Topic: [77602] Move Castle / Capturing an outpost

[-77602] Impetuous Minx [None] :: Sept. 26, 2012, 4:55 p.m.
I am looking to move my castle.

I have a ruins 13 units next to me that has an outpost with a lot of leveled up buildings. Also right next to the area is two unused shiny outposts as well.

Do I attack and take the outpost before I move (I will be moving to the ruins of the former outpost's castle , and I do not want to somehow erase the outpost and ruin the reason of moving). Also I do not want to first take the outpost, move, and than lose it as I am moved over.

Any ideas for the best route?

If you capture first, then wait until it is yours, you should be able to move your castle nearer to it without losing the outpost.

Every time i set to move to a specific spot, it gets taken by a nooby, straight away. Its 2 am here i timed it perfectly and i come to take that place, and out of the 2 possible locations 2 are taken by some noobs, now i have to waits another 2 days before another place is free. Is there any way to speed up or get back those locations!

I'm really not sure. I think there's a problem with this but I'm sure GGS said it had been resolved earlier. Give it another try, they may have solved the problem.

Has anyone actually moved their castle and 24 hours later are playing it / no problems?

I still don't get it. Whenever a spot is in ruins, it says it will be open in a certain time period, 10.8 hours, or a few days, stuff like that. But I have not seen a single spot that is already to be moved into. They all have the waiting period thing, and when I go back to a place that I am interested in, it is filled by a level 5 before I can move.

So whats the trick. After a timed out ruins an error message appears. How does one move there castle after waiting then to get an error message?

If you move your castle, do you get Robber Baron castles at the level they were prior to movement?

Did your buildings move with you or did you have to start over with what you developed inside your castle?
THanks,

Hi all,

I see atleast a couple of psots in here that are off topic, please search the forum before spamming in someone elses thread.

As for the moving issues we are aware of them and i do apologise that some wrong information was given to us. It was not possible to move to a ruined space after it started as the spaces were not being locked from new players. This has now been fixed and should be possible that onceyour flag has been placed on the spot new players should not be able to spawn there.

Regards,
Malreyn

What about the outposts you developed? Do they go with the move or do they remain where they are?

They remain at the same position where you have conquered them.

It's a little annoying that you cannot send your soldiers to your own castle or send market barrows to it during the moving period :(

Also it costs 5,000 rubies to move it second time

I am having issues moving my castle. It seems to me many others are as well. The problem Im having is this... When I wait for a ruined castle to become available and the time runs out i get a message from the system saying ERROR. The position does not become available as suggested when the time runs out. I think I figured it out. In the discription/instructions for moving a castle there is a note about not being able to move to unpopulated areas. It seems to be a common problem that people are waiting for ruins to expire, when the time runs out there is an error messege, RATHER THEN AN OPEN SPACE TO MOVE ONES CASTLE, then a little later there is some new noobs castle where the timed out ruins once were. So, not being able to move to a populated area, and new castles errecting where the timed out ruins once were suggests to me that (in populated areas) the error messege is the systems way of holding a space open for a noob. WHAT THE HECK IS THAT NONSENSE!? There needs to be a way to reserve the castle before the time runs out on the ruins so that the system does not use it for a new castle. For example, say a person is trying to move their castle to some ruins in an epic location for themselves. They wait 4.3 days only to get an error message then a noob in their desired relocation. WHAT THE HECK IS THAT NONSENSE!? Again, there needs to be a way to reserve locations for relocating castles before the time runs out so that the system does not place another player there OR the system needs to be refigured so that it waits say 24 hours before designating a spot for a new player allowing current players the opportunity to actually get a relocation they desire in populated areas. Yes, there are plenty of open, ready to use, locations on the edges of the populated areas.......Great place for the system to place new players. Not ideal in any way for most of us. Please fix this problem, yes it is a problem. It is a problem because the ability to relocate castles has been created to enhance the gaming experience. If the system consistantly uses locations to place noobs that players are waiting for in populated areas to relocate then it kinda has the opposite result on the gaming experience. It has been a cause of frustration for me and many other GGE players.

This is simply not the case. If you want to move to an area of ruins then it is possible, but it could be an active space i.e. as soon as one player is left, another new player will actively take that place should the server be popular. When I moved my castle, I had no qualms simply because I was given a lot of options around my area which were not necessarily ruins but open spaces i.e. areas where there are very few players and thus the chances of that place being taken up by a new player are slim. This is how it works, there has to be one central castle then, it builds outwards.

I agree with every single thing in this. I waited for 4 days. The last day when the time was counting down, I waited till 1 second, only to get ERROR CODE 6: Invalid spot. I am sorry, but what the heck. I waited for it, I waited patiently. If some level 5 person shows up, then this whole update was just a screw up.
