first click on one of the players in the alliance then click on the info circle, it will have an icon that says alliance info, click on that, then go to the diplomacy section and click declare war.

Best Attacks vs. Evenly Spread Defense
When attacking a Flank that is evenly spread in defense for both Melee and Ranged (5 Citzens, 5 Spear, 5 Bow = Melee Defense 290, Range Defense 295)
Which attack will result with the least number of fatalities:
15 Mace (675 Attack)
13 XBow (650 Attack)
8 Swordmen ( 680 Attack)
Combo 5 Mace, 4 Xbow, 3 Sword (680 Attack)
Combo 7 Mace, 7 Xbow (665 Attack)
Note: Each attack group costs about the same in gold to create

Is there a way to imbed the screenshot or do you have to send them a link?
I'm sure there is a button there somewhere. Look around again, I managed to put in an attachment last time.

The 7 maceman + 7 crossbowman attack would work better. Its always best to send a mix of range and melee, especially when hitting a ranged defence. You could try the full crossbowman attack, providing you have loads of mantlets to nullify the ranged defence bonus.

No, they can only be built at your main castle, but you are able to send your spies out from any of your castles.

First visit the op you want to abandon, then go to Economy on the control bar at the bottom right of the screen. then the options will pop up, click management, Then click the middle right icon that says surrender outpost and your in business:)
It says in my number of posts that I have only posted 65 but when I counted them I have well over that number. does any one know whets up with that?

Due to people spamming to get higher post counts, posts in the entertainment section, creative corner and forum games do not count towards post count.

It has been said, many times in these forums, that mantlets, cast iron mantlets, shield walls, etc., can totally wipe out ranged defenders if enough are used by attackers. If that's still true, then how did this happen--?
Attachment not found.Attachment not found.
In this wave, the attacker employed 150 percentage points worth of shield walls, and the defender used nothing but defense rocks. Thus, shouldn't every ranged defense soldier have been killed, regardless of whether the attacker was strong enough to win the wave overall?
My understanding, from reading other forum threads, is that no other kind of ranged bonus makes any difference here. That's why I haven't mentioned any other bonuses such as equipment bonuses or wall bonuses.
Thank you.

I will assume that those "ranged soldiers" didn't die because there were melee soldiers that prevented it.
Probably another twist in their formula. If there were 100% ranged soldiers all of them would have been dead.
Honestly the melee soldiers are rather strong and since we don't know their formula it will seem they divide the losses based on a mathematical numbers then converted to "actual losses".

Thanks for your help, xJadetsssx.
You seem pretty casual about this. Yet, to my knowledge, this refutes everything that was ever said (or at least strongly implied) in these forums, about mantlets, cast iron mantlets, and shield walls. So, I am stunned by this.

Actually, I have mentioned that ranged soldiers with -100% fighting power (due to mantlets) should die, but I never (personally I also haven't see other people) say that if there are melee soldiers the same will happen.
All of us make assumptions since the formula is unknown, again they "can't" kill the ranged soldiers because melee soldiers are present seem to be the most acceptable theory.
Perhaps the game adds a kill check or something. Sorry for not being so useful but that's all I can think of ;_;...
Perhaps when melee soldiers are added an exception to the "mantlet" rule happen.

I don't think that's it. I'm pretty sure from an update, GGE made it so that nomads and other players have wall, gate and moat bonuses added to ranged and melee bonuses.

If that was the reason the losses displayed would've been much lower (perhaps 30-50%) for the defender, and the losses in soldiers would've been more equal (if not completely equal) between both defender soldiers' types if you ask me.

Ranged bonus from the defender's equipment does make a difference. Wall and moat bonuses do not.
Are you sure about that? Ranged equipment seem to increase Base power the same as walls, gate and moat do, not the "ranged bonus/penalty" mantlets affect.
At least when I stopped playing the formula was:
[Base power * (1 + Equipment bonus + Wall bonus + Gate bonus + Moat bonus )] * ( 1 -+ Ranged bonus/penalty) = Total power
As you see mantlets makes all other possible bonuses useless.
