[4182063] Sir Raymondo 56 (US1) [None] :: Oct. 31, 2015, 3:31 p.m.
Lighting flashes, thunder roars, the red rain falls in the enchanted woods, a thick fog slowly moves in around the trees, making dead trees seem alive, blown by the ill wind.  Bats fly from cave home, wolfves howl mornfuuly at the full moon.  Sinister forms drift about the landmarks, of the old ruins of the village.  Said to be the last place you'd wanna' on a night like this.  But the traveler is weary, hungry, wet, & cold, in need of rest & a warm fire.  Sir T.B. Rexxz is sore from his last battle with the undead armies from the underworld.  He longs for his home, has he is deep in his desires for comfort.  He spies an Inn The Red Moon, lights shining, he hears music, an errie sound of bagpipes, coming from the Inn.  He reach the front door it opens, he limps inside.  An old man at desk, asks, Do ye need a room, a bath, a hot meal, & a warm bed, me lord? It will cost ye your soul, and a little gold.  Sir Rexxz mutters ok, whatever as he sits down to a feast fit for a king. He's served the finest food & drink, entertained by the most beautiful dancing lasses he'd seem in a long long time. After eating he retires to his room. He falls asleep, dreaming fitfully dreams of horror & terror about ghosts & evil beasts he killed in the past, coming back to take him to the underworld to stay forever.  Suddenly, lighting strikes the walls of the Inn, the roof blows off & he's pulled up into a whirlwind, spinning around like a top, dizzy, confused,.  When he awakes, he sees that he is no longer at the Inn.  What is this place, where am I? the things around are not Earthy, this place is dark, hot, damp, & foggy.  He asks is this real or just a nightmare??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????  The End!!!!????????????????

Hey guys,

Thanks to everyone for taking part in this contest! There's been a lot of fantastic entries so far!

I'm gonna leave this open one more day, til tomorrow afternoon! Time to get your last minute entries in, and remember: they must be your own content, not things taken from the internet.

Have a happy Halloween!

Regards,

Steve.

I had a look through the entries and decided to give it a go. I'm not a great poet (and I'm only 12) but hey, I'll give it a shot (N.B. I didn't use the rhyming couplet 'night' and 'fright' together because that's stereotypical for a Halloween Poem  :p  )

A Halloween Recount

Running down a roof

Is a stream of blood

The drawbridge drew shut

With a rather loud thud.

The sun sets down,

There's no more light.

Who knows what creatures

May be lurking in the night.

Snarling more than usual

Are the wolves outside.

A corpse outside

Has stiffened and dried.

Blood-curdling decorations

Embellish the gate.

Nobody ought to be around

When it is this late.

Across the Keep,

A spider crawls.

A mysterious figure

Casts against the walls.

A slimy substance

Stains a tower.

Men beside the Tavern

Looks grim and dour.

All can hear the screams

In the forest of trees.

Blowing through the fields

Is the autumn breeze.

Lonely, a misty figure

Hangs out amongst the stones.

Floating in the moat

Is a collection of bones.

Villagers carve

Jack-o'-lanterns.

The children dress as

Devils and phantoms.

The Equestrian Statue

Is alive and creaking.

Around the parks,

A witch is shrieking.

Normally hectic

Is the Marketplace.

But today and tonight

There's an empty space.

Coming from the theater,*

Is a painful groaning.

Another in the the square

Continues droning.

I clearly hear three

Knocks on my door

Another pound

Adds up to four.

But, I am too busy

Fulfilling a task

"What is that?",

You may curiously ask.

It's writing this poem

By my candle and flask.

*Or 'theatre' if you're British.

One more entry. :) It's been a long time since I've put pencil to paper in creative drawing. This is an original, not to confuse it with my original entry of digital art. LOL I used a black sharpee and a piece of printing paper. :D Hope ya like it. Ugh, trying to figure out how to paste/post image. haha

My poem entry!

Enjoy,

-The Hallows Eve-

One nigh in a year,
Not often to join in each one
though it smells of fear
but none shall complain of what is done.

For all the joys, the fears, and the stains won't be undone.
'Cause all the scares, will make it through
Willed are the ones unscathed are none
You've made it through, now collect your do.

Go on and accept it too
as one is the dew as you in the night
We must go on, yes me and you
before the settling of the fright

Clenching you do in fists held tight
Deep in flee, stopping to turn
Feeling the imminent touch of light
As the evils within teem with burn.

Departure is now, time to leave
It has now been the Hallows Eve.

I hope everyone had a fun Halloween this year! I can write a 'translation', if you will, of the poem above if needed. But for now it is up to your own interpretations. Have fun with it!
