how many farmhouses should u have in a shiny food outpost? and how many farmhouses should u have in your castle?
As Bob said, it's debatable, but I think in the Great Empire/grass/green you should go down until the occupation rate of 17% (9 farmhouses in main castle, not sure how many in a shiny food outpost, but probably 14). In the other kingdoms, you need twelve (12) because you get resource villages which increase their production significantly.

How do you attack from the outpost? Every time I try and attack it is coming from the main castle when I want to use troops from the outpost...any ideas?

When you are sending the spies, it will show your castle and the target, click on the name of your outpost and change it to your desired castle/outpost.

Any advice on surrendering your outpost to another player?

For the castle in Empire, I'd go to 14. I've got 18 in the Shiny Foods. Not dead sure those are the perfect numbers, but it's easy to figure - you get to the point where you can either put another 2 Farmhouses, or else another Festival Square or whatever the resource equivalent is (to increase Public Order and thereby raise Food production). Calculate which one will give you the most increase in Food production.

Some buildings will be destroyed randomly, but you will get all the tools and resources in the captured outpost.

Yes, is there any way to pass on an outpost to a fellow alliance member?

First of all, you'll need to make sure the alliance member has a free castellan.
Have the alliance member that wants the OP drop out of the alliance, launch their attack, and when it lands, just invite them back in, after their soldiers have been there for the 24 hour occupation period, the OP will be theirs (Optional, after they launch the attack, invite them back in, then have them leave again just before the attack lands).

Outpost question for level 40+ players: for sure you prefer shiny outposts...
Two stone, one wood or two wood, one stone? I will say two stone but i'm wondering what you will prefer. :)

You should aim for three shiny foods.

If you definitely want resource OPs, you should go for 1 wood and 1 stone just so you have an even production from the two of them.

Excellent question! As you build your castles and do the researches, you need more Stone than Wood. For a long time I thought it would be best to have 2 Food/Stone and 1 Food/Wood.

However - once the above is done, then you are left with making tools. You need to make literally millions of tools - rams, ladders, and mantlets, for tower raiding. You need more Wood than Stone for that. This goes for as long as you play the game.

In the end, I think the ideal is indeed 3 Shiny Foods, 2 of them with Wood, 1 with Stone.

The ideal is 3 food : 2 wood, 1 stone. Thanks!
I guess I still got a lot to do. :)

Nope. Only the main castle.

What is the difference between a normal and shiny outpost?

[1669276] Praesentya [None] :: Nov. 22, 2013, 4:58 p.m.
Well, a normal outpost produces resources in the ration of 6:2 of the two resources it can produce. A shiny outpost produces resources in an 8:2 ratio, so the primary resource produces at a much higher rate.
