Slightly off-topic question - why was the recent Tessa event only 3 days instead of the usual 5 days ?
In fact when it came on it said it was 2 days left. It's impossible to do the tasks given in that time (and I play 12 hrs a day) unless I choose the most easy.
What's going on ? Is this a permanent change ?
Thanks Vini
I agree. Everything is optional. Even play this game.bdreish (GB1) said:Please folks, just calm down a bit. It is an OPTIONAL extra to do the weekly events (in fact to do ANY event). Your farms wont disappear if you don't finish, and you are not forced to buy the end deco with gold if you fail to complete.
All the news ideas from GGS team are events that only can be completed spending a lot of time or using gold. Or both.
Themed events were the only ones that can be completed spending a reasonable time. Just until now.
I like to finish what I start. That motivates me.
When the farms are developed collect eggs / sell eggs is not a motivation but a routine. if I don't start the events because I cannot complete them, where is the option?
Really?? "OPTIONAL" ???qeni (ES1) said:I agree. Everything is optional. Even play this game.bdreish (GB1) said:Please folks, just calm down a bit. How does everyone easily get the attitude to "ADJUST" to mistakes??
I donated all my apples. 22K apples.
I could have sold them. I always keep doing some upgrade work in my farm, and I keep running out of cash every now and then.
These apples could have helped me a lot.
Now, they didnt. How could everyone easily get adjusted??

There is such a thing as informed choice. We were not given the information to allow us to make a choice. Had I known I would only have 3 days to complete this task I would not have picked level 6. A choice without enough information is not a real choice. This is unethical business practice by a company that knows it doesn't have to build customer loyalty because the co-ops mean that we are loyal to our co-ops and not to GoodGame.bdreish (GB1) said:Please folks, just calm down a bit. Agree with both quotes, in part. Playing the game is optional but we all play because we like the game, and yes the farm will not disappear if we do not complete an event. The game is here to make money for GGS and nothing else, the happiness of the players is only a very minor detail. Many players play Big Farm without entering onto the forum, they do not always know of the years old problems and shifting workings. Have you noticed how the friends thing is not mentioned anymore, simply because GGS wanted the most registered players so the games audit could classify GGS as the biggest on line game supplier in Germany Playing the game did not matter, just the registered player even those that joined the wrong servers and had to "join" again.. that counts as 2 registered players ( good little bug eh). GGS did this shortening of the event before, it is a test to see if more gold is sold/used during the event, if a lot of people use gold, they will do a short event again, if we do not use gold they will see it as a failure and go back to 6 days, obviously then stating that they listened to our comments. How many players have requested a "failsafe" are you sure , when using gold ? and have GGS given us one ... NO.. simply because they know people click by mistake thereby making money for GGS. .. waves at emmaEmma66 (GB1) said:There is such a thing as informed choice. I'm more a player then a reader, however
Ii was kind of irritated by the reduced time on the 'week' mission which is why i made a few posts about it and I think i pretty much read everything on the subject now and I am ending up with two questions;
First question;
GGS admits the reduced time was not announced. In my opinion that should mean 'hey we screwed up, shit happens but for this mission we will adjust the time back to normal, announce it for the next time if we intend to test". So why was this not done ? Please do not inform me this was a technical difficulty, any 10 year old kid could adjust the timer in less then 10 minutes.
Then the second question;
GGS is claiming the requirements for this mission have also been significantly reduced. Since i am a pretty lazy, gold spending s.o.a.b.. I never really checked the requirements, the amount of apples the amount of food to be produced at specific levels, however the amounts seemed much like usual to me and i have read several messages from others stating the requirements have not changed a bit. So here it come's ; is GGS lying through their teeth or are the requirements the same as usual (this is not any accusation, simply a question cuz like I said I am not sure).
I am trying to stay positive, but GGS is not making this easy. So i recommend anyone to be extremely careful for the next week mission, and if it is again three days, please mail your members not to play the mission. This really needs to be fixed, and it seems like if we do not take a massive stand together as paying users this is not likely to happen.

Lot of good things have been said here, many of them very eloquently, and more importantly not the first time at all. Again and again GGS is criticised for the same disrespect towards us players, yet never learn to do things right, never correct their mistakes on the spot, never offer satisfaction for their mistakes, never even PROPERLY apologise.
Yes, the change of single event from 6 to 3 days may be unimportant in overall schemes (if it was just isolated incident), yet one of the the main themes repeated again and again here is players losing even their little remaining trust in the game makers.because of the disrespectful way we as players are constantly treated by GGS staff. Will anybody finally listen and show us some respect, before the game is over for another multitude of us? ? ?
Anyways, on one hand I'm tempted to join in more vigorously, on the other hand getting rather tired of vain repetition of the same thing over and over to the deaf ears, just to hear lame excuses in return. So maybe just say: "Hey Latten, I pretty much agree with most of the criticism and dissatisfaction expressed at GGS" without delving into big details myself. Just count my voice in the bunch, but also be aware that once upon a time I thought this was a good game. Not any more, brother, not any more ....................

And quickly losing interest in anything connected with BF.

BRAVO.
And one of the most outrageous things is getting reprimanded for not being "polite" enough to GGS when complaining about this mess, when they themselves never feel the need to be respectful of the players. Instead of apologies, all we get from them is excuses and a shamefully cavalier attitude about everything like it's no big deal that we've been fooled once again and made to feel like idiots while, as you said, losing even more trust in GGS.
Question--did anyone notice how the roped off area that has all the events, trader guy, architecht, artist chick, etc.--has been completely empty all day? Not one car, truck or deal all day til now--the rune dude and trader floor dealer are back. What was up with that? More "testing"? Meh--at this point, I could care less. Probably preparing for the next big scheme, no doubt... Doesn't matter--whatever it is, it'll probably be something that I won't want to participate in anyway at this point. Oh--and now it's shutting down for the night for "maintenence". One can only wonder what wonderous "new and improved" things will appear tomorrow...
Okay...now there's an elephant in my organic market......???????????????? And all the organic farm people are walking around in my farm...plus there's a new hefty kid with cotton candy in the market. Whatever...
P.S. The amount of items required for this 3-day event wasn't reduced from the 6-day event--at least mine weren't--regardless of what may have been said. Plus I planted several cycles of crops trying to get the firewood and got nothing for 2 hours. Finally got 4 out of 31--took a day to get the rest of them. Really frustrating. It's sad that I don't even feel like ever playing another weekly event again--I used to really look forward to them, but no more. So disappointed.

Shhhh The event has ended and GGS lined their pockets so let's move on

Only halved the amount of product being honest .. Everything else is discrimination against players who want to level 6 event ends without gold.
If you take notice to "The Racing Farmer" that appears when you first log in. You will see that there is going to be 3 new buildings. I believe these will be drop rate boosters of sort. So we can finish the weekly events at what ever level with in the allotted time.Sergio_Canales (NL1) said:I cant believe I actually managed to finish this event. on the easiest level, but still. It was a photo finish, I think I had just 5min left. Unfortunately I had to spend ingame dollars to buy cabbage and corn due to misclicks. I had to start wheat production on two of my four fields six hours before the end of the event, but accidentally started producing on all four of my fieldsIt only cost me around 50k I believe. but I made it!!
We should have at least been given back the special seeds that we used to get as far as we did.

You can collect map pieces when harvesting and collecting on your main farm.........hmmmm, well uh, ummm, we forgot to mention EXCEPT for APPLES and CHERRIES!!!! Last 4 apple harvests and last couple cherry harvests....ZERO map pieces............ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH, Nary no none........... ???
