It would work if the rope is not being stretched uniformly. So all the extension is taking place between the ant and the start and can be ignored. The ant takes 100 seconds to walk the meter.

The answer is that Yes, the ant would make it to the other end of the rope (eventually) because when the rope is stretched, it stretches along the entire length, including the part behind the ant. So as the ant progresses, more & more of the stretch will occur behind him.
OK who`s next? ^^

Bah, my answer was much better!
Less work for the ant too!
Two children, who were all tangled up in their reckoning of the days of the week, paused on their way to school to straighten matters out:
"When the day after tomorrow is yesterday," said one of them, "then 'today' will be as far from Sunday as that day was which was 'today' when the day before yesterday was tomorrow!"
On which day of the week did this puzzling prattle occur?

24th letter of alphabet, roman numeral and XXX
One family wants to get through a tunnel but they are all afraid of the dark. Dad can make it in 1 minute, mama in 2 minutes, son in 4 and daughter in 5 minutes. Unfortunately, not more than two persons can go through the narrow tunnel at one time, moving at the speed of the slower one.
They have a candle in a candle stick to light their way. If the candle burns at 1cm per minute, what is the minimum length the candle must be for them to attempt the trip?

7cm
If they break the candle into 2 pieces (5cm & 2cm) the kids take the 5cm one & the parents take the 2cm one.

Nice try Scissors but without the candlestick the hot wax drips onto their fingers, they drop the candle and it goes out. Mayhem and panic ensues!!!!!
and not 13 cm either, sorry Janette.

Hmm you didn`t say it was a stupid family LOL..... They couldn`t stick a 2cm candle to a stone with hot wax?... Or if they are in a world with no stones or anything else around, take off a shoe and stick it to the sole. :S
How about 8cm....so they have an extra 1cm to hold & they could push it through a leaf to cover their hand from the drips? .... Or does this world of no stones also have no leaves?

Calculation based on very stupid unimaginative family = 12cm
@ Mina.... Why were them kids going to school on sunday? 8|

Well 12 was the answer I was looking for Scissors but I feel that you have been very persuasive so I shall change my ruling and give you your original answer of 7 cm.:D
Your turn to set a riddle.

LOL John... As 12 was correct, all is well with the word of riddling.... Stupid scared families shouldn`t be playing in dark tunnels anyway hehe
There are nine identical spheres. All of them have the same weight except one which weighs less.
You have a physical balance and you have two chances to use it.
How will you determine which sphere weighs less?

I never said those kids were stars of their class, now did I?! :P
They got so caught up in their talk about the days that they didn't realize they were going to school on a Sunday!

Hm, I might have missed some finer details in this riddle because it doesn't quite make sense :P
How can one sphere be lighter than the others if all nine are identical? I thought identical included weight as well as appearance?
I also do not know how big the spheres are or how big the physical balance is.

They are identical except one has a lighter weight... In all other aspects they are indistinguishable from one another, even their parents couldn`t tell them apart...Unless they picked them up. ^^
The physical balance is as big or small as you want it to be..... Lets say (for the sake of clarity) that its big enough that you could put all 9 spheres on one side of it, if you wanted to.

Assuming the scales are the type with a pan on each side, put 3 spheres in each pan, if they balance, discard them. Put 2 of the remaining spheres, 1 on each pan, and if they balance the lighter 1 is left. If the 2 do not balance you can see which is lighter !

An onion?

What does he do?.......

Is that even a riddle, Scissiors?? Seems more like a moral dilemma.. ?(
Or am I making a fool out of myself now..?
(Gee, seems like I'm just able to contribute confusion to this thread today...
