Topic: [325472] Boosters gonna boost...so why not share in their fun?

Understood.  But there is a reason nobody in GK main has ever been accused of boosting.  We're way too visible during the tourney hitting everything and everyone.  The server knows, lol.
And given how vocal we are about not boosting, you can bet the scrutiny on us is super high.  Hell, we even go after other alliances to find their boosted castles.  Puts us in quite the pickle now, doesn't it?
So I see what you're saying, but it's legit.  Our biggest problem right now is not convincing you... it's keeping our own members from being depressed thinking that all their hard work is undermined by people thinking they did it the way Bad Company does it.  We need them to keep hitting, keep pushing, and get us those nice level 11 gems.  We don't always go for  placement rank, but when we do, we try hard.

 is Grumpy Hitmen boosting?

When the family leader (Jimbo6) identifies and puts a stop to something and it continues, you have a lot more to worry about than what outside alliances think.  So yeah I'd say it has stopped for sure.  We don't condone it, don't allow it, and if we find it happening we'll stop it.

Otherwise our word doesn't mean anything.

(P.S. I'm still of the opinion that I don't care if small alliances do it as their means of getting the event completed.  It's their deal to do that and I'm not interested in policing or shaming them.  It's when they try ranking (in direct competition with other alliances not scheming) that I have problems.  Whether it be our family or not.  So if there are small alliances out there doing this just to get their event rewards, I'm not a gge-nanny about that.)

Is camelot beasts considered a small alliance?

You're mostly level 70s with some good players in there, so nah you're not small lol.  But that's not exactly what I meant.

I mostly meant there are alliances out there too weak to finish the event.  But they still have a few hard working, loyal members there who want to help the alliance out by making sure they all get the feathers, gems, skips, troops etc. But they can't do it by themselves, right?  So if they're going to set something up to get everyone their rewards, and it's not against the ToS, I don't see how someone like me in a powerful alliance has a moral high ground to say they can't do it when it's not negatively affecting me.

And if I take that position, I kind of have to look the other way to larger alliances that do it too.

I draw my line at doing those set-up things to place in the rankings, where it DOES affect other alliances who are doing it the legitimate way.  Just my own opinion as an individual, but it does seem to be a pretty common one.

You got all your ranged set up on the walls for me with the firecasty, Bro?

I feel for you guys if you ran up over 8M legit just to get kicked in the jimmy by your sub obviously boosting. I hit hard up until a cpl events ago, just ruins the competitiveness of the event when you know others are boosting. The hardest part of the event is finding a decent target that doesn't open gates on you. We still have some in FU that are trying hard, they just like to light people up anyways lol, but most of us are just tired of this event and the worthless banter about boosting. I personally wont put much effort in until GGE finally takes some of our suggestions into account and improves the event.

Congrats on the lead, and over 8M the first day is possible, but targets have been getting slimmer and slimmer. Be careful you don't have a cpl rogue players boosting in your main alliance as well, easy to tell, just look at your top glory players for the day in your alliance list. You see a player with 1,2,3M glory for the day that never shared a report they may be boosting behind your back as well.

Also agree with manatee about alliances outside top 20, don't give 2 chits if they are boosting to get alliance prizes, this is about the competition between top alliances and the absurdity of recruiting hundreds of thousands of D just to knock em down in setup hits.

I think most people know that our glory in the main is legit, and those that know me know that I stand by my word.  For the rest of you, keep on trolling....
Thank you for sharing your stance sir.  As per the trolling, will do.

I welcome it if he wants to have a go but he has to double his points to catch me and doing that doesn't seem like something most people would want to do

tbh I expected to get passed after the first day or 2 but I've kept on trucking and here I am

probably won't win one again lol

but I'll like that level 12 for my highlander ;)

Thanks for the substantive comment DHDF22.  As you can tell this has really bothered us.  I've inserted my comments in bold italics below because GGE forum quoting system is buggy right now, lol.

It's tough for us every event, competing with people who either 1) just kept buying troops or 2) did things the BC way.  But what's hardest for us isn't the targets, it's the morale hit after having worked so hard out of the gate.

If a target is active, or it's for glory, they have to forward it.  It's easy to know when someone doesn't forward one, you just sort your roster by glory earned that day. We don't do that just for kicks, it's the tradeoff we make people do for not requiring everyone to get pre-approval on their hits (which we used to do).  Actually, the last time I recall us having an issue with someone not forwarding a report was with me asking for one just over two years ago when VKT was visiting and he accidentally deleted his 1M glory hit.

We still have some in FU that are trying hard, they just like to light people up anyways lol, but most of us are just tired of this event and the worthless banter about boosting. I personally wont put much effort in until GGE finally takes some of our suggestions into account and improves the event.

We felt that way last time during the BC stuff.  This time we figured the same would happen, and said we'd expect a top 5 showing.  When we started out so strong though, it just kept everyone motivated.  We kept expecting the other shoe to drop... some alliance to surge up to 20M or so on boosted hits but that hasn't happened yet.

Congrats on the lead, and over 8M the first day is possible, but targets have been getting slimmer and slimmer. Be careful you don't have a cpl rogue players boosting in your main alliance as well, easy to tell, just look at your top glory players for the day in your alliance list. Correct :)  That's how we keep tabs.  It's soooo easy to tell.  To be honest, I think the question in the future will come in this form:  We've been actively searching for troop farms the other alliances are using, and knocking them out.  At some point it might get hard to distinguish who purposefully sets one up and tries to disguise it as a "found" setup.  That one worries me down the road.

The other worry, is that just as we've done what I said above, our own sub would become similar prey if others see they've done a setup.  Jimbo knew this and stomped that activity right away when he found out, but we still have to eat some crow.

Also agree with manatee about alliances outside top 20, don't give 2 chits if they are boosting to get alliance prizes, this is about the competition between top alliances and the absurdity of recruiting hundreds of thousands of D just to knock em down in setup hits.

Yep, we need GGE to find some solution for this.  Thanks for the well thought-out post.

We're currently putting different pictures in front of him to see what Jimbo looks like horny, but I'm pretty sure it'll still be

To be honest I don't give 2 chits what our subs do. I personally would rather be in a strong alliance with no subs and no naa's/pacts and just have fun playing the game without the politics.

When I shared what we found earlier I honestly thought GK main and sub were using that spot for glory hits since you guys were 1-2 in standings with a big lead less than 12 hours in. You guys saying you didn't I believe you, a strong alliance all hitting can run up plenty of glory, we have done it too, hate to be questioned when its done legit.

Also reason for sharing was for laughs at how obvious putting the Storm cloud over another sub of same alliance. We got good laughs from it LOL

I like how some of you talk about all this boosting stuff, how it's unfair and stuff, but don't do anything about it. Last AT event, there was some kind of 'compromise' to punish boosting alliances, yet nothing happen. DT just got lucky b/c VKT decided to color outside the lines, and were able to semi punish BC for glory boosting.

If yall are just gonna sit on the forums all day and argue back an forth why boosting is morally unethical, then i'm gonna start boosting just to make headlines. Til then, either do something or put your microscope back in your pants.

The "micro"scope isn't the only thing small in their pants.
