A similar case happened to me. I was sending a message to a friend and I put Obi Wan-Kenobi, but it said we won't tolerate bad language, and you want to know why? Because it thought this: Obi WAN* enobi, instead of Obi Wan-Kenobi.

Ouch,sick minded filter.Mind you I suppose that's the point.Can someone please explain why I can't say the word"opened" in a private message?

No It said such as () will not be tolerated.
Brackets with nothing in them?

The message was this:
I will send you troll time later and I will attack dde kannibaal tomorrow since my army is attacking binkis (my shady character person).
Happy Hunting!

:( Sometimes when I am trying to send 'strategy' messages to other players the system tells me off for using 'language that won't be tolerated'.

I don't use swear words... and I'm only using inocent words such as 'men' for soldiers, 'flanks' for the castle sides and 'position' for when I'm taking about where to place soldiers for an attack.

I do realise that younger players have to be protected from 'weirdos' that might log on but I do find it a bit silly that you can't use words in an entirely innocent way.

I'm curious as to whether anyone else gets a bit annoyed by this at times....

We all get an annoyed all the time. The language filter is multi-lingual so there are words you wouldn't notice that would trigger the filter.

I know the mods are sending a request to GGS to bring back the function where the filter told you what the offending work(s) was/were.

I really hope they do.

Yes I'm aware this has been brought up before, but I can't help myself.

PLEASE GUYS! FIX THE DARN FILTER! I CAN'T EVEN SAY A SIMPLE WORD LIKE SYSTEM!!!

Apparently "system" is not a simple word

God, that filter almost made me rip my screen in half! I change system to sy.st.em and then it says something about "arrival" being a bad word X(

The chat filter can be really annoying sometimes indeed. But Baldrick, are you not already told what the offending words are? It has always told me?

I don't care if they keep but just make it so we know what words are "bad"

The llist of bad words is so big (it covers lots of languages) that there would be no point really.

I have already explained in another thread that system is one of those words that would definately be staying on the list since it can be used to cause too many problems. We will be looking at the filter to see what we can do about it.

1. I still don't understand why the s word (system, lol xD) is banned.
2. Surely GGS knows that this filter can easily be bypassed as kindly shown by Luke. All he did was place a couple dots between letters and 'system' was allowed to be sent in the message...

You need to use your imagination a bit for it. Its not the word that is a problem, but perhaps it could be used for not so honest purposes........

System?

I really think you've got it wrong. What harm could possibly come from using that word in any context?

"I have a system for...blah blah"?

"I have a method for...blah blah" would be okay?

"I know how to cheat". That's allowed.

What the system are you guys up to?

The secret of the system word, greatest misteries in all Goodgame Empire

[1391388] Gaz The Boss [None] :: Sept. 17, 2012, 8:37 p.m.
anyway all this language filter is useless, i could send any disgusting or abusive message if i want, simply have to add an extra letter like SYYSTEM, but it could be used with any other word, so if u really want to write swear or abusive language you are still able to, GGS shouldnt cause so many disturbance in the regular gameplay.

you dont have to recieve messages from abusive players, simply put them on the ignore list, thats it

hahaha just checked that the word KURVA or KURWA is not on the ignore list, but it is a very abusive word in a few languages, well done GGS for your SYSTEM :D

I know that I said this is another thread, but I really have to mention it here.

THE FILTER SYSTEM IS HOMOPHOBIC.

I know that there are some people in this world that are so pathetic that they are reduced to using the words "gay" and "homo" as insults. I agree that they should be banned from the game (I would also agree to murdering them and having them sent to hell, if it exists). However, you don't have to put this in the filter.

If I want to have a serious conversation about gay people, why do I have to put spaces between half the words in my post?

Supposedly, the world is not homophobic anymore. Supposedly, children too young to go to high school don't call each other "gay" as an intended insult. GGS are not setting a good example by making the word "gay" seem bad.

If you want to ban the words "homosexual"/"gay", then you should also ban the words "heterosexual"/"straight". I don't think that you're going to do that, so GET THE WORD "GAY" REMOVED FROM THE FILTER.
