My computer is succumbing to Windows 10 upgrade glitches, and also dying down in general (6 years old).
I am going to need a new one, and I want to be able to play Fallout 4 when I do.
I'll also need the computer to play movies reliably, as well as do work (MS Office mostly).
Any people with advice in this are?
I want to stay under $1,000 if I can.
Is there a good place to get a reliable computer using a good graphics card (geforce 970) and processor (i7 over 3.5 GHz not overclocked)? It would need Windows 10 and budget left over for MS Office. Or is that not realistic?
I could try building one, but I've not done that before. I have a CoolerMaster HAF X case, and an SSD, but I'd need to replace the motherboard and pretty much all else. Might be too much risk trying to build my own.

Building a computer would be your best option, at least in my opinion, it would be a little harder to find what you want within your budget than just building a computer.
If you're going to build a computer it is not hard, just a matter of doing research, you have the graphics card and what not,

That is a VERY good set up, a little over budget but the graphics card he used costs like 500 dollars and you also have your processor so it should stay somewhat under the $1,000 mark, and there are a lot of add-ons that are not necessary so you should like I said before stay under the $1,000 mark.
Hope I helped

Forgot to mention if you go to this video on Youtube in his description he has links to everything in his description.

I do not have the graphics card or processor. What I meant was I'd like to make a build that included those two items but I don't think there's much I can do for under $1,000 if it's also going to have some software and a decent memory.
Going to do some searching. I've been using PCpartspicker to get some ideas too.
Heck, a friend of mine got stuff for good deals on ebay, built his for about $700.
Just do a lot of research before you do.
I already have a CoolerMaster HAF X case with a Corsair power supply, and a 128GB ssd.
I'll just start researching which motherboard is best for those, and I'll get the next parts from there.
I would've agreed until he said fallout 4. They have some wicked mods on PC that us console gamers will never get to see unfortunately.Molson Beer (US1) said:NERRRRRRRRRDDDD

I've learned more about computer components in the past couple weeks than I had known in the past ten years. Go back to your igloo and stop being jealous, Molson!!!

I have my new computer, just need to upgrade the case fans (and maybe cpu fan?) and get a nice monitor.
Figured I'd ask a few questions on here in case any computer-knowledgeable people want to help me out

Fans:
1. What 120mm case fans have you guys found to be decent ones for airflow and low noise? Trying to keep each fan below $25.
2. For cpu fans... is a coolermaster evo 212 fan good enough for an i7 6700k cpu if it's not overclocked? Asking because I already have it and it would be nice not to have to spend for something better.
Monitor:
I don't do FPS games much. Mostly looking for the viewing experience of a game, and to watch a movie here and there when the T.V. is otherwise occupied.
Been looking at the Asus VS239h-p. Any other monitors below $200 I should consider? I prefer an IPS panel not over 5ms refresh time, and under 27".
Ciao!
