Topic: [320344] D.G.A.F IS IN MOURNING FOR A LOST MEMBER WHO DIED SERVING THE USA

It always amazes me how profound an effect we can have on each other.  We all come here for various reasons,  but  I think so many of us are blessed by the amazing people we've met here.
Its with great saddness that i let you all know, our dear friend OhRyan passed away in the line of duty serving this country. I passed our condolences and prayers on to the family.
I told his daughter we wished to honor his memory.  She said,
"You can honor him by standing up when you hear the National Anthem.  He died for freedom."
We will not forget.

PLEASE CHANGE FLAGS TO BLACK FOR DGAF AND A GOOD MAN

Sorry for the loss of your friend. Bless him for his service to all of us enjoying our freedoms, even the ignorant ungrateful people out there who have the freedom of not showing respect for his sacrifice.

When I first played alongside him I actually thought he picked his game name to mean 'Oh Ryan!' because a female teammate said it to him from time to time.  It made me laugh, and the joke was on me.  It was simply a play on his surname O'Ryan.  He was quick to explain it in a very matter-of-fact way.....

Nothing but good memories here.  That is all any of us can ask for.

Until we meet in other castles......
Sss

There has been such an outpouring of support.  Thank you so much for helping us honor his memory and sacrifice. I wanted you all to know, I have passed all of this on to his family.

We will stand when we hear the National Anthem.  We will remember the man we knew and the sacrifice he made for freedom.  We will not forget.

Would you please tell us more about OhRyan so we could appreciate him and his sacrifice for us even more?  His service branch, rank, where he was stationed, the circumstances of his leaving this realm?

I have no idea ho I insulted anyone asking that question but I am sorry to all I have offended.

I am sorry for your loss guys, I am thankful that he served our country and I am sorry he had to die.
I am proud to be an American.

"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived."
-General George S. Patton

It's not that I disagree with the quote, but when you're making a case for not being a dick and you put in a quote dissing the thread title... well, the sincerity is somewhat lessened imo.
I like what you said president_ro, thank you.

cupcake, I think president_ro was trying to say people can be thankful for his life and the sacrifice he made.  I don't think he meant anyone was foolish.
