It is a popular misnotion that Nephilim has come to mean that angels or fallen angels have mingled with women on earth to reproduce hybrid offsprings resulting in them being giants as said giants are called to be the Nephilim.
You will not find that word in the King James Version or the KJV;
Genesis 6:4There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. KJV
But in other modern Bibles, you may see the term like in the New International Version or the NIV;
Genesis 6:The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.
It is a common held assumption even among Christians that angels or even fallen angels can mingle with mankind due to false books not included in the Bible such as the Books of Enoch. From those false books, they read the falsehood of the Books of Enoch into the Book of Jude which is in the Bible, reading in between the lines as if the angels that have not kept their first estate were the ones mingling with the daughters of men.
Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
Hardly anyone should read that false notion of the Books of Enoch into the Book of Jude like that, but they do, even if it is wrong.
The KJV Bible can prove it too as to why they should not read the Books of Enoch into Jude like that and just plain consider the Books of Enoch as fake books, plagiarize to make it look authentic. ( If you consider that Enoch was before the flood, hardly any writings from him would survive as being written by his own hand and certainly not something divinely inspired by Moses to write as if he would write it as being written by Enoch himself. )
Jesus removes all doubts about angels, let alone fallen angels being able to mingle with mankind.
Matthew 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Luke recounts more of what Jesus has said & meant to clarify the truth.
Luke 20:34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: 35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: 36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
Once God sets the order of things, no angel nor fallen angel can change it without His permission. Only kinds can reproduce after their kind.
Genesis 1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. 21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. 23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. 24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Just as God is the One joining a man & a woman in holy matrimony for any woman to be called a wife in His words.

So the phrase "sons of God" are not angels nor fallen angels but referring to the family tree that Israel is from. That is the whole point of that reference as sons of God are the roots of the family tree of Israel as a branch that stemmed off of Seth, a godly lineage in the times before the flood before most of his family decided to marry outside the family line which had produced the giants & men of renown in the earth, but they were still men.
The Hebrew word "ben" for "sons" is meaning builder of the family line. So the sons of God were of Israel before Jesus came along and changed the family tree on how any one becomes one of the sons of God these days.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
So now any sinner can become a son of God by believing in Jesus Christ as their Savior, and by trusting Him as their Good Shepherd is how any one can get to know Him and the power of His resurrection when sin has no more dominion over their lives as they find themselves living that reconciled relationship with God through Jesus Christ by the grace of God.
2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
So anyway, Nephilim is just a word for giants, but they were still of mankind just as sons of God were of the godly lineage of Seth, son of Adam, the ancestor of Israel's family tree.

This is very true though, I have known this for quite some time but I never could find the words to go into such depth, tbh I am more a blunt person.
Neph were once giants, but they have shrunk in their old age and have become dwarfs.
