Title says it all, does it keep more soldiers alive? Or is it just an extra cost? I am asking this question because i attacked a lv 7 RBC which had 4 men on each flank, with 40 of my men. Thanks guys!!!
(I searched, but didn't find anything about this)

When you win a battle, regardless of whether it was against a player or a NPC, any soldiers that survive will collect loot based on their loot capacity. Loot sacks and loot carts increase the amount of loot that soldiers can hold by 15% (sacks) or 30% (carts). However, each NPC has a limit of the loot you can take, and your loot from players is restricted by safe camp (based on loot and any hideouts in that castle). There is also a certain restriction on teh %age of loot you can take from another player.
In short, send extra soldiers for extra loot, or to make sure that you win the battle. Be aware that there is a limit, so if 200 soldiers win against a level 1 RBC, you won't get the loot that all the soldiers could hold.

Thanks! But what i wanted to know, was that does it decrease the amount of soldiers you lose if you send more? And what level do you get loot sacks and carts?

Loot sacks/carts are unlocked with the siege workshop level 2.
As a generalisation, the more soldiers you send, the less you lose. If I send 1 maceman against 10 spearmen, I won't win, but if I sent 100 macemen, then I would almost definitely win (depending on the wall and gate bonuses).

that is not true, soldiers don't carry more %, each sack and cart carry 15 or 30 resouces respectively

you would obviously win
if you had a level 4 wall with machicolations in all three slots, then you would have a 230% bonus, a level 4 wall with portcullis on both slots would also be a 230% bonus, plus a ruby moat with a fire moat would be a 130% bonus, which all adds up to a 590% bonus. a spearman (not veteran) has a 40 melee defense power, so with the added bonus one spearman would have 236 melee defense each.and there are ten spearmen, so that would be a total of 2360 melee defense. a macemen (again not veteran) has a 38 melee attack power. times that by 100 and you would have 3800 total melee attack power, so the attacker wins. also the defenders on the side flanks do not have a gate, so they are weaker and depending on how you arrange the spearmen, the total melee defense will be equal or less than what i calculated. divide the defense power by the attack power of the macemen ( 38 ) and you will lose about 62 men which would mean 38 men will loot the castle.(i am still unsure about exactly how many men you will lose, but it should be an estimate, and this only works if the attacker wins and the attacker uses only one type of troops)

Really? Because I'm sure someone said that it was a %age, and 15/30 resources doesn't make sense from the loot I got from the small resource villages with a sack back when the max loot was exactly 200 wood, 200 stone and 800 food.

I remember when it was introduced it says "assigns the capacity this UNIT have when plundering" or something like that, and it doesn´t says +15 "%" anywhere

i think loot sack carries 15 more resources and loot cart carries 30 resources but the loot cart will be more after the update.

But I don't think anyone has answered what the OP is really asking. I AGREE that sending more units helps. Helps insure you win. Helps get more loot. Definitely.
BUT
I think what is really being asked is...
Hypothetical Situation
If I send 5 "men" and lose 4, I win and have 1 left over.
If I send 10 "men" is there a chance that I lose less, say maybe 3 or 2?
In other words, is there any sort of bonus to your attack effect by sending more men.
I think the answer is no.

actually, your supposed to multiply not add so you get:
on a flank, their would be a 2.3 (wall)*1.3 (moat)= 299% bonus(their inversely propotional, not directly)
in the middle, there would be a 2.3(wall)*2.3(gate)*1.3(moat)=6.877% bonus
so a spearmen would have 2750.8 melee defense (on the front)
and there would be 3800 maceman melee power so
(3800-2750.8)/38 is around 27.61 so you have about 27 macemen left (you have to floor round your answer)

you cannot calculate the end of the fight using that formula, no one can, I think there is another hidden variable in the fights, the troops amount of each side affects the end of the battle

actually, this game is very technical like this
there are no other variables
there is no troop amount bonus
Hypothetical situation:
50 troops with 5 losses
then 100 troops would lose 10 troops or (50/5)=(number of troops/x)
solve for x to get amount lost
there are no other variables
there is no troop amount bonus
