Dearest Empire community,

Writing this is difficult, so please bear with me. It's been almost 3 years of adventures, discussion and debates with you guys, and today that journey comes to an end. 

During the course of my vacation, I was left with time to consider the current situation with Goodgame Studios, the recent layoffs, and what the future has in store. It is with a heavy heart, that I have decided that the best move for me in the future, would be to step down from the position and leave the company. 

This wasn't an easy decision to make, as through all the ups and downs that we've had, I've been honored to call this place my 'home', and working with all of you (yes, even you, you know who you folks are!) has been an absolute pleasure. I can only hope that you've enjoyed having me here as much as I've enjoyed being here, and that our times together will be remembered. 

Actually, this was my first ever position as a Community Manager. After Malreyn stepped down and left control of the forums to me, I've learnt an incredible amount from all of you, and have always done my best to ensure that your voices are heard, and that you receive the information you want to receive. I know things haven't always been perfect, but I've always had you in my heart, and always will do.

GGS has given me a lot over the years, incredible friendships, great experiences, and the opportunity to work with all of you, but time waits for no man, and there's a world out there that needs exploring. Don't worry; Empire will live on, and you'll be in the amazing hands of Evoke. Rosie is a great friend of mine, and she'll do everything she can to help all of you, so please be kind to her. Of course, our forum angel Wicked will still be around to back Rosie up, which I'm very grateful for.

I'll leave this thread open and pop in over the next few days if any of you have anything you'd like to discuss with me via PM before you go, feel free to wing one my way. 

Thanks again for everything, and all the best for the future, whatever it may hold for all of you. To the moderators; thank you for always having my back and assisting me when I needed it the most. To all of you players; thanks for bearing with me during some rough times. I hope you'll all look back on our time together fondly.

Very sorry to see you go, you have been an awesome community manager, THE community manager for almost all of my time on the forum. I am not going to start spouting silly comments about wanting you to stay, as for you the game is about RL, and a job, so I'm sure it is a calculated decision that will help you to keep progressing and moving on with life.

You will be sorely missed,

Another big loss to GGS. Let's hope you return to the forums on your player account Steve (if you have one)... maybe you can share all your stories about those clueless muppets who sit and watch their precious player-data all day long!
