Hi
Is it better to capture another player's outposts or not?
I really want to say yes! but it's not. Overall, in total you need serious back-up or coordination with some friends to take someone's outpost.
If you're thinking about taking that phat, delicious ruby outpost of someone, forget it. If all fails for them they'll just go into protection to keep their stuff.
You have absolutely no chance taking it if they dont have down syndrome.

So the defensive player can go into protection mode while the attack is on the way? And what happens if they open the gates?

hey, i just conquered an outpost (8stone, 2 food) and im not complete sure what to build there.
ive got barrack, 2 farms, 8 stone quaries, 1 marketplace, storage and soon to come a stonemanson.
but when i check other peoples outposts from my alliance i see the got dwellings too. and i dont know if that will give me more money back from taxes?
- Do i need to build dwellings?
- is there anything else i need to build?
thanks

Build whatever you need most.
Yes, building dwellings will increase your tax base. You will not have to collect taxes separately, they will automatically be combined.

My outpost is almost all dwellings. It is a good idea to build up a large population in your outposts

I have a neighbor who has captured one of my outposts. I followed that by capturing one of his outposts. We have since become good friends.
My question is:
Now that both of us have flags on each other's outposts, can he join my alliance?
I captured a neighbor's outposts.
He then captured one of mine.
We have declared a truce and become friends.
We now have flags on each other's outposts, can he join my alliance?

It is possible to do that, Queen Irene, just click on Management tab and click surrender outpost. I have a question, though: For your outpost, when you are constructing buildings, does it let you construct without using resources like it does when you first start playing this game?

Sorry. I'm new. At what level do you gain access to the resources necessary to capture an outpost?

Other than geographic location is there any advantage to capturing another players outpost. Do you receive the processed resources or any of the buildings or upgrades? I realize that in real war that there is such a thing as scorched earth were the retreating army tries to destroy or disable anything of value but with swift decisive attacks there should be something left intact for the victor.

If I surrender an outpost, will it automatically revert back to it's "natural state" of nothing but the keep, or will everything I've built stay there for the next person who captures it?

You need to build an estate to get a castellan which allows you to capture outposts. You can do this around level 14 I think, maybe a level or two earlier.
When you capture an enemy's outpost most of the buildings remain (a few are damaged or destroyed) and whatever resources where already there are now yours.
If you surrender your outpost it reverts to its original state.
I have a kind-hearted level 31 player near me (I'm level 17) and he wants to trade his 8 wood 2 food outpost for my 8 food 2 wood outpost (At a cost of 10 000 wood, stone and food paid over a week or two). I don't need the food as I have a similar outpost near me and I'm almost level 19 so I'll be able to get that one. My question is this:
His outpost has many level 8-9 woodcutters and farmhouses and a level 3 keep and walls etc. I heard you can complete quests at your outpost, so when the time comes for me to get these things, will those quests be instantly completed, allowing me to level up much faster?

@stupid name: you can't complete quests at your outpost. Whoever told you that you could was mistaken. For example, I have most of my offensive army stationed in one of my outposts, and whenever I get a recruitment quest, even though I already have the soldiers I can't complete it until I station them at my main castle.

I KNOW YOU!
also, something i just found out from personal experience, many of the buildings will be on fire after you capture an outpost. some will even turn to rubble. that's just a heads up so you aren't surprised.
