This is just ridiculous:
I only started playing a few days ago, but I am very active so far, about 16 hours activity/day, and castle L 11 already.
I have my 3 commanders raiding non-stop during my activity periods, they rarely stay in the castle and I usually see 10 or so rbcs burning around me; that is about 6 to 10 raids per hour.
I started my second map collection at about the same time the event became visible to me; I have now nearly finished this map collection, while I only obtained 5 relic pieces so far (equivalent to roughly 1 every 4 hours of playing, or 1 in every 24 to 40 raids).
With those odds of getting a relic piece it is obvioulsy impossible to get them all; so I looked at the cost of buying one; well, multiplied by the number necessay, that is just not going to happen...

The higher level of the robber barons, the higher chance of finding a relic piece. Just keep attacking some of the same robber barons and they will level up. Next time the traveling knights come it will be easier for you to get them. Hope this helped you

Thanks, my highest ones are L 8 so far, if that is the explanation (Each time I send a raid, it goes to the nearest non-burning regardless level, which works out well).
How frequently do they come in game? is that a regular event, or a rare one ?

well it was bad luck for you...
as you started the map one.. so you are looking for the map part and relic at the same time...
Normaly getting only the relic is easyer...

But knights with higher level get into competition later. Yesterday my brother lv 12 played and searching for relic (prox. 1 day 18 hours). I think that was competition in another world. This morning I was suprised with less than 12 hours to complete quest.
But in 5 to twelve I completed.

For me it appeared with 1 day and 5 hours to go; I was L 10 at that point.

That's the way to do it, certainly. But it also helps to get as many commanders as possible, and attack all the castles you can, even if they're not as high level. Thanks, my highest ones are L 8 so far, if that is the explanation (Each time I send a raid, it goes to the nearest non-burning regardless level, which works out well).
I just (and only just!) successfully completed this one, and it's definitely getting harder. Less time, more pieces, less sleep! *bleer* I was getting a piece maybe 3/4 of the time when attacking my highest level of RB (19), and I'm guessing roughly 1/4 when attacking L8 or so, which I could afford to do without bothering with siege equipment.
Good question! I guess every few weeks, or so?How frequently do they come in game? is that a regular event, or a rare one ?

I've wondered about that. But this time, I've found pieces of relic and relic both with the same attack, so I'm thinking it doesn't make it any harder. (But who knows, for sure?)

The traveling knights come about every few weeks. The more pieces there are, (obvously) the longer it takes to find them. You have to attack a lot of robber barons to get them. On the most recent one, it took 97 Robber barons Level 20+ to get 8 pieces. I gave up on that one. Once you reach Level 25+, it gets easier. You can start a castle in another kingdom and get relics there, too. And yes, the time given caries. Once, I had 2 days while another time I only had 20 hours.

They are not THAT rare, perhaps "every few weeks or so" is correct

my advice to you would be to not attempt to complete the quest atm. you're too low level, and it will be extremely costly for you to maintain such frequent attacks on rbc, with only occassional relic piece rewards. also, since as you have just started, you lack the number of upgraded farmhouses needed to sustain the travelling knights even if you succeed in the quest.
even if by some chance you beat all the odds and manage to get and sustain 160 travelling knights, you'll have very little or no defenders, and those knights WILL get thrashed if someone attacks you.
level up, build more farmhouses and upgrade them, and then try complete the quest when you have surplus food production. having allies who ferry food to you after you've got the travelling knights is also helpful.
hope this helps.

It is an event, events appear now and then, they are visible below the south corner of your castle, in castle view.what quest???

You probably will not see them if you do not move your castle map now and then to see the fields and mining area.
Point 1: besides the fact that this is not directly related to what I was talking about, you got that wrong.ProStrategos wrote: »also, since as you have just started, you lack the number of upgraded farmhouses needed to sustain the travelling knights even if you succeed in the quest.

You might be correct thinking about the average L 5 newbie castle; I still have at least 1 day protection still to go, but I am already close to L 14, without having neglected the matching build up...
Point 2: until yesterday I was able to farm rbcs non-stop with very low loss ratio, but that ends when a RBC hits L 9.
I now have to farm them further away while I get ready to have the next level of units and equipment to deal with L 9+ rbcs with favorable odds on my end.
Regardless I am already maintaining an army larger than what I would have obtained from this event, and I am able to feed them as long as I keep farming rbcs.

16 hours seems kind of a ridicolous amount of time to be playing

That is 16 hours activity, not 16 hours actually in game.
In practice, over that period I just check in each time (or nearest I can) some of my raids are due back to castle, or a building is nearing completion or upgrade, so that I have the least possible gaps.
Well managed, it works out to around 3 to 4 hours actual playing time; it is more a matter of trying at best to make as many things as possible needing my orders at around the same time.
Which is something I am very experienced at.

Sometimes in a good 30 to 50 Robber Barron attacks, I get 1 or 2 pieces. It's just bad luck. Keep trying.
