often than not.

So whilst ruby players may have an advantage, being a non-ruby play doesn't cripple you. You can do just as well. If you aren't, you just need to play better. There is always room for improvement in this game, so everyone has a fair chance of getting better at it.  :)
