I have read The Silmarillion. Its much more difficult to read than the hobbit or lord of the rings. Its an excellent book though.

Why did they just fly the birds over the volcano with the fricken ring in the first place? Like that would have made a lot more sense, and Frodo wouldnt have lost a finger...
