I've harvested my cherries and my apples this morning and haven't gotten a single cherry blossom!! UGH!!

I was planning on being done with the cherry blossoms this morning and moving to pigs. Guess that won't happen now. This event is over for me.

I thought you always got something from the apples and cherries since they take a long time.

Ouch Pmork--

there is 3 days still. Maybe you can put away a few lesser deco and build another apple orchard? I think with adding the 4th pig barn, it will help alot. And the cranes are coming like crazy fast out of the feed mill.

**I also don't do some of the other side tasks if I feel like I am falling behind a little. For example, If I get a side task for making pigfeed and I am completely out of chicken feed--I will make a full batch of chicken feed and once in awhile make more pigfeed.

In the last task of Mysterious Asia mission, 1500 origami cranes has to be collected. When the help is clicked it shows the chicken coop. But it doesn't give any of them. Do I have to wait for it to come at sudden or something wrong? ?(

[732528] gizmo22 (AU1) [AU1] :: Oct. 18, 2013, 9:21 p.m.
Worst stage of this event in my opinion is stage 5. I only have 2 pig stys (not a fan of the pig stys, waste of space) and it took me almost two days to supply them 36 times! The crane drops were more consistent this time round though so event complete with days to spare.......grrr stage 5!!!

[732529] gizmo22 (AU1) [AU1] :: Oct. 18, 2013, 9:25 p.m.
The origami cranes rarely come from the chicken coops. I have 7 coops on my farm and I was lucky to get 1, sometimes 2 cranes per harvest. The most reliable source of cranes is the mill, composter, and silo.

The silo, mill and humus gives most cranes. Make chicken feed in day, and cowfeed in night helps. It is an other tread her about it. http://en.board.goodgamestudios.com/bigfarm/showthread.php?69294-Asian-Event/page18

us1 farm is going super well with cranes--wow keep the feed mill going ;) Chicken feed and cowfeed both produced TONS of cranes. The composter and silo, I make small batches still, but they produce cranes everytime too. I should be about the same amount of time as the other times.

The Cranes do seem to drop in larger quantity and more often, from the facilities that have always given them, namely the Silo, Composter and Windmill. But based on my historical and current numbers, it is somewhat of a smokescreen. Monica is correct, you will probably finish in the same drawn-out amount of time as before, because the increase in Cranes required by that step (for the higher leveled players) has offset the increase in payout. GG didn't say they were making it easier to win the event, the adjustments they made apparently just referred to the drop rates to give players the feeling that it is going faster, a little more satisfaction that your time is being rewarded. I haven't really seen better rates for the "special seeds" though, my Rice and Roses only gave at 50%, and my Nursery seeds gave between nothing and 25%... that's not really what I would consider better drop rates for special seeds.

I showed the same average possible-to-actual and percentage-of-total ratios as in the last Asia event, some were EXACTLY the same. That goes for Mill+Silo+Composter, all the other facilities, and both sets combined. It is a different set of payouts with the same results in the end.

Those players at XP levels 16-18 have the same quantity of Cranes to find as before, but everyone else has gone up, some doubled, so the lower level players may finish earlier than before, while the highest level players may be the same or later.

The information I have based some of my opinions on is as follows:
47% average success rate of finding Cranes in ALL main farm facilities
94% average success rate of finding Cranes in Mill + Silo + Composter
32% average success rate of finding Cranes in the other facilities combined
82% of all Cranes found came from Mill + Silo + Composter

I have completed the event with a level 53 farm, so these numbers are final, and they have remained in line with the numbers at the end of the last Asia event when I was a bit lower but still in the same XP grouping.

Wow--Happy to report that I finished the event on us1 :) Don't be worried about making a big batch of cowfeed for overnight! I think there were literally HUNDREDs of cranes that popped out when it was ready! ;)
Fields and orchards were not producing many at all. The fields did ok, but I grow mostly corn so it is like 3 cranes for 5 fields of regular corn.

I also added 4th pig barn and like magic--almost the same time required for feeding the pigs as it was to make the feed. I think I will continue to do that ;) It doesn't take long to build it or demolish, but then I can move on to next task much faster ;)

C'mon: still +2 days left so plenty enough time if you can shake it up a bit! :)

ug, shoulda had my mill upgraded before this event, quite hard to complete the crane task with only a level 2 windmill at level 35..

[733007] NateUser02 [None] :: Oct. 21, 2013, 12:37 a.m.
oh, and im pretty sure when u use humus on ur rice fields it messes up your chances of getting cranes... i did on 2 of em and didnt get ny, and on the next 6 i didnt use any humus and got cranes everytime..

Oh my goodness, is all I can say. Hurray i just finished this event.
I think I would have finished early yesterday, but I had grown to much cabbage and I didn't want to sell it. So I suffered a whole day with grinding cabbage to use them up so I could move on to next step. For me the hardest part was the cabbage & feeding the pigs (360/3600) and collect the cranes, I spent 2 days on the cranes. The corn and cabbage when grinding gave me lots of cranes until early this morning, I could not use my silo anymore due to having to much dung/fertilizer.

I feel like a little vacation now, maybe do upgrading and rearrange my farm while I wait the arrival of my new baby/puppy. I may need to just relax a bit until he gets here and start running me all over the place and keeping me up at night. After a long hard week on the farm and all the craziness of the rude pictures, a break is well deserved for us all. Deep sigh.

I'm new to this game but I need a cooperative. Do you have one?

[733035] Kat Nip (GB1) [GB1] :: Oct. 21, 2013, 3:33 a.m.
Hey Mariea, you'll need to post in the Cooperative Search forum for a cooperative. Good luck with your search. :)

[733113] Barian [None] :: Oct. 21, 2013, 8:33 a.m.
Yes......but you are better off planting corn and milling Chick Feed

[733167] Daytona (INT1) [None] :: Oct. 21, 2013, 11:49 a.m.
Over the entire task, the crane drop rate change resulted in a 10% drop in number of cranes found in corn and a 122% increase in those found from milling corn. As ever, details are in the link in my sig.

OOOOH I do have another tip to add:
When you get your farm arranged the way you want, refresh the browser & leave it like that for awhile so that when the reward is ready to be put in--it knows where to go. I found this out awhile ago, because I was constantly trying to fit as much in as I could, but noticed that the overall drop rate was practically nonexistent. I think this was even before these events started. And now, I rarely move stuff around unless I get bored or expand.
So if you are going to move something, You might get a reward, but you probably won't til you refresh the browser to reflect that you have indeed moved the object.

6 hours to go! C'mon lets go ;)

[733176] ElizabethK [None] :: Oct. 21, 2013, 12:33 p.m.
I actually found that for the cranes it took me less time overall. It use to take me almost 2 days to finish the cranes and the fireflies. Last time on fireflies it still took around a day and a half. However, the cranes only took me 1 full day and then a morning harvest to collect the last 200. So 24 hours. I noticed that I also seemed to get more "extra" cranes than previously. By extra I mean instead of just 1 from the corn per say, once in awhile I would get 8. This use to only happen rarely maybe a few times for the entire task, but this time it seemed to happen at least once an hour. Also noticed the "extra" drops on other finding tasks.

But I guess it is all random and luck. Good luck to all that are still searching for cranes.

Ohh now to decide where to put the cozy teagarden on www1 farm :) I just started the flower farm on that one today, so maybe I will start that one out as high profit from the beginning. I finished farms on both servers now, so I can have afternoon off for myself :) Ohhh but maybe Steve will be here later? I will be back :)
