Same issue here - all troops I had out on attacks has dissapared during the server boot.

Send my troops to the bird, when they entered the game again they were gone.
I lost 50 k of demons, many of my colleagues from my alliance suffered the same thing.
What do I do about this situation? 50 K OF DEMONS I PAY FOR THEM

It isn't only the troops. We are at war and lost the initiative now by this. I lost everything, attackers and defenders, so the only thing I can do is watching how I get burned down. How is GGE compensating for that?

I think the best way for you to solve this issue is to contact directly the GGE support.
they will look in to it ,

pixels compensation package takes no account of the work players have done to get to their current position and whitewash solution creates as many problems as it solves, one of the questions asked on player survey is about how likely you are to recommend game to others - you can guess my answer - flawed business strategy, sheer incompetence and corner cutting approach coupled with deliberately bewildering pricing structure make it a no brainer
