Do mantels only impact ranged troops on the wall and no impact on those in the courtyard?

yes they only affect the ranged troops on a wall. 20 manlets (assuming the defender has no bonuses), will allow even a spearman to kill 260 vet bowman

how can you create a 2nd castle?
I'm not sure if you mean an Outpost (OP) or if you mean a new castle in one of the realms.
If you mean an outpost, you build an estate and then you find a free resource outpost (the resource icons on the map) in green. You scout it and send the necessary troops to secure it. It can take up to 24 hours occupation to capture it. Then you develop it similar to your main castle.
If you mean a new castle in another realm, you unlock the other realms at certain levels. It is level 25 for EW glacier (ice). You will need to contribute resources and coins to get in. Once you get in you pick a direction and you will be given a castle. You won't be able to move its position. You then build it up as a new castle.

Hello, how come my soldiers in Ever winter are taking days to finish....Is a reason why this is happening? Also, everything seems to be very slow in EW....Any information you can give would be appreciated...Also, do I need tech support for this issue?

While you are in protection mode the recruitment time of the attacking soldiers is dropped, and since you start with a level 1 keep all the buildings will be build slower until you upgrade it.

under the castle names you'll have a symbol say a crown some a helmet what exactly do those things mean
if there is an exclamation point then tht means they r looking 2 join an alliance
the helmets show their rank. the helmet wit ntn on it means they r just a member. the helmet wit a blue feather means they r a sergeant. the white crown means they r a general. the yellow crown means they r the leader.

Yes, that's true.
However, some buildings will be demolished when you take it over. Also, if you store any of the higher level decorations you currently won't be able to take them out of storage again until you reach the correct level.

117 attack power, 139 defense against melee and 48 defense against ranged.
26 loot, 25 speed and 4 food consumption.
The Lion/Bear bowman have
98 attack power, 54 defense against melee 129 defense against ranged.
26 loot, 25 speed and 4 food consumption.
