you guys are right about the Villages, but it gets boring attacking them over and over for 336 wood, 336 stone and 1344 food, I always have 0 loses, but is really boring already, and yes is easy to sustain 300 soldiers earning that, as long as I attack villages often

I'm f2p player and this event is pretty easy if you use the right tactics. Farming the small resource towers is boring but you can easily get 1000+ wood and stone in 10mins. I currently have 250 spaces for soldiers and 177% morale, after losing 190 soldiers on penultimate tower realised I needed more

Just waiting for current glory event to finish, then will send over rest of army to finish. I've got quite a few rubies so far and hopefully should have quite a few soldiers to take back with me, but it has been expensive in terms of gold, I've easily spent 100k+ so far.

Maybe the reward isn't great but it's nice to have new things to do, so I hope we will see more events like this in the future.

I think that the Thorn King challenge will never appear again. However, there has been a similar event to this in the past (Icy Siege), and I think one of the moderators said that they are planning on including events like this in the future.

I do not care what anyone else says, The Thorn King campaign is complete rubbish. I have a camp big enough fro 20 troops. So decide to raid one of the villages, to gain more resource. I attack the weak flank with 20 two handed swordsmen(Lvl4 fighters), and I still loose.
The posts I read above about 'you obviously don't know what you are doing' etc, are complete rubbish!
Do you realize the cash and resource I would have to spend, just to get enough troops to raid just one outpost?! Not to mention the cost of replenishing?!
This campaign should not be made available at Lvl 22, which is what I am on!
Also, the campaign only runs for 1 month!

Anyone who says people should not play Thorn King, as they are not clever enough, is clearly at a higher level, plays the game far too much, and arrogant!!

We all agree the Thorn king is a complete waste of time

If you only attacked 1 flank, you were very likely to lose. With small resource villages, always attack the weakest 2.

Yes, you have to lose a few troops at an early stage, but once you get a capacity of 40, it's plain sailing resources-wise.

You should not be doing this is you are at level 22. I have said this in my guide and on other threads repeatedly - they should not have made it available at such a low level and only level 30+ players should attempt it.

ONLY 1 month??? I have missed 6 days already and am going to miss 6 more. I have had around a fortnight so far, yet I have already defeated the final castle and now have just 3 towers left before I have completed the event. Before you tell me that I'm a high level ruby buyer, I didn't spend a single ruby on the event and I am a low level (at least in comparison to the majority of players able to complete the event) - 44.

If you are a high enough level (which you clearly are not), and if you have enough coins, then you can do this easily. Most of your point is invalid - we have already said that you need to be at a higher level. How much time we spend on this game is our business, and none of yours. Some players may have taken a year to reach level 40, some players (like me), only 2 months. I, for one, am not arrogant (whether or not I appear to be arrogant is based on how you imagine my tone, and it is VERY hard to get your tone across through written messages/posts). I may have high expectations, but so far, the players in this game and the people on the forum have lived up to them.

After playing for a while longer, I am at the point where I lose 1-5 soldiers when attacking small resource villages. I can see now how this event may be beatable, even for free players like me. But for players who were around Lv 25 at the start of the event and don't have huge amounts of time every day to spend on this game, there just isn't enough time. Maybe if I had another month...

It was never supposed to be do-able for level 25s. Even with Heavy Crossbowmen and 2-Handed Swordsmen, it's a struggle. But I have defeated 18 of the towers (including the Necromancer's castle) with HCB and 2HS. I am going on holiday for a week starting tomorrow, but I will hopefully defeat the last tower today. In any case, I've earned most of the rubies and can bring some of the kingsguard home (although I can get another 140 if I defeat the last tower).

After I defeated Necromancer, figured I can take another 120 soldiers for 15 towers so I did it. And I got NOTHING but that 120 soldiers! Is defeating Necromancer rewarded with no soldiers? Because I can swear there was a message saying "my men will join you blah blah"?

What should I do? Contact support? Give me advice please.

You don't get any soldiers for completing the Necromancer's castle, however, you do get 350 rubies. It does not say anything about soldiers in that particular quest description.

A link to a screenshot of the quest is below. You will notice that the quest only rewards 50 rubies, but the second link shows the extra 300 you get.

I highly doubt it. It certainly doesn't say when you click on the "exit event" button. In fact, here's a screenshot of what it says:

i agree this event is a load of crap

you have to use so many rubies and its easy for ruby players which im not its a pile of rubbish

Rewards are crap. I thought I'll get some soldiers, but after all you have to spend huge amount of coins to get only 10k coins and soldiers which cost way too much (if you calculate your loses in).

Hopefully next quest is gonna be better.

I agree with u, i just attacked a single tower and half of my men died, leaving me with so less men that a person would be forced to bring in more. i think it is a waste. it is only useful if ur lvl 55+ i think by then u have a large army and many resources.
