Send more than one wave. Fill the slots with soldiers then switch to wave 2, etc.

I want to know because I want multiple castles but I also want to be peaceful.

when you get your estate building you can take your outpost. You can take an outpost that is empty--there is no flag, but you still have to attack it to take the outpost. This type is not an active player but one that is not occupied by another player. --or-- you can capture one that has gone to ruins and presumably the owner for whatever reason has left the game and probably won't be back. It it is not on fire though, you will have to attack it to get rid of the soldiers that remain.
**It is very hard to remain peaceful in a war game

What do you guys think are the best outposts to go after? Right now I'm only level 11 and have my eyes on a 8 wood/2 food post somewhat close to me, and recently I've always been short on wood. But later on I heard you are more dependent on stone, so would it make sense to invest in one of those? However close to me, only a 6 food/2 stone outpost exists.
As well, what requirements are needed to build a second outpost?

Can I collect taxes/income from my outpost's population?

[1354415] Itt2 [None] :: March 2, 2012, 11:11 p.m.
Yes. They are automatically added to the taxes that you collect.

How can you send them to the main castle.

thx

[1354529] Itt2 [None] :: March 7, 2012, 8:35 p.m.
You don't have to send taxes to your main castle. There is only one pile of coins. Taxes are collected for all of your castles together and are accessible from any of your castles.

Or, are you asking how to send resources to your main? If so, you have to have a market in the outpost that you want to send from. Then click on your main castle on the map and click on send resources.

Actually I should have said send soldiers from the outpost to the main castle.

thx for the reply.

@Wally,

Once you capture an outpost when you click on either castle from the World map you will see a new option to "Station" solders. Clicking on that allows you to choose which solders you want to move to either castle from the group of current solders you have in either castle.

e.g. If you have 50 Macemen & 50 Bowmen in your outpost you can transfer all or some to your main castle.

i surrendered my outpost. How do I get it back?

[1354565] Itt2 [None] :: March 9, 2012, 4:40 p.m.
It will take 24 hrs from the time you surrendered for the outpost to be released and you get your castellan back. At that time the outpost will revert to just a wall and a keep. Any buildings that you have built will be gone.

After that you will have to send your castellan and recapture it and start rebuilding it again.

I am still relatively new to this game, but I find that the whole process of taking over an OP from someone else needs an update. I wanted to hear from others though before I start an official post.

I don't mind that there is some sort of cool down phase after you took over an OP. I just find 24h extremely long. Normally you have to send an army with your castellan because the other guy will not present you his OP on a silver platter. The castellan is one sort of a slow guy, so your soldiers are already blocked for a couple of hours. Once you have taken over, you have no access to them and they still feed of the the resources in your main castle, even though the new OP may have enough food available. Depending on your own level, you may not be able to feed a second army, just because the other one is sitting somewhere. Plus, one can not even organize the defense, if the original owner tries to take back the OP, which is a huge disadvantage.

Therefore, my proposition would be to give at least limited access to the soldiers, either by allowing to send a certain amount of them to the main castle or to allow organization of defense. As long as somebody holds an OP, the soldiers should also be fed by this OP and not from the main castle.

Any opinion?

Taking over someones outpost is hard. It should be.

You are not just taking resources and killing soldiers of your opponent, you are taking one of their castles that they have worked to build. So it needs to be the hardest type of attack in the game. It can be done, it just takes some planning and effort.

Think about it. Do you really want them to make it easier for someone to take *your* outpost?

EDIT: I have successfully retained one of my outposts from a player that was 3 or 4 levels higher than I was. He had soldiers that I did not. He also had the help of an Alliance leader that was over 10 levels higher than I was.

I also have taken an outpost from a player that was 2 or 3 levels higher.

[1354569] Crazy Canuck [None] :: March 9, 2012, 7:54 p.m.
I am not talking about making it too easy. To be honest, the attack part of the take over is not any more difficult than an attack for a raid on the same guy. I don't really see how keeping an army hostage makes a takeover more difficult.

The first challenge of a takeover is already that you loose the element of surprise since the castellan is so slow. No problem with that. If GGS wants to make a takeover more difficult, than there should be a different battle script in place that gives some sort of tactical advantage to the defender. For example, no possibility for the attacker to position his army on the different battlefronts according to the spy report. Or limiting the amount of troops that can be send. Something like that, I will have to get a better idea of the game first before I come up with something smart. ;)

I just don't see the point of this sort of hostage scenario that is implemented right now.

[1354572] Itt2 [None] :: March 9, 2012, 8:52 p.m.
In a normal attack you can pretty much just throw everything into it. But, because of things you already stated in your first post, you don't necessarily want to do that when trying to take over an outpost. You are correct, the actual attack is no harder than any other. Keeping it is the tricky part. The full take-over is harder, simply because it takes more planning.
