I'm hoping that perhaps we might be able to get a bit more information about the Battle of Empires.
As I read it at present players are being asked to spend money over the Easter period to pay for another player to go on holiday to Hamburg.
It might be quicker to just set up a holiday fund and an account on Just Giving for donations.
At this point not sure why I would make the effort to play given their looks to be only one winner from thousands who play GGE. A lottery ticket at a couple of pounds is significantly cheaper and would offer better odds for most players. Lets be honest it will be impossible for almost all bar 0.000001% of players and not even UK super players are daft enough to try and compete with Russians and the Saudi players we all still remember the FI scores and exactly how far ahead they were.
I might of course have misunderstood but on basis of information given I can see no value in participating.

British Airways currently offering each way flights at £43

I was saving it for tomorrow, but I'll pop up an announcement about it shortly. Hopefully it's something you guys can get excited about!
The visit is just for the most successful player, it's nothing to do with the event as a whole. The main prize will be distributed to every single player if you guys reach the Glory goal. The basic concept is earn Glory across all servers = gain prizes for everyone.

The fact it's actually cheaper to fly to hamburg than play for a day does really illustrate current problems with the game in a nutshell always helpful to flag that up for your players. Are we sure Gerard Ratner isn't currently employed in the marketing department?

So basically it's another alliance tournament right after this alliance tournament allowing us the privilege to get hit by players buying an endless stream of troops we can no longer afford or recruit at any reasonable speed who we can't now hit back because they've bought or been gifted by GGE so much equipment that we can't buy enough tools to get anywhere near over their walls. Take out those advantages give us a level playing field no hero's, no gems, no super troops or pretty tools and let us get back to basics using the same troops and castle set so we can which players stripped back to basics do best same budget for everyone that would be an event that would excite me. Two alliance tournaments in a row scares me frankly, I can't afford it at your prices is option B the foreign invasion where I only get hit once still on the table?
We giving your more money for prizes we don't now need or want to lose to players who lack any sort of skill but have bigger budgets really isn't fun anymore. And honestly this isn't enough to undo the damage you've done.
Deal with the multi-accounts, password sharing openly and transparently and uphold your contractual obligations, standards you set for yourself but fail to demonstrate even a vague adherence to and the game may be worth time and investment as it is I have no confidence in playing on a level playing field after you effectively condone opportunism and in my view cheating to determent of honest and loyal players and see no value in propping up a system which refuses to change.

With this huge server clean up, they are doing like emperor Nero did in past by setting fire to Rome, cause he just wanted a new Rome..
Seems GGS wants to clean up what is "inconvenient" for them also.. To make a new beginning..
It is just every upcoming idea more stupid than the others before. Always full of unmeasured Mistakes!
Seems like a fools contest, to come with the most sad and unthinkable, without using their brains.
Some say GGS is ruled and manage by kids, but no! Kids have smarter ideas of events and nowadays can easily deal with programs without any problem!
So it is ruled by foolish that only think in £.
Handy kit for regular player to survive this event (if it is like it seems a stupid prolonged in time camouflaged alliance tournament):
- do not have defense troops in any of your castles (without defense troops attackers would not get any glory.. so this way you are not feeding ruby whales with easy glory in defenseless attacks)
(better see your defense troops killed by yourself, than see them feeding others in senseless battles)
(here you can have some fires, but whatever you can live with that)
(do not forget to use up all your resources in castle upgrades, send to other kingdooms, give to alliance, or just use them to make tools of defense and attack that consume a lot of resources.. this time is a good time to re-tool also for other events)
(of coarse you can have attack troops, but only enough for your daily tasks... they wont give much glory if they anyhow are caught by attackers.. and when you log off just send them far away until you return.. distant tower or whatever..)
This way, you do not feed this insane Money Making Machine with loot and Glory.
This the only way to boycott this stupid and sad event!
With the money he/she will spend for putting others on fire would it be enough for several 1st class trips to Hamburg and back with stays in most expensive places..
