how is it a shitty topic? it's got the attention of the biggest alliances in the server and my inbox is 'sploding. I'm getting as many PMs with info as I am getting PMs of denial from alliances that haven't even been named.
here's what I don't get. you vehemently defend boosting but the boosters just as vehemently deny that they boost. how does that make sense? if it's your strategy then own it.

FU won the last event without boosting. We paid close attention to leaderboard once we ran up a nice lead to see if any alliance tried to catch us by jumping leaps and bounds, NAA/Pact?or even a Sub woulda been declared on. I'm not quite sure if we are all gung ho enough to try again this event, but I like the idea of the top servers on the alliance declaring on obvious infractions, we have actually discussed this internally for the past few events, not sure if leaders of different alliances have talked it out at all. I really cant believe GGE hasnt adjusted this event yet to be honest, wouldnt take much.

Agreed, I like the idea of having a collective of the top alliancesDHDF22 (US1) said:I like the idea of the top servers on the alliance declaring on obvious infractions, we have actually discussed this internally for the past few events, not sure if leaders of different alliances have talked it out at all. Relax, Im not talking about policing the server, just deterring glory farming during one event until GGE makes changes. Its a glory tourney anyways, why not declare on suspected boosters, more targets that way lol.

See I liked DanielBannister's idea on limiting the amount of glory each hit could count towards on the event..
Like capping it out at 200k for one hit on the tourney score, but still allowing the player to have the full glory
It would make it a lot more fair, and also the boosters owuld have to spend more flags and troops on more hits to win..

yup, would seem a reasonable compromise. now just need GGE to roll with it.

Yeah but i think the glory limit should be raised to 3 million to make it fair, not 200k.just_jan (US1) said:grey foxhound (US1) said:See I liked DanielBannister's idea on limiting the amount of glory each hit could count towards on the event..

I like the 200k cap idea on glory towards the alliance tourney, or similar cap, but
the player keeps their full glory and benefits from their personal glory
monument and glory boosters they have. I'm not a proponent of the
"boosting". I've read through the whole thread and agree it's a
strategy, but a strategy of exploitation, the exploitation of one's
(family of alliances) own resources. I'm curious to see what other
steps could be made to satisfy those of us who aren't in favor of
boosting.

I would agree if I couldn't get 200k-900k glory hits legitimately. Would hate to get a real stellar hit taking out 8k defenders with a bunch of flags, just so the majority of the glory doesn't even count.grey foxhound (US1) said:See I liked DanielBannister's idea on limiting the amount of glory each hit could count towards on the event..

I think maybe 500k would make a fairer limit, as rare as the hits are, there are legitimate hits like that, and I have seen them
I've done ones myself that would have pulled that much on a few occasions, but I never send glory tools except in first wave, and rarely ever send banners, too many people use firecasts for it to be worth using them on non-npcs
But the fact of the matter is its still possible to pull a fair amount of glory from a legitimate hit, I'm not sure how much the boosters get but I'm guessing its in the realm of 1.5-2m, since I've seen reports on lords hit over 1m

Nah if you put it at 200k I'd just find the optimum number of flags/troops I need for 200k glory.
I mean boosters would do that
It's difficult for me to pick a side in this because I agree with part of Cov's argument and partly with the people against boosting. It is smart to boost, theres no rules against it aside from big alliances now trying to regulate which I find funny that the biggest alliance has boosted the **it out of AT but is now against it not...that I'm complaining. If Kon boost would any of y'all do **** about it. lol.
Anyways to get back on track my thesis is I think you shouldn't boost because it's not nice to people who put in hard work actually hitting. Just do the right thing, you shouldn't need regulations from the gge to have you play right. At least now it seems a lot less people are boosting than there were initially so you should be able to compete without it.

I still think best strategy is going to a point based system for Alliance tourney rankings similar to the monthly points we get.(1pt for 1k-9k glory, 5 pts for 10-50k, etc) It will promote more good hits rather than a cpl monster hits. A minimum of 1k glory or something keeps people from constantly hitting empty farms. People will still find angles and ways to cheat the system, but it wont be so dramatic.
Also mentioned before were ways to award players for defending. Awards ,etc. but especially glory. Glory for wiping out a 2500 attack army is pathetic. If a smaller alliance could put up big points by supporting each other in defense we wouldn't see as many open gates or fire casts.
This has all been brought up many times before, who knows if GGE has taken note. Hopefully they've just been busy with these end of the year updates, maybe this stuff is on the back burner.

It's a repeat cause that's a 2 month old screen shot LOL. I remember this round cause Morry came out swinging early and was pissed when these guys started boosting. I'm sure the usual suspects do it over and over but this is a glory contest leaderboard, hasn't been one of them since this AT started. GGE should run daily glory contests during AT though, would be an easy way to see which players get millions of glory outta nowhereψ Sadness ψ (US1) said:LOL THOSE ARE REPEAT OFFENDERS TOO!Deadly Tenebris (US1) said:Here are some alliances you can start with, Tempus:Tempus (US1) said:All proven boosting alliances will be declared on by us.
