*** First of all let me explain that I've been playing for a while. Please don't assume I'm using dumb attack methods, no tools etc. I do know what I'm doing ;) ***

Can anyone tell me why, when I clearly have way more than enough attack strength, and have irrefutably negated all of the enemy's defence bonuses, I still get killed/injured troops?

Put another way, does anyone have knowledge of the deeper combat mechanics of the game, that might explain?

Thanks in advance.

How many die?
If it's a little bit that's expected,but
If it's a lot I have no idea whats wrong

The answer is, no, not many, but I'm wondering why any die, when all defence bonuses have been negated, and each of your troops is more powerful than the equivalent defender.

so you have 100 attackers with 200 attack power each vs so 100 defender with 100 defence power each, that would be 20k vs 10k so you would lose 50% of you attackes

Hmmm...that's feasible I guess, but I'm not sure that's how it works. Maybe! Thanks for the reply

Ah okay...It could be a glitch...or maybe what bobjoerock said

Thats because you can´t totally anulate the meele soldiers force on the castle walls, you only can anulate completly the long range ones.
in the end the meele soldiers have defence against even the long range attackers, though if its much smaller than the defensive power of the defensive archers against offensive archers. In conclusion... you will always lose soldiers against meele defenders on the walls, because you can´t anulate their base defensive points, only can prevent them to gain more power anulating the force of the walls, gate and the the pit.
hope it helped

p.s.- ofc your loses after are calculated on the % of your power of attack against the defensive power.
example you have 300 points of atacking power using 100 long range attackers and anulated all the long range defenders , but he has 100 meele defenders that against normal soldiers defend more or less 45% against long range... of those 100 long range attackers u will lose kinda 45%= 45 soldiers (assuming you anulated the pit and walls force) of them on that wave, because the base defensive force of the meele against long range can´t be anulated
