Capt Drake maybe you need to send a gift of life jackets to save the crews from sinking ships and tangled ropes as I fear many are now sailing their ships beyond the horizon to another land :)

Since when can an alliance have max 5 city states? Last time the event ran there wasnt a max. Also we got more then 5 city states yesterday evening. Please explain of fix the bug @Crom Cruach or shall i write some not allowed words here so you at least read it?

Yes its still buggy as hell, hmmm think crom promised it was fixed...lol

Ruby buyers will always win here and if they are spending the amount they are so be it, you dont need to spend to still get something out of it.

The top teams do have capitals, they have just changed leaders and spent rubies to rename the capital so its harder to find.
TY I stand corrected then

Thanks for taking the time to write in to us, I was really sorry to hear of the problem you'd been having. My name is Joey and I'll be helping you out today.

Clearly "Joey" is the only one at the "Support Desk"...……...

Just figured it out.

They also changed the cap of city states, now if you cap one off someone else the 8 hour timer resets.. Last time it definitely didn't or is this a new bug.

Crom hasn't been silenced he is just to embarrassed to appear after promising it was fixed..

i haven't been reading so perhaps this is normal for this round but city states and towers are just disappearing.  It's like the world is from the movie "Neverending Story".  The world is disappearing.

All towers will eventually lose their power and disappear into the jungle.  This is as designed.

What I have noticed seems to be an HTLM5 issue this time around that I didn't notice the first time.  The screen refresh doesn't seem to be working.  I was watching a Capture Attack that took several hours to land.  I kept an eye on it on my 2nd monitor.  The City State was present and open the entire time.  There were other City States still uncaptured showing on the screen as my Capture landed.  The result?  "No battle".  Suddenly the screen changed, the one I was going after AND SEVERAL OF THE OTHER City States blinked out of existence.  Possibly THIS is what @gopher42 (US1) was referring to?

So, now we have to log in and out, close browser and clear cache, close one eye and stand on one foot, in order to get a proper view of what is happening...…….

yup, that's what happened.  they all just blinked away.

And thanks for answering my question on the disappearing towers

Ok so I guess this thread was set up for constructive feedback so after playing the event here is mine.

Firstly this event takes the pay to win model to a new level, this is in everything but name pay to play, to be able to do pretty much anything you will need to spend real cash.

GGE have made an event that requires huge troop numbers both to attack but more importantly defend what you have.  Yet they have made it pretty much impossible to produce enough food to support those levels of troops.   So basically you have to buy food to hold decent troop numbers for any length of time.  The only way to get troops realistically is to buy them, of course you can recruit troops but you are likely to lose them 100 times faster than you can recruit them.

The prize distribution is Horrible and unbalances further an already massivly unbalanced event.  Only the top 1000 allainces recieve anything at all, so approx 90% of all alliances get nothing.   so approx 9000 alliances will get nothing at all and will have wasted 9 days of their life. To add insult to injury if you are not in the top 5, your prize will be tiny, 6th place gets 66 times less than the winner of the event.   GGE have also introduced new buildings into the game, but only the top 5 teams will ever get them, realistically this will be pretty much the same teams event in event out.  So your chances of ever owning one of these buildings will be zero for anyone not in one of these alliances.

Only the points you hold at the end of the event count for anything.  So if all 20 of your alliance spend lots of time, effort and money, if you get wiped by one of the top alliances in the last 5 mins of the event you get nothing. a sure fire way to pretty much ensure that, that alliance will never properly try to compete in the event again.

The event is WAY too long, for the vast majority of alliances the first 8 days and 23 hrs are pretty pointless,  they are just farming fodder for the big alliances, so for 90% of teams the only important part of the event is the last hour.   where they will try and snatch enough to get them into the top 1000 before someone has time to take it off them again.  So basically 9 wasted days for what will boil down to a last hr crapshoot.  Of course if you are prepared to spend enough money to hold enough defense to be able to hold on to what you have then you can attempt to play the game is it was intended to be played but for almost it will be pointless.

There are very large advantages for very large servers, in that many large servers have a large number of alliances in their network, Allies, Wings, wings of wings etc etc.  And so what you tend to find is a pyramid scheme with the smaller weaker alliances feeding upwards in the chain to the big alliances at the top of the chain.

Then you get onto the issue of money, I have no issue with the principal of those that spend the most, coupled with putting the most effort winning the prizes, it happens in life all the time.

What i do take exception to is being told that my money is worth 300% less than other peoples money, especially when those people are competing directly agaisnt me.  knowing that not only are those troops that are killing my own are going prevent me gaining any prizes.  But they also potentially cost the attacker 3 times less than they cost me.  That is just wrong on pretty much every level you can imagine.

I will not quote a message from support I recieved this week but i will paraphrase it so as not to break any rules.

For Goodgame Studios, a fair and level playing field is essential for true competitive spirit to flourish.

Please tell me how giving some players 300% more for the same money is a fair and level playing field?  And how on earth you expect a competitive spirit to flourish like this ?

So enough of the fundimentals of the game being horribly out of balance.  How about the specifics the mechanics.

building your castle up is without real spend is a very very slow and painfull process. Most players spend years building their castles, this means for almost everything in this event is painfully slow, hours spent to travel to capture assets, or even hit anyone other than the people right next to you.  unless of course you spend real money, even then its very slow.  And as a result quickly becomes boring.

So GGE have effectivly thrown away the F2P / Pay to win rule book.  the principles of this model is that you can get more in a shorter time if you pay.  but that you can still get the same things it will just take you much much longer.  In this event it simply isnt possible to get anywhere without spend.  Even a modest spend will just make you target practice.

This event is in essance an elite players club.  Its pointless for 90% of your player base.  and even those for those 10% of players that can get something from it, its pretty pointless.  Lets be honest this event is just for the top 0.1% of alliances in the game. if you fall outside that catagory then this event is going to be either totally pointless waste of time and effort, or simply boil down to see if you can get lucky in the last hr crapshoot and see of you can pick up some scraps.

I suspect unless this event gets a huge overhaul then you will see participation numbers fall off a cliff, as people give it a go see how pointless it is for them, and either never go back or just play activly for an hour at the end of the event.  Of course it is very possible that the big teams will spend enough in this event to keep GGE happy.

For me personally I always like to give every event a good go, and see if I like it.  I tried last time but the event was basically not finished.  And I have tried again this event, after assurances that the event was fixed.  I had mistakenly hoped that GGE would have taken on board some of the feedback.  They havent.

As a result this will be the last time I play the event as I suspect it was intended to be played.  And I will either give it a miss totally or maybe join just to play the last hour crapshoot. For minimal cash / minimal effort.

Either way for me personally the event is a massive dissapointment,  GGE have been heading down a ruby only road for a long time now but this takes things to a whole new level.  And not in a good way.

The only good thing I have to say about this event is that its biggest weakness is an unintended positive.  In that in that the real prize pool is going to be that concentrated, that it will only really effect a small number of servers.  For those servers it will effect, I genuinly feel sorry for you, as the top alliances will shortly become around 50% more powerfull then they are already,  with food production increasing a further 25% more than it is already and food consumption decreasing at the same time by 25%.  Both of which you will have no effective way of achieving.

I'd a day off, which I needed. I just came back this afternoon.

@[email protected]"Philt123 (GB1)" Thank you for the feedback, it will be included in our second round of feedback for this event.

Will Phil's feedback be ignored this time too?  The very same was pointed out last time in and among the epic bug failure of last time.  My too much food at the top feedback has been ignored for eons now, and besides the game play issues of this event, the rewards are that which are precisely not what is needed by those that can get them.

[5085577] UD1 (INT1) [INT1] :: Nov. 18, 2019, 8:55 p.m.
I think what will happen no one will enter this game only to be fodder for the ruby alliance , why would you even bother if there is no rewards at the end of it .

So let the German server take the rewards it wont affect many of us but soon they will not need to play it anymore , like outer realms you do all your building , but once done you will not need to bother, but at least you get some rewards if you put a little effort in , with bth you get nothing

If GGE wants to make more money, they are going to have to give up something so that the rich will have to dig deeper.

[5085712] Joseph Henry217 (US1) [US1] :: Nov. 19, 2019, 11:09 p.m.

It was evident that GGE scammed its customers in the first round of Beyond the Horizon event. GGE promised a fix that they cannot deliver, kept its customer to compete and invest time and money and then at the last 2-3 days announced that the event will run broken and no fix available. GGE’s lack of business sense in the field of customer appreciation in the time most needed when they are totally at fault is beyond embarrassing.

This makes the event not worth participating at all. Very few now are playing and spending on this game due to GGE’s own intentional negligence.

Hi, I am playing 'Beyond the Horizon' and have a question about the event.
When it comes to the last day and all the points go into the capital, does the event end there? Or is there a period of time where points are lost from attacks on the capital, but cannot be gained.
If there is time after the 'point banking' how long is it?

Cheers,

loo

On the last evening any points the members have are banked in the capital.  They cannot add to that total for the period between then and the end of the event, but what they can do is steal influence from other teams' capitals thus potentially dropping those teams down the rankings. The final tally in the capitals when the event ends is what determines the final ranking
