[5085797] adam12 (US1) [US1] :: Nov. 20, 2019, 6:15 p.m.
3 days left and city states have not respawned a 2nd time 80 clicks or better, whats the plan for making this event work?
Map is a mess, would like to see a better spread out and faster attacking times for farther foes.

[5085994] Becca (NL1) [NL1] :: Nov. 21, 2019, 12:18 p.m.
ah at least you could conquer city states, as from day 1 I am not able to conquer one, because apparently I have one. NO I DON'T HAVE ONE, oh sorry capitals...grtz

Ok so lets see if the stats of the alliances back up the feedback?

So almost every alliance that has joined this event is now totally inactive, their points dont move there is no collection of points nothing.

So how can I back this up and move it from opinion to fact.  Well GGE like their Stats here are some for them to chew on.

Every player starts the event with 25k influence for an alliance of 20 thats 500,000 influence points, lets see how many alliances have more influence then they started with.

As of writing this, there are 88 alliances with more or the same influence then they started the event with.  We have to consider thats after a full week of the event!!!

so 88 out of 9777 alliances in the event.  thats over 99% of all alliances in the event have lost more than what they were given at the beginning of the event.

So less than 1% of all alliances have actually managed to keep or gain in a whole week of play,  a whole week of capturing of city states, attacking  / defending building.

Lets go a little further, how many alliances have managed to hold onto 100,000 influence, lets bear in mind thats just the capture of 1 single city state, just one in a whole weeks play.  1 amongst 20 players the alliance can technically capture up to 60 city states per day if they use ruby or 15 per day if they do not.

only 150 alliances have more than 100k points,  so just 1.5% of the whole server has managed to get 100k influence points, that means they have lost everything they started with and now have managed to grab a single city state and are now counting down to how long it takes for someone to notice and take it off them.

So the reality is that over 99% of the server is dormant.  Farmed to death beaten and broken, despite them all no doubt entering this event with high hopes.

This is not an event for everyone its not even an event for the top 10%, At best its an event for the top 1% but the reality is its actually an event for the top 0.1%.

The rest of you are just fodder.  who after a couple of days will get fed up of rebuilding so simply wont bother any more.

This is not just the opinion of a simple player.  This is FACT based on experience of playing the event, and also the data to support that opinion.

This kind of attitude, this kind of event is EXACTLY why you are losing players.  This event has nothing, and i mean nothing in it at all for 99% of your players, they are simply farms for the 1%.

you have managed to create an event that within a week of it starting has alienated 99% of the players that bothered to join to the point they have completely stopped playing it.  Within 1 week!!!

Now that must be some sort of record.

This is the way the game has been going for some time but this event has taken it to a whole new level.   It truly has taken the last dying embers of balance and poured water over them until they are now totally extinguished.

The reality is you wanted to promote the fighting of alliance vs alliance but the reality is half of the top 10 are effectivly from 1 alliance so will not fight each other half the rest all have agreements with each other becaue to put it bluntly its just way to costly even by the standards of this event for 2 top teams to go against each other.

So you are left with what we have today.  the top 1% smacking the remaining 99% until they simply have nothing left to hit, and no interest in the event and no way of competing.  Then at some point when the 99% are toast and gone.  The top 0.1% gradually move on towards the remaining 0.9% with anything left to hit.    Meaning that at this point they have worked like hell to stay in the top 1% no doubt spent a fortune to stay in the top 1% only to lose everything at the end of the event and finish in the gutter with the rest of the 99% Sickened, that their time effort and money came to nothing.  And vowing to never ever enter the event again.

Its going to happen, the evidence is sitting there in front of your eyes, just take your blinkers off, just review the stats.

This event is horrible, outer relm was bad, this is much, much worse.  This is what happens when you let greed get in the way of game design, and game balance.  Until you start to design events that are engaging and inclusive, not just for the top 0.1% but for everyone.  You are going to keep losing players, and this kind of event is only going to accelerate the process.

Until you start putting back into events a value to activity, and to skill, and to game knowledge, instead of simply focusing totally on ruby spend, until you ensure that ruby pricing is controlled and fair for all participants, you are going to get players who will work that to their advantage, or in other words to other players disadvantage.  And I know its not something you want to hear, but you are losing that battle!!!  Just like you have already lost the battle against multis.  If you genuinly believe you are winning, you are deluded and oyu need to open your eyes.

If you dont believe me, believe the stats.  What percentage of players joining this game do so on a cheap ruby currency?  what is this percentage compared to say 6 years ago?

What percentage of those players have been reset? But more importantly what percentage of them are still playing on the cheap ruby.  What is the average time before you reset these accounts/?  as if its longer than say 1 week.  The damage to the game has already been done as that account will then be in a position to win events, take prizes from legit players etc etc.  Longer than that the account will simply become a shell and the player will go through the process again.  You have the stats, use them.

This event represents the GGE attitude perfectly.  How you can get it this wrong shoudl really be a big wake up call.

You aren't wrong Phil, but look at it another way - GGS runs this event four or five times, raking in as much money as they can (and let's face it some alliances have spent a staggering amount of money on the event to feature in the top handful).  Then when the cash cow starts to run dry, GGS announces that they are bowing to customer feedback on the event and are pulling it

And they come up with an alternative event - something new - something that many will whip out their credit cards and rush on in to try.

See the glimmer of a pattern beginning to form here?

And let's not forget that they may not be great at programming and putting together events, but they are consummate experts at getting money out of people.  And the only way to do that on an ongoing basis is to change things around constantly so things don't get old.  It's all part of the master plan methinks

And butter wouldn't melt in their mouths!

As usual , Phil points  the real issues of this event .
I'm one of the 99% frustrated players of this event . There's  no city state close to me so I have to send hits ( with feathers ) at 6 to 8 hours distance to capture one , and many times when I wake up I see that was  in vain because the city states disappeared during the night . We've tried to defend our capital but our defense is wiped away by the strongest commanders and troops , then our influence is wiped away by 36 soldiers attacks...
I'm so bitter and annoyed that I've even stopped playing the game as I used to, it's no fun anymore , with all the same  events over and over again .
 Maybe it's time for me to find something else to do in my spare time...

I saw a post somewhere that mentioned a Walkthrough for Beyond the Horizon.  Does anyone know how to find it or more of an explanation of how to play?  I am told I need to capture city-states (which it says are similar to resource islands inStorm), but how do I identify a city-state so that I can capture it?

Thanks,
LadyThundara

There are grids with city states all over the map , unfortunately most of them are empty now , so you have to scroll over the map to find one ...

who wants to play even on such an ugly map

What's the point of playing the Beyond the Horizon event after what happened on the first BTH?

GGS scammed their customers! Simple. Refused to 100% refund the money spent and failure to  show true good will.

All these and GGS was AT FAULT!

[5086189] bucketofsquid (US1) [US1] :: Nov. 22, 2019, 1:50 a.m.
One of our best players, who buys rubies, is now considering quitting the game.  We all know that GGS are little more than parasites. You could at the very least try to pretend not to be money grubbing vermin.  I have spent nothing on your game and if you don't mend your ways I never will.

Beyond the Horizon/Tangled Wilderness clearly states that only the top 1,000 alliances get any reward at all.  I'm not a fan of trophies for participation but openly making it obvious that most participants are complete losers is just foolish.

Hi, I am playing 'Beyond the Horizon' and have a question about the event.
When it comes to the last day and all the points go into the capital, does the event end there? Or is there a period of time where points are lost from attacks on the capital, but cannot be gained.
If there is time after the 'point banking' how long is it?

Cheers,

loo
points go to the capital 2.5 hours before the event ends (see the timer on top of the screen). They can still be looted after that. Any points in your main castle at event end will be added to your alliance score for the rankings.

[5086238] Osiris (GB1) [GB1] :: Nov. 22, 2019, 3:03 p.m.
Gotta love the update GGS just did to optimise the Event Horizon - horns not showing on the screen when attacks are showing in travel info; support posted isn't showing in travel info but its presence definitely there as indicated by battle reports; oh and troops have mysteriously multiplied - as shown by the increase in numbers and increased food consumption levels.

I see unexpected food shortages ahead for some!

On the plus side - you can be thankful that GGS don't design and build cars.

I don't get why this has to be on a separate server. Why can't this be done like Berimonds? The problem is you are taking away from the reason we are here and that is to play Empire. It makes it very difficult to be active in Empire when you are on a different server and you have to log out of the game we are here for.

[5086291] grampydragon (US1) [US1] :: Nov. 23, 2019, 1:17 a.m.
attacks on caps need to be adjusted we got hit 33 times from one allaince in 1hrs allaince is in 3 parts 20 members in each one all in top ten rankings those who dont/cant spent hundreds of real dollars has no chance what so ever. this makes it no chalange for weaker allainces as no chance and no chalange for top allainces as no compition

 from what i see the top allinces arent winning but just buying the top spot

[5086335] Joshvir262 (AU1) [AU1] :: Nov. 23, 2019, 4:13 p.m.
I think this Beyond the Horizon event needs to be like berimond where its individual servers instead of putting everyone on one server its too buggy and not as fun Just ruins the entire event really

[5086378] Sethanon (AU1) [AU1] :: Nov. 24, 2019, 12:38 a.m.
This event is absolutely awful.
There is nothing I enjoy less than defending a dozen attacks per night, and even with spending rubies got absolutely caned by the whales.
Its near impossible to get a half decent comm or castellan simply by looting because the gold coin rewards are pitiful.
Although the rewards are great, if you can get them, this is an event I will not return to unless there is some serious redesign to make it possible for the average player to achieve, and I suspect that many others feel similarly.
Since the premium relic ingredients are only available from this competition, this inevitably means that non/low rubies players are now at a serious disadvantage in the main game when it comes to food generation/storage.
This is an event solely for the heavy purchasers of rubies

[5086380] tutsana2 (BG1) [BG1] :: Nov. 24, 2019, 12:53 a.m.
I would like to point out some terrible aspects of the event. First is the whole, I repeat, the whole new level of pay to win challenge. No game can ever beat that. If that was the record you were after - congratulations. Secondly, is the end of the event. So basically you can spent the whole last day to collect, and collect, and then again - collect points with the hope to get a decent ranking. Well, the timer hits and your capital is suddenly in the top100. But the first alliance notices that and guess what happens next - they can attack you, and they can get your points. Like what the? And thats not all - they can literally send full scale attack, because why not? You may be level 13 or something, with level 1 towers and with some luck 120 defenders on the wall. But they attack you like they are against level 70 player. And if that's fair, someone can try to talk me into it. I wanna know - why do you have to make the pay to win aspect of an event so ridiculous. All the hard work me and my alliance have put into this, do you have an idea of what it costs as time? And all that time can go to waste for a matter of 1 hour. I strongly think that GGE MUST change how the event works, and not put in even more disadvantage the players that doesn't want to nullify their credit cards. That disadvantage is so huge, so enormously insane, that I wont exaggerate if I say this - there is no point in playing the event at this stage. And you will see that ALL smaller alliances will quit playing it. And believe me - this will result in less paying, so beware and stop making mistakes before it's too late, I know you are after the money!

I expect my comment to reach the management. I will start even messaging directly, spamming if needed.

I also have a single question regarding the final score. When the last points are moved from player to capital, there are still around 2 hours until the event ends. If you get more points after that, do they count for your final ranking, or the only thing you do is mess up the others?

What is held in your Personal Influence will add to the Capital Influence for your Alliance total.

Really, just have your alliance get a couple of city-states that collect at the right time, and hit a few capitals at the right time, to end up with around 100k - 150k total influence and you will end in top 1000...…

Cant believe I did all that for 1 or 2 relic build items, its times like this that I realise my time and effort could be better spent elsewhere lol
ugh just pixels
