I'd just keep it at 2. If you are worried about being hit overnight, take you troops to an L1 RBC. I usually do that right when I getting ready to go to bed, and they are safe and sound. 1 L1 RBC can hold 39 soldiers to attack. (equipment can change that, examples for 2 of my 9 commanders: Commander "Isabella" can do 45, while "Vanessa" can do 42 at once.)
