i'm 12 and i love this game so does lots of other people younger than me
this game appeals to loads no matter what their age, lots of my friends in alliance are adults and i'm a child and i'm the leader
i'd say 7+ - 60
i love strategic long term war games, it appeals to me greatly
it confuses me more that adults play it
its a game on the internet and fully grown adults with jobs and kids play it ?(?(?(
Seems like everyone I talk to in game is like 9 to 11 years old based on the way they type.
I go to the player introductions forum and I see kids who are 6 years old playing.
Why are there so many children playing this game?
This is a strategic long-term war game, why does it even appeal to kids?
I would have normally assumed that only people who are 18-20+ play this.

Anyway, I think the first post is 'why are there so many kids playing this game?' or something along the lines..
Well I guess the answer is because of lots of advertising, because it can be genuinely addicting, and because its a game on the internet and there's no inappropriate content and lots of friendly people.
Now that it's been answered, maybe someone could close this thread...

I can see what bob meant earlier about some players who have very little grammar and whine a lot. There is a person in my alliance who i know outside of the game, he's 8 months younger and whines when ever he is attacked and cannot be supported. He also sent a circular to the alliance asking for foo for his returning bears, when he was told for a week in advance to MAKE SPACE FOR THEM! yet sent about a 10 line message with no punctuation and his spelling was appalling, so I see where bob is coming from.
I know that i personally on't have the best punctuation as in the chat or quick one or two line messages between friends, i don't bother with punctuation, same on the forums when i am just doing a quick short post, I don't see the need to bother so I use more or less punctuation, depending on the situation.

a lot of the time, it is very easy to tell when you're talking to a kid playing the game. the whiners and people who don't understand it tend to be in the 7-12 range though, above that the players tend to be more bearable.
i know plenty of people in the game who i knew for several months without having any idea that they were only in their mid-teens.

Because some of us kids are really really smart and can plan attacks and defences better adults can? LOL, @ Bob I don't fit in, I'm under 18 but past level 40 and doing well too. I know someone who is level 60 under 18.

In my eyes the assumption of children getting bored of the game is true. Several of my school friends have played this but every last one failed to last 3 days. Most children do find it slow paced and boring. I do not, but maybe I just hung on for longer and was rewarded.
My friends like fast paced action games that can be completed easily.
And, yes the grammar standards in game are appalling.

I think about 2/3 of players are age 19 or older.
That leaves about 1/3 younger.
Most kids playing are 8-12 years old.
Average: About 19-20.
There is a player who is 8 years old whom I know.
