ok lets go in order..
jack, i'm not moaning. i never did moan. and i never even said i was a non ruby player.....
granted, i know. and my suggestion would only increase their earnings. it's called marketing. the more ppl you attract to play your game the more chances rubies will be bought. giving free rubies for referrals is just an incentive to get people to go self-market to their friends. what rubies they give away would be made up for and more by the new players entering the game from the referrals. please let me know if i am still not making sense, because i am trying to say it clearly; else it would be pretty poor suggestion.
i almost feel like people criticize this fact, because they don't want anyone else to get rubies. you have to remember that free rubies won't give anyone a leg-up, because the amount of rubies given for referrals would be miniscule in comparison to what is needed to use rubies effectively. people would have to refer hundreds of people in order to be as effective as the ruby buying players. and if people are out there referring 100 ACTIVE people (remember, this is a requirement for the rubies to be given for referrals) then the developers are bound to be making money on at least of few of those hundred players which makes up for the "free" rubies they are giving away.

darkdabbler,I don't say or even mean that if you don't buy rubies you should keep your mouth shut and yes there are game that doesn't need to pay but they have to get that money somewhere and GGS only get it from ruby players in this empire game and you don't see advertisements from it just want all their players have smooth gaming. They also need to pay miniclip and other sites that can make you play this game. That ridiculous advantages is just to make sure that people satisfied with their money spent and make them want to spent more.
Taron, yes your suggestion is acceptable but now GGEmpire is still a beta and need a lot of work to be done first.
But I still disagrees with this thread main suggestion

i disagree with the main suggestion of the OP as well. and i also understand that this is "beta" still and needs improvements, even though most beta's are completely free but that's neither here nor there.

granted, if u read post i was refering 2 jacksh*tlys responce, ads in game dont have 2 affect game speed/lag, and ultimatly if most people leave game because of ruby thing then no more game. there are other options 4 income from game, 1 ruby player "happy" for every 100 non ruby players "not happy" playing another game, and u think this game will last past beta??

well in my opinion, bakeries are the first thing one should buy with rubies. and then stable lvl 2. and then whatever. just those 2 alone cost a total of 42,000 rubies. 33,000 for the bakery and 9,000 for the stable. when you finally have 3 outposts you have 4 bakeries and 4 stables. so 42,000 * 4 = 168,000 rubies. so it can get expensive (at least to some people). of course, i'm not saying this is the only way to use rubies.

id like 2 c a event every week or so where they hide a stash of rubies, say 5000, in a random robber barron castle and then let every1 go hunting for it. you could do it for gold as well.

STABLE LEVEL 2 is worth it i would rather have that than slots and boosters as they last for ever.

This is stupid. I am a non ruby player and i find plenty of ways to earn rubies. I complete quests, level up, and attack rb castles. Also, a ruby player has no advantage over a non ruby player if neither one chooses to attack the other

I totally agree. Some times I need rubies to finish a quest and I have little patience and that quest could get me higher in level.I could also use rubies to speed the construction of buildings and recruitment of soldiers when I have little patience.

Speeding things up is the main advantage paying players should have.
Extra slots for everything is also perfectly acceptable for me.
Bakeries are not acceptable in my opinion. They make the difference really huge. 40% reduction in food consumption is huge.
If you produce 1000 food, you can feed 250 soldiers (I only consider strongest ones because the others are pretty useless when you are lvl 40 or above).
With a lvl 4 bakery (40% reduction), you can feed 416 soldiers.
That's almost 70% more soldiers.
That isn't a fair battle anymore.
For those saying that you have to accept there is a difference : you are right. Of course there should be a difference. But once the difference gets too big, non-ruby players will stop playing the game. And once they quit the game, there won't be a game anymore. I don't believe the game can live on ruby-players only.
Once again, no problem with advantages like speeding things up, providing extra slots and some other advantages. Concerning the bakery : I could accept that the 4th lvl is only available for ruby-players. That reduces the advantage to 10% (357 vs 416 soldiers), which is still significant concerning the fact that you can have a castle an 3 outposts : a total of almost 250 extra soldiers. The difference now is above 600 soldiers. That's huge...
To be honest : it's possible to collect in-game rubies for 4 level 1 bakeries. So you can feed 276 soldiers. The difference however is still over 500 soldiers. In my (humble) opinion : that's way too much.
I can perfectly accept that bakeries are extremely expensive for non-ruby players : expensive can also mean extra long building time. But... they should be available (to lvl 3 at least) for non-ruby players.
