Topic: [389861] Law of diminishing returns

Hi all!!

Most of us know about the law of diminishing returns and its effect on food production, or any resource production for that matter, especially with the following equation:

± ( 2 * √ X ) + 100 = %PO

However, when we put in decorations, is there a point where a player can tell when the diminishing return and thus negative return starts to kick in or take effect? If so, is there a way of actually being able to forecast it via Microsoft Excel?

What I mean id that, once everything before the decos have been added up, then we add the decos with the same public order, is there a way to find out when the negative effect kicks in i.e. the amount of food produced becomes less. I have done a sort of test in beri where you can add drill grounds and the more you put in, the more you need just to add 1% to the morale for example.

@Herveus (AU1)can actually or @Poseidon help with their analytical brains.

Thanks everyone and have a great evening!!!

I asked around about this and here is what was said....with everything except apiaries maxed out, the number of granaries is 8,  any more than that and the granaries only produce 12% or less which is not worth it. Ops may have up to 10 granaries. Advantage with PO starts to taper off after 700%. I hope this helps.

The blue bars indicate the expected productivity from public order with the public order from the decorative items on the X axis, the productivity on the left Y axis. The effectiveness is calculated by dividing the productivity by the required public order. This is 0.007 at 100_000 public order, 0.006 at 140_000, 0.005 at 180_000, then 0.004 at 240_00.
Ater that  the decline in effectiveness is very small.

Thank you for your [email protected] Here is something I did a few years ago to try and explain to my alliance how food production is affected, and how that putting too many of the same deco can actually be detrimental and reduce the food production per deco added. Although having loads of the same deco makes the castles look nice, sometimes you just have to add other decos that are superior to those other decos to try and redress the defecit in food production:

Using all the same deco has no negative effect.

I should have worded it differently. What I mean is that for each deco added after a certain number, its effectiveness is reduced by fractions. It will eventually level off.
