I researched an extra spy, which makes my total number of spies 16. But when I send my spies away 1 by 1, I can only send 15 spies....Is this an error or is it supposed to be like this?

Why can't we see the architect when viewing the outposts? upgrading at least the marketplace is a must

According to a friend, it doesn't appear at outposts but you can still upgrade architect buildings there. So in your outpost, you can still get marketplace lvl 6, stone quarry lvl 10 etc.

meh... i wish i had tried it. didn't cross my mind
makes one wonder... how do they alpha test? run the code step-by-step and see if it pops any flags? don't they have a test server? I guess not, because i can't see how they missed the fact that the architect doesn't show up on OPs

The research tower should have given us more powerful units

It gives you a faster speed for the veterans which, in effect, creates more powerful units. So it did.

You probably have an inactive swordbrother.

I posted a bit too late, but I wanted new vet soldiers and way larger food production for more glory points. Researching about a new kingdom would be good and to increase the chances of getting a map piece. Increasing the amount of rubies by attacking Barbarian Fortress or so. 24 hours of tax collecting without rubies would even be cool.

Yes, but the 24 hour collection for free will more likely cost you rubies to unlock it like the 12 hour one, also we can already increase in 20% the food production with research, up to 105% as a maximum increase adding every other possible bonus, Players with food outposts will be virtually impossible to defeat in my opinion if they add a "way" bigger food bonus.

No I don't have an inactive swordbrother. In the swordbrother window it says i've got only 15 spies though...seems like a bug to me.
One more thing...I researched the increased veteran speed. My veterans are now faster than the units I get from owning the capital...There should be research to increase the speed of kingsguard units as well...Otherwise my veteran units will have an advantage over the kingsguard units...I think the kingsguard units should remain the fastest units in the game, no?

Research now costs rubies? Really?
You can't be serious. As if Ruby players don't have an advantage yet...
I don't know why I'm now hearing a certain ABBA song in my head. Really no idea.

Maybe, they should also add the feature that kingsguard can't lose?
Don't you think that having access to those kingsguard is already enough advantage?

Not necessarily. The kingsguard are already the strongest. And creating research only for people in alliances that have a capital seems a bit... discriminative. It's not going to look good.
But I wouldn't say no to changing the research we've already got to apply to all troops (yes, including travelling, marauders etc).

I'm assuming that you're talking about researching 12 hour taxes for coins. If not, you should probably just disregard this.
12 hour taxes are and always have been for either the stupid or the billionaires. Can you name one clever non-ruby player who uses 12 hour taxes? I doubt it. And that's because it's a bad thing. 6 hours is too short for when you're asleep, but 12 hours is too long and spending rubies when you could probably get more (assuming you're quite active, which you probably should be if you're spending 150 rubies at least once a day on taxes) from 6 hours and then 10 minute ones is just a bad idea. Or maybe in some situations it's a good idea... apart from the ruby cost. Most people who don't buy rubies want bakeries more than a few extra coins.
So making the research for heavy ruby buyers is fine. Because it won't give them an advantage... well, not much of one.
If there is some other research that costs rubies, please let me know. I'm very interested in what I should try and do in research level 1 so I can then unlock the new features. For instance, I'm going to have to get the third level of "shady business" to unlock the ability to research those 5 extra spies but if they cost rubies then I'll shift my priorities a bit.

Except for the Tax one, actually there isn't another research that cost rubies.

I'm not talking about the 12 hours tax.
Marching Formation (traveling time to other worlds) is ruby research from 3/5.
Reinforcing Axle (transport capacity) is ruby research from 3/5
I suppose Caravan will be ruby research from 3/5 too, but didn't do that research the first 2 levels yet...
This is pretty stupid because I think ruby players pay most of the time rubies to transfer their soldiers immediately and they also pay rubies to double their transport capacity in main world...

How much do they cost? There's no-where that says you have to use bought rubies to pay for the research.

What a stupid thing to say. I would imagine that at least 30% people who have bought rubies don't even get to a second kingdom (everwinter). And what idiot consistantly wastes rubies on transferring soldiers (doing it once or twice can be fine if there's a good reason) when they haven't even got a bakery in each castle (which I would estimate accounts for 90% of so called "ruby players").
And if the cost is anywhere close to reasonable (under 5000 rubies per research being reasonable), non-ruby players (a VALID term) can get it anyway. Yes, it might take effort but it should.

How do level 60 get 1000's of soldiers. If food production is only raised by 20%.

I'm weighing in on the Architect event. Completely frustrating!!! I've been waiting since Jan 13 for a glimpse of the Architect event and have not seen it. I am online and active every day from 8AM-5PM EST. I get the fact the designers want this to be random (even though I think it's a bad idea that is inconsistent with the rest of the castle development) but I think I'm dealing with something that is clearly VERY random. I can't even begin to calculate how long it's going to take me to upgrade the building from the Architect event. Based on what I've seen so far much longer than I'm willing to wait.
Not that I usually subscribe to the notion but at the very least make it an option as a ruby purchase. At least that way I know that if I want to complete my castle development what I need to do. :whistling:
