Is the cow supposed to trigger something because it gets highlighted when I hover over it or is it just there for cosmetic purposes?

You get an achievement when you defeat it

Clear the bridge, then click on it, you then attack the cow tower, and get 77 talismans from it as I recall, the most talismans you can get from a tower, you also get a secret achivement. for 30 points.

I don't remember getting any talismans for the cow.
