I don't see any problem with what you're doing, you should play how you like to play.  Whether in or out of the war.
But I admit I got a laugh out of your post, it depends on how you look at 'buying troops.'  This is a fun exercise in how people view things:

The only real purchase you make is when you spend your dollars.  And for those dollars, you got troops.  I suppose you also got some rubies and a smattering of tools/pennies/tickets (yes, some sarcasm there, lol).  Basically a 200% sale came up and you bought a metric ton of horror and demon troops, rubies, and other shinies.

Some might be thinking that "buying troops" is what happens when you exchange rubies for them.  Nah, that's not really you 'buying' anything, that's simply an in-game event where you're trading pixels for other pixels.  Just like turning in 81k wood for a bunch of piggies.  No real money has changed hands.  It's why GGE has so much leeway with how they address issues that occur within the game.

Now, if you obtained your troops by using the rubies you already had.... then you'd technically be in a better position to say you didn't "buy" the troops, you bought rubies and later simply made pixel exchanges for troops.

There you go, a pointless & semantic (but eye-opening) account of Manatee being annoying.

Btw, Temprance, you contradicted yourself. 

Free speech isn't free speech when there are limitations. 

What we have here is freedom of speech. 

Kinda like we do in the US, where folks think they have free speech, but in reality there are a whole lot of regulations on it. 

I can see how folks get it confused, since we all grow up thinking we can basically say anything we want, and be totally unaware of the major hand of the law that can smack us around if it so chooses. 

The real division of course is the freedom of expression we have here, i.e. how Matt used a meme to express how he feels through media.  Although it had words on it, they weren't his words, and the image helped voice his point. 

The thing I find the weirdest about this place, is that freedom of expression is usually the more limited of the two in a lot of societies.  But, here, on the forums, it seems that what people say is being more limited or edited, but they can basically post any media they want. 

I have always wondered how the game would be, if we could have court/military tribunals on the forums that would stick to inside the game.

Here's an idea, worry about how you play the game and less about how others choose to play.  I do not care for "popularity points" as it means nothing to me.  Never once did I say I left the war because of money!  Who really gives AF why I left.  Enjoy your game as I enjoy mine.

You playing the game as you want to isn't the problem I have, is the fact that you and many other DT players that left the war say they are doing it to save money and time, yet spend MORE of it on the game... I would have rather you said you just don't enjoy the war anymore or you are chickening out or something, not a freaking lie. Lets not all be Clintons now...

Actually he, and quite a few that left did tell us why they were leaving but then it never was reflected in their loot rankings etc. I'm not saying that they cant do whatever they want to do, but you can just say you're done with it/the war etc. No one needs to make excuses for how they play the game, and I think that's the point some were trying to make. Go if ya wanna.. stay if ya wanna.. Sometimes I think that people make excuses to make themselves feel better about it. 

Example. When I took my vacation a few weeks ago.. to spend time with friends etc.. or when my mom was in the hospital and I stayed with her to help her for a few months, since I was actually spending time with her, my loot/game time/event ranks didn't soar higher... they were much much lower because I was doing what I said I was doing.

So my shortened version is, sorry you feel the way you do and believe I spoke ill of you, when I have not. You are not worth my time and I seldom think of you except when you act out as such. If you can prove I said anything, bu all means, show me how I have deserved such behavior from you. I expected more from a grown man, but I learned that is not usually the case here. I pity you, I do, clearly something is lacking in your personal life for you to act as such on a game, but honey, that is your problem and not mine. If you wish to be salty, by all means. Salt the Earth. It seems your ears are being filled with poison, but so be it. I am fine with you playing as a puppet. It doesn't stop me from going on and enjoying the game because, after all, this is a game. It's a pity some of you do not realize that, but again, that is not on me. 

I hope you have a much better, and happier, real life than I suspect you do. You are clearly trying to over-compensate for something.
