why do you say that? i'm logged in perfectly fine on US serverhcoates107 (US1) said:Well, it looks like correcting the Europe Servers, it is now affecting the US Server as well.
Wintermute said:Hey,
For several hours we have not been able to reach our data center and our live games have not been available. We still do not know how long the downtime will last, but here is some information about how things will progress.
As soon as we recover contact with the servers, we will take them down for about 30 minutes. This sounds counterproductive at first, but during this downtime we will pump food into all castles. Unfortunately, the server must be down, otherwise we could not do that.
Depending on how long the server disconnection lasts, we will release a compensation in the form of a blue gift some time after the servers are back online. Since unfortunately also our QA servers are not available, we will have to wait to test the parameters for the gift until they are available again (to avoid typing errors / a broken gift). We hope to get this done today of course. If the servers remain down for a long time, it may be that this solution shifts to tomorrow.
This compensation will take into account the nomads as well as today's downtime.
thankyou for the update, its appreciated. we're all understandably a little ummm distracted but having information put out on where your at with solving and compensating the issues is really helpful. genuinely appreciate the entry you've made and would like to see more of that especially during times of crisis. Keep it honest and keep it up to date and I at least might "keep calm and carry on" many of us are at a point of no return for starved troops and other issues ect but being told why something is happening takes away a little of frustration
when will what start?Umanga (CN1) said:when will it start? I mean when will we play gge as Ind sever is also down?
You better give people coins for recrute troops or troops instead of food. And what about the time you loose to forfill the eric event, and its get harder to finish the event?
Agreed. if the downtime has already been this long, why not just wait another 4-5 hours and do a roll back. will be far easier than reimbursing.Pranas (LT1) said:I think it would be better to wait more (5-6 hours) after the problem is solved. To do a rollback of databases. Then it will be no dead men, no food shortage, no free villages and so on...
So go find yourself another game.....balenseboy (NL1) said:whahahahaha they are again doing well at gge!!!!!!!! they are all large alliances once again helping!!!!!!!! While those alliances gge light up with!!!!!! really pathetic of gge!!!!! hahahaahha
Maybe you should think about making sure that when troops starve it takes the weakest first instead of the ruby troops. Would make sorting this mess a lot easier for you!!!!!! Good luck with this one !!!
Pumping food when my troops are gone..what's the purpose?
I'm really upset.
the food being pumped in will help those who had enough in stores when the servers went down and maybe reduce the number of desertions across the servers if they get a top up in time (sadly I know i'm not one of those, but hey hoe)
at this point much like phil I've accepted the fact my boys and girls have gone looking for a better restaurant and think the more important thing to focus on will be seeing how efficiently gge are going compensate the losses not only of troops but also in game time i.e. boosters, completion of seasonal events, nomads, buildings etc
I would like to suggest to gge that in an instance such as this where so many "customers" are effected over so many servers over egging the compensation would probably in long run bring you a better profit margin, as a botched compensation package that players end up having to jump through hoops to get will only push players further away from the game. You may not have created this most recent issue or be in control of the solution but you have the power to "make things right" please keep this in mind when looking at what will be offered to all players
Some players will have lost a very large number of troops, waiting on a ticket to be resolved would affect these players disproportionately to those that lost relatively few.
A rollback if now technically achievable would mean no lost troops, compensation requests etc, everyone will have been denied access for the same period of time, so it would be the "fairest" way forward as well as cleanest given there won't be weeks of ticket backlogs.

ADCS
I don't know about anyone else but I would consider the thread you closed down ....
Wander what was that thread about.
You operate a an environment directly connected with financial transactions and you have no DR? That is beyond crazy...
Like I have stated before, only fair solution is to
roll game back to this morning - regardless that we face even more downtime, then no one will loose troops or ressourcevillages due to the downtime
prolong king eric and nomads by a day
fill up food all over, so that players sleeping or working are safe
make a gift package to show, that you care about customers
This way, you wont have thousands of tickets to handle, and no player is set back in any of the running competition, nor will we have chaos about ressourcevillages on all servers.
Time to listen to players and show, that you do that.
