Example outpost:
Food 8
Wood 2
amount level type
8 Level 10 farms
Level 3 flour mill
2 level 9 woodcutters
level 3 sawmill
level 4 keep
level 6 storage
level 5 marketplace
(Level 4 Bakery) optional
*max level walls gate etc....
Fill the full space with parks or other high level ruby decorations.
Wouldnt this be ideal?

I would like to know the answer to this question also.

I would say you should build more woodcutters.
Also, you'll need guardhouses, barracks, siege workshop, defense workshop, stables, watchtower (optional), drill ground (optional), moat, and dwellings.

you should have no buildings set in an outpost because it would make the game easer

How many farmhouses and woodcutters do you need for an outpost that has 8 food and 2 wood?

I think i have an experimental strategy if you are high level.
have 8 level 10 farms
have 1 level 3 flour mill
have 1 level 4 bakery
(fill outpost with as many high level soldiers as you can till you get close to +0 in food production)
have all the extenstions unlocked
max level keep
max level gate, wall, moat
Fill as much space as you can with either parks or higher level ruby decorations.
keep only the high level decorations, you can store the other
remove all buildings untill you only have the storageshed left (marketplace, barracks, siege workshop, defense workshtop, guardhouses, delete all of these and any other thing, like dwellings etc so you only have the flour mill, farms and bakery left)
Then fill this space with space/ruby decorations.
now send more troops from main to even out the food productions.
You should only have the keep, storage, bakery, farms and flour mill remaining, plus alot of decorations.
(have a level 3 stable in main, max swordbrothers)
(researches in research tower etc...)
So you can quickly send troops etc.
This way you will get the highest production of food possible.
A very high order, few resource buildings = high production.

HT45, what are you talking about?
Geothan, there's no real answer to that question. It depends on a lot of factors. Do you want to have a huge army, or do you want to build fast, or both?
I have 12 farmhouses and between 8 and 10 resource buildings in my outposts.

I understand your view but you still need resources for some things. I'm level 60 and I'm still building things.
You will need dwellings in every castle/outpost if you want a decent tax income.
Also, having to use your main castle for all attacks means that the food levels there would constantly get depleted and if you were attacked there when your attackers were out you could find your troops deserting due to 0 food and a minus production.

I have 12 farmhouses and between 8 and 10 resource buildings in my outposts.
I read somewhere that there is an optimum amount of buildings before the production rate of each building goes down.
I'd like to have a big army.

Here is my logic behind it.
In a outpost that has 8 food and 2 wood, you should only have 8 farms because that way keeps the production efficiency at 100%, then you can add a maxed out flour mill and a maxed out bakery, now you have maximally efficient farms, (combined with maxed keep, wall protection, gate and moat, castle extensions)
If you fill all the empty space with parks(non ruby) or the jousting list or the thing that is unlocked at level 40 then you have ultra-super-duper effective farms.
that way you should be able to have a ridicolous amount of stationaried troops.
The only bad thing about it is that sometimes outpost places that are closer to the main castle are cleared up, and you are sitting there with a totally pimped out outpost when there is an empty outpost slot that is much closer to the main..
sigh, what should i do.

so having 8 farmhouses is the optimum amount? If I make a total of 12 farmhouses won't I make more food that having 8 farmhouses?
How many farmhouses should I make if the outpost is 6 food?

yeah it will make more food but you will also use up space that you can have decorations on. you get 75% of the normal amount on the ninth farm, then 56% on the tenth, then less and less on the 11th and 12th.
the only reasons i have 5 farms in my main is because of the quests, once i reach higher level i will just keep 3.
do 6 food outposts exist?
1 farm per "food" keeps the efficiency at 100%
cuz i dont want to waste time and space when it comes to resource production.

you can easily get resources if you have high levels towers for looting off of.

Yes but after that the next building will be 75%, then 56% but the original 100% buildings will stay the same, so you'll get more food. Decorations raise resource and food income less per decoration each time you build one.
There's no perfect solution. It's all about balance.
And I really don't think 3 farms will be anywhere near enough.
Yeah, but if you're attacking from only the main all the resources will go there and as he decided to demolish the marketplace he'll have no way of transporting the resources to build anything.

You can have 1 row of an outpost (full extended) with 12 farmhouses, then optionally 6 more farmhouses and the rest of the 2nd line 6 woodcutters/stone quarries. All the other space is for decorations, buildings etc.
Many farmhouses with much public order = a successful food-outpost that can store very many soldiers.

1 farm per "food" with much public order = possibly the same thing, but one would have to do some math to figure out the most efficient way.

I really don't think it does. If it did then everyone would have 1 farm per food. They don't.
You must remember that although the occupancy of farms reduces after the last 100% one the effectiveness of decorations also depletes each time you build another one.
