Seems like everyone I talk to in game is like 9 to 11 years old based on the way they type.
I go to the player introductions forum and I see kids who are 6 years old playing.
Why are there so many children playing this game?
This is a strategic long-term war game, why does it even appeal to kids?
I would have normally assumed that only people who are 18-20+ play this.

Who knows? o_O but many adults plays this game, in fact many of the people I know are 20+ years old, but probably those people don't go in the forum as much...

Are you aware that there are people in this world that have a severe medical condition which causes them to be that way? My mother for instance is one of those people.

I think there are 4 main types of people on here:
1. Children under the age of 8 who play with their parents. The game appeals to them because of the graphics (like the people walking around the castle) and because they can arrange their castle how they want. If they do buy rubies, then their parents pay for them and they spend them all on aesthetic aspects of the game - changing the castle name, altering the coat of arms, buying a king's banner and/or buying decorations that look nice (instead of the best ones). These players often fail to get past level 30, whether they get bored of the game or just spend all their time doing things which don't earn them EXP.
2. Children under the age of 18 who fail to use correct grammar and punctuation, complain when they get attacked and refuse to act maturely in any way, shape or form. They like the game because they like attacking other players. They don't buy rubies, or if they do, then only buy a few and waste them on things like heroes and slots (recruitment, production, construction) without buying a bakery.
3. People between the age of 10 and 18 who play this game nicely, understand that it is a war game and all/most game mechanics (occupancy, melee vs ranged in attack etc.) although they don't make it past level 40 before getting bored of the game and quitting. They like the game for the right reason - because they enjoy MMORPGs and the main parts of this game (attacking, defending, expanding castles and outposts and sometimes alliance politics). They might buy a few thousand rubies, but nothing major.
4. People above the age of 18 who play this game well - they understand all of the rules of this game, however complicated, and often reach level 60 and buy lots of rubies. Again, they like this game for the reason you are supposed to: they like MMORPGs and this probably isn't the first one they have played.
Of course, there are exceptions - I don't quite fit into any of these categories.

3 - between the age of 10 and 18, enjoys MMORPGs and understands how to play. Not bought rubies, doesn't really focus on levelling up. Perfectly fitted the description.

I think we've got someone to add to #2 - I received this letter after just 2 attacks (in about 3 days) on a player: "dont attakc me !!!!!!!!"
Either that player is 3 years old or has the mental age of a 3 year old. Or both, I guess.
EDIT: The player is level 27 with 300 honour after losing 2 battles to me. The honour means that he/she has probably attacked another player (and what level 27 hasn't?), which would make them a hypocrite. It means that they've at least experienced battles with other players.

I see where you are coming from Bob, but you are making wide sweeping generalisations that aren't always accurate (as you do admit). A friend of mine in another mmo game was one of the strongest on the server, but it turned out I was old enough to be his father!
Some people are considerably more mature than others, even at a young age, or might get help from older sibling/parent etc... I have been very suprised to see the level/honour points of some people who post here, I was expecting them to be much lower given the immature nature of their posts.
I also think you should add:
5) People generally over the age of 18 who are good at playing games, understand game mechanics and know how to farm for rubies etc, therefore do not feel the need to spend money, despite being able to if they wanted. These people will not be able to come first in tournament ranking, for example, but are able to achieve high rankings across the board.
Saying all 18+ buy rubies is like saying no younger players have reached lv60...oh, wait, too late

Ooooh, so tempting to test that claim
But I see you are lv56 with nice honour and well-developed castle/outposts, so I guess you are an exception to Bob's categories

I was actually thinking of two categories, but of course the first one would be too big compared to the other:
1) People who don't understand that this is a war game
2) People who do understand that this is a war game
