here are a few tips for younger levels.
Always get 8 food 2 wood/stone (stone would help more as needed more in higher levels)
Don't rush into an attack always send an espionage and make sure u have at least 20 more men.
take your time in battles even if it takes a month to get ready for the attack

if anyone else has any tips please share

The main thing I would advise people to do is get tooled up!

A single tool in the right place can save 100 soldiers from death and mostly they only cost resources. Keep building tools all the time if you can and make sure every one of your slots has a minimum of 20 tools in it.

If you're attacking make sure you spy first and send enough tools to do the job.

I hear you moaning, but tools cost so much wood and stone, well if your troops all die then you can't loot.

Seriously, tools pay for themselves.

When you say "20 more men", what is it being compared to? 20 more than the opponent makes no sense - the opponent will probably have some farmers and attacking troops and may have different types of troops to you.

A good tip is that in a war, co-ordinate battles with your alliance. Arrange attacks to arrive seconds apart from each other, and make sure that you agree on a time. If you are English, saying "11:00" to an Australian player will not help. However, saying "11:00 GMT" would make sense.

Always use tools to negate bonuses. With some setups, it is impossible to negate all bonuses, but do what you can. In addition, any tools used after bonuses are negated are wasted, so don't send 5 scaling ladder against a 40% wall bonus.

Send loot sacks/carts and [war] banners in later waves. They don't help with bonuses so they are not your first priority.

when there is an incoming attack look at their formation and change your defences to whatever you think is best

good idea i use tools all the time in fact once i used 200 tools had an army of 100 and beat someone with an any of 300 without losing any troops

No offense, but your "example" means nothing. You could have been using 100 cultist renegades against 300 armed citizens or 100 archers against 300 defensive kingsguard. If you say things like that, try to be specific - were you fighting macemen or veteran halberdiers?

Always send all waves.
Never send less than 4 waves. If you think you can beat him with 2 waves, take the advantage. Send one spearmen on the first two waves, to take out his precious tools (flaming moat) to make him sort of sad/angry ( I wasted a flaming most in there!). You're even more lucky if they have only 2 on each flank. Use the spearmen as a sacrifice to use those tools, then heavily arm yourself with full 2 waves.

PS. If they have 4 of each tool on every flank, send one spearmen on every wave to lessen it. Seconds after, use your real attack to regain the honor you lost in the first one. You get even more than you lost.

Hopes this helps!

What I do is I sabotage him till his whole castle is on fire then I attack.

Here's a tip:

Always have a equal and healthy amount of defenders and attackers-Especially defenders. If you send out all your soldiers somewhere far away, somebody close to you could easily attack you while you are very vulnerable. Also, if you are desperate, Open Gate is good option. Though, still keep an equal balance of soldiers, but especially defenders. Plus defenders cost less.

On Everwinter Glacier I am able to keep over 3000 soldiers inside my castle without losing food.
Since your max ammount of soldiers you can send in an attack is 1040, make sure you make 1040 attacking soldiers and all the other 2000 defending soldiers. It works like a charm! :P

That not always the case though, When organising defences i try to only put tools up if im being attacked so espinages dont detect them. And im sure lots others do the same.

I don't mean to be rude, but that's a very bad idea. Incoming attacks are only detected if you are online within 30 minutes (or thereabouts, varying on distance, horses, watchtower etc.) so unless you are online 24/7, keep your tools up. Okay, maybe you shouldn't put your best tools (armourer or ruby) up, but at least the resource tools.

Maybe you should use a couple of extra tools, but only against strong opponents. You don't want to waste the tools if you know you're going to win.

I do not attack people unless I have to becuase once you attack them you have to keep on attacking them becuase if you leave them alone for I while they will mount up troops. They also delete that file and start a new file and level up and come back at you in the future.

You don't have to keep on attacking people. I have attacked several people once only, and other players have done the same to me. So what if they get an army? If you attack someone you can handle, then you should be able to defend against them.

I am a level 50. I would estimate that I have spent at least 300 hours in this game. I would not delete my account and start another one if a whole 65-member alliance with all level 60 players started attacking all of my castles and all of my outposts.

So, I'm afraid your argument is invalid. And this is a war game. Attacking is perfectly within the rules and encouraged. You've got quests based upon this and most of the concept of an alliance adds to this PVP structure. So choosing not to attack is not a very good choice.

By the way If there is a high ranked player in your alliance ask him to do the Espionage for you then have him send it to just you he problably has more Agents a MAYBE JUST MAYBE he will do it cause you guys will have more luck in not getting caught
__________________________________________________________________________________________________
By the way when planning your attack DO NOT forget to add in an attack for the keep I have lost many battles by just forgetting the keep Remember to add some troops for the keep

You cannot put troops in the keep if you are attacking, the survivors in the fight in the walls will fight in the keep.

thats what i meant sometimed most of the troops will die at the wall so add on some more that way it will be a fair fight
