Topic: [78334] Pattern of attacking RBC´s

[-78334] elohssA [None] :: Oct. 12, 2012, 2:09 p.m.
Hello.
As im kinda new in this, so i was wondering, has anybody figured out and writen it down, how to attack each lvl RBC´s ?
I mean, for example, i have noticed that if i have lvl 7 rbc with 2 victories to lvl 8 to attack, then i attack it with 13 crossbowmen and 8 macemen, frontal only and result for that is that i lose 1 crossbowman and 1 maceman only.
The strategy, ammount and placement of defenders for the same level and state ( with state i mean how many attacks is the left for next lvl - however that is called, i dont know) castles is always constant and as i understand the result of attack is not random either (except the loot).

So there should be ideal strategy to attack every level of castles with minimum losses, always.
Has anybody figured it out yet ?
It´s kinda easy actually, i have managed to do so so far, but i was wondering, has anybody made it already so i dont have to for higher lvl RBCs ? :)

well u can place attackers in both flanks and the middle. it gives u a 30% advantage. if u just put them in the middle, u get a 30% disadvantage.

I'm sure somebody has. Personally, I just save the espionage reports, then decide what I want my layout to be every time I want to attack that particular level. It's normally pretty simple, planning attack layouts to be used every time wasn't worth it to me.

(Troops sent are either Two handed swords (THS) or Heavy crossbowmen (HC))
(The second number is how many victories are required untill the next level)
lvl 1-1
any troop to the centre
lvl 2-1
2 THS to left flank, 2 THS to centre, 2 THS to left flank
lvl 3-1
6 THS to left flank, 0 THS to centre, 2 THS to left flank
lvl 4-1
4 THS to left flank, O THS to centre, 4 THS to right flank
lvl 5-2
5 THS to left flank, 0 to centre, 5 THS to right flank
lvl 5-1
0 units to left flank, 5 HC to centre, 0 units to right flank
lvl 6-2
3 HC to left flank, 0 to center, 3 HC to right flank
lvl 6-1
5 HC to left flank, 0 to centre, 5 HC to right flank
lvl 7-3
5 HC to left flank, 0 to centre, 5 HC to right flank
lvl 7-2
5 HC to left flank, 0 to centre, 5 HC to right flank
lvl 7-1
5 HC to left flank, 0 to centre, 5 HC to right flank
lvl 8-3
6 HC to left flank, 0 to centre, 6 HC to right flank
For level 8-2 and up it is: (Left/middle/right) (L = ladder)
8-2: 8 HC/ 0 / 8 HC
8-1: needs spy (use THS on bowmen) 11 THS + 4 L/ 0 / 11 HC + 4 L note: you will lose 1 HC
9-3: 10 THS / 0 / 10 THS note: you will lose 1 THS
9-2: needs spy (use THS on bowmen) 12 THS / 0 / 12 HC note: you will lose 1 HC
9-1: first wave: 12 THS / 0 / 12 HC
second wave: 12 HC / 0 / 12 HC
10-3: 13 HC + 4 L / 39 HC + 4 L / 0 note: you will lose 1 HC
10-2: needs spy (use THS on macemen) 13 HC + 4 L / 0 / 13 THS + 4 L note: you will lose 1 HC
10-1: 13 THS + 3 L / 0 / 13 THS + 4 L

tanks to peter for the list. it is not totally perfect and still can be improved i believe, any help is appreciated.

You can no longer put more attackers on the flanks, than the level of the RBC (started about a week ago).

I would be interested in the best formula with the new change. Level 1 thru level 8-2 still works.

Level 8-1 and on will need revisions due to the new change (9-1 still works, but is now : first wave: 9 THS / 0 / 9 HC
second wave: 9 HC / 0 / 9 HC )

Read this

http://en.board.goodgamestudios.com/empire/showthread.php?19985-Robber-Baron-Guide

there is a zip file contains a lot of different level RBC

please aware it is not updated as the game currently revised the "defense"

[1404032] Impetuous Minx [None] :: Oct. 16, 2012, 1:37 p.m.
Found 11-2 = first wave 11HC / 0 / 11HC, second wave 11HC / 0 / 11HC third wave 5HC / 0 / 5HC = lose no men

I am still narrowing it down lower, the third wave either might not be needed, or less troops.

Would like to hear other formulas for other RBC's

So is it pretty much a waste of time and resources to attack lvl 9 robber barons until you get to lvl 20?(to get swordmen and heavy crosbows)

currently I'm level 16 and I keep losing to robber barons. All of the RB at a distance of 10 around me are level 9. My attacks are futile. :/
Sucks because earlier they were a very nice source of money and resources. Now they are a resource sink

[1404787] Impetuous Minx [None] :: Oct. 17, 2012, 9 p.m.
No you can still attack them. You will either lose more men if they are a lesser quality (maceman, or crossbowmen vs twohanded sword and heavy crossbow), or you will have to use more ladders.

[1404790] Impetuous Minx [None] :: Oct. 17, 2012, 9:06 p.m.
9-2 = 9THS / 16HC / 0 = lose one THS

Would like to hear some other people finding out other, or better formulas...

[1404817] TrialFaze [None] :: Oct. 17, 2012, 9:39 p.m.
9-2

6M-0-6R

no tools
full resource gather of 279, and 465 coins

[1404843] Impetuous Minx [None] :: Oct. 17, 2012, 10:06 p.m.
I lost one two handed sword via 9-2 = 9THS / 16HC / 0

You had to have lost much more men with your formula (and I do not know what R stands for).

[1404858] Conqueror9 [None] :: Oct. 17, 2012, 11:15 p.m.
Found 11-2 = first wave 11HC / 0 / 11HC, second wave 11HC / 0 / 11HC third wave 5HC / 0 / 5HC = lose no men

not much plyaer has a lot of HC to use
I lost them after i was defeated in my main castle

now i can use heavy crossbowmen (heavy)

i send
1 waves 11 heavy-0-11 heavy
battle.. both left and right get thro w/o loss

final battle at courtyard
lost 1 heavy

i consider it is reasonable..lost 1 heavy but the coin i get can recruit him back
no tools attached, my army travel faster and back to next target....shhhhhhh

apart from the matryl wave
if your wave has killend enemy and pass thro either left, fronter and right
your next wave at that section...is just a gathering in courtyard for the fighting in courtyard only

viewing your assigning of 3rd waves

your 1st 11HC-0-11HC has pass thro left/right w/o loss

your 2nd wave 11HC-0-11HC and 3rd wave 5HC-0-5HC
is just a furhter gathering 11+11+5+5= 32HC with 1st waves 22HC to form 54HC army to fight in there

i have test 22 heavy, lost 1 heavy
i have re-test with 44 heavy ( 2 wave), still lost 1 heavy

at that time, i can only send 2 wave

now i can send 3 waves
in next time, i will re-test and try to send 3 waves ( total 66 heavy) to test

but it may not worth as i only reduce 1 heavy, but the coin to send 44 additional heavy may be more expensive than to recruit 1 heavy
but it is good to know

Yes I like to see all different formulas and see how they work and for each different situation.

Personally I also do not want to use resources (ladders cost wood and stone), plus they take longer to transport.

I have plenty of money and food to carry as many soldiers as I want.

So I can also trade sending more soldiers that might cost money, so I do not have to wait to recruit more that die (one THS takes me over 15 minutes curently). This variable is a close one to watch as you do not want to spend too much for something you can just buy.

It is best to see all the alternatives, because your attacking strategy can and will change (once higher up I doubt you are as concerned about wood and stone resources).

It would be nice to have a thread that puts out all those formulas for each level, than each player can use that forumla to set their current playing style.

I hope more people add in their formulas for beating each RBC level.

9-2 : 9THS / 16HC / 0 Lose one THS

9-1 : 9THS / 0 / 9HC Lose none

10-2 : 10HC / 0 / 10THS Lose one HC

Lets see more...

....

plenty of money ??? do u mean game coins or rubies ??

15 mins....riase your PO and get your drill house and drill instructor

it tasks me 8 mins to train a TwoHand-Swordman

if u have been in Everwindter Glacier, those coins a falling like heaven
The worst..u cannot play ( w/o [ rubies and tons of resource ] )

i presume
THS stand for tow hand swordman
HC stand for heavy crossbowman

For 10-1
i send 2 waves
wave 1 10 2hand with 3 ladder - 0 - 10 2hand with 3 ladder
wave 2 10 2hand -0 - 10 2hand

no loss

it depending on timing, if I get time and do not hurry, i send some tools

Could someone please also give the formulas up to 5 with Mace/Crossbow?
