This has been bothering me for a while.
Within the terms of service, it states the minimum age to play the company's games is 13.
And yet there is gambling within the game, the wheel of fortune as a prime example, you gamble your tickets, sure you always get a reward, but that does not mean its not gambling, if your not convinced, then what about the word cup?
If you don't know, in the last football world cup, an event came along where you could bet rubies on the winning team for certain matches, just like any other gambling shop. rubies are money like chips in a casino is money, and there was nothing to stop anyone underage from betting, In order to gamble on line you must be 18 years old or over. That is the law.
Not to mention the offers we get giving us an x% bonus, which is clearly not true in some cases, false advertising is also illegal.

Thoughts?

The World Cup I don't think you bet rubies, I only remember the thing on facebook, where you voted for the team you thought was going to win by liking the comment that had that countries name

Its comes under Social Gaming which does not has a governing body .

Only things that have taken place in research which you can find easily via a quick google search.Which early indication shows it promotes gambling to younger people who go on to gamble for real later in life.

Believe me I tried to bring up the same thing with the gambling commission - Its a slight loop hole.
The difference which is the slightest it is ... When you buy rubies they can be used on different things which have nothing to do with gambling.

On the world cup thing - you bet on the winner team - but wasn't it free ? There was no loser involved?

The false advertising is a massive issue within the game , This does break UK law. Iv have posted this countless times.
But it would cost you a bit of money to get the ball rolling on something that they would be only obliged to refund.
As it would be down to a system fault.

the % are totally broke within the game

I'm 99% sure there was a world cup thing outside the castle, you could bet 5k rubies on each team or something, and if you bet on the wrong wrong you won nothing i'm pretty sure. Maybe @CM Arcanine can remember

Well there we go then.

Hey @Carnifex (GB1) ,

Cheers for the concern, but don't worry, everything in the game is totally legal. It's not actually gambling, as there's always a reward. The World Cup event that we ran in-game didn't cause you to lose anything either, which is why that was not gambling too. You'd always either gain something or be back to where you were beforehand, no losses.

Regarding 'false advertising', this isn't something to be concerned about either. Our '%' offers are determined by our balancing team. They can change, sure, but the values of in-game objects are ours to control.

Hope this clears things up,

Steve.

No I am not convinced by what you say about false advertising, there are plenty of offers that do not look right or make sense, Even Breor says it in his tutorials that you recommend.
So you say they are determined by the balancing team. Do you have a price for a certain item but then sell it for more, or do you always sell items for exactly what its worth?

Also been over a week and still no getting round to by price of horrors in kingdom res thread. :3 Surely you got through a week of comments by now.
