Once again I will say "PUT IN SOMETHING FOR THE DEFENDER!". I know I am a broke record but it would exponentially add the interest and play of this event. I don't care if the guy attacking me gets a lot of points because I don't know who it is. I do know that I am in a serious war that has a good number of enemies and if I leave up tools and troops while I sleep or work then I am asking for them to be burned, wall wiped, and destroyed. This event has an extra added level of difficulty for those in serious wars.

Serious war - one without agreed upon rules between the sides. Everything goes.

what I can't understand is why people, knowing that it is crap and won't work...continue to participate in it,...after reading about all the boo boos and errors and broken stuff, I already know that I won't send a single troop ....
Like me.  I'm not participating because I saw the glitches.  Therefore I'm one of many who can't report further bugs I guess.

8,000 defense castles, and any tools I send at it that get used are gone yet half of the commander and HoL bonuses do not work?  No thank you.  Not going to participate in an EVENT that uses up real tools and takes more waves to break a wall (and therefore 2x as many tools, or more) because GGS STILL does not hire quality developers or testers.

Seriously, GGE are the Keystone Cops of the online gaming world.
I'm not playing it either. I sent one hit of 32 soldiers in hardcore mode and got about 3-400 points. Stupid scoring system.

10-12k targets with casts as solid as mine simply will not fall to singular hits. Not worth the effort time or tools to bother trying.

Though my city comm is unaffected by all the event's glitches, so that's cool I guess.
I ended up participating anyway, if only to be able to give informed feedback in case they try to actually fix this mess.  If it's not  fixed next round, no way will I do it again.

There was a MAJOR lack of  quality control by whomever is in charge of the team that allows something like this  to roll live.  Yeah there was a test server, but this shows that nobody was  present for continuity / cross-over analysis (well, nobody competent anyway).  It's a shame because with a few upgrades to the paltry rewards and  stuff, this  has  potential.

i love that event my opinion is ,just to be fixed rank list,add more rewards more targets, all players now attack 32solders fix that and make master mode more easy and when we are takling about master mode there need to be reason that we gonna hit there . duble or triple points  give us somthing extreme . if players lose 4k solders + ruby tools they deserve something like the best attack commander in the game also i want to recieve master mode attacks +3k def them  lose my def solders same like attack one and work for the best cast in the game for example .

There is always a mess with any update, new event, changes.  And they cost us and we rarely get compensation.  We're missing our dailies, I'm not getting gifts into inventory, another player is not getting their tools into inventory, other issues that we put up with.  No quality control, no pre runs of events or updates... they say they do but as we can see it is all fiction or sent to us dysfunctional.   Off on weekends for a 24 hour game.   

You're losing us GGE.  You can see it in the numbers.  Boredom is setting in.  Aggravation with ordinary things not working, chronic problems, glitches, getting booted off, bug reports not being addressed, no compensation for legit problem losses. Players are spending less time on the game and then realize it's not so fun anymore.

A co-ordinated strike,  as a show of discontent that we are fed up.

I am sure they all work from a bug farm maybe they all studying Entomology which is the scientific study of bugs.

Does no make a difference because its a crap event and when will they sack the people who come 
up with so many bad events and rewards. o:)o:)

A full moon rises and with it the whispers of a terrifying new threat to the Great Empire. Masked cultists have crossed our borders in search of blood needed to perform their dark summoning rituals. Our spies are calling them Shapeshifters, and swear to have seen them assume the identities of castle lords throughout the kingdom. They must be stopped! These evil cultists are cunning strategists and will use the armies of the empire’s castle lords to trigger a terrible and bloody war. Watchmen on the castle towers are already reporting enemy armies appearing outside our walls. Clearly, these are not times for the faint-hearted, so sharpen your swords and prepare for battle. If the cultists gather the blood they need for their dark rituals, who knows what vicious beasts they will summon to our lands…

  Attack of the Shapeshifters event is on its way… Make some noise!

  • Attack of the Shapeshifters is a new Player versus Player event where you can use different strategies in order to win great rewards.
  • All players level 30 and above can participate in this event.
  • The path to these mangled castles is treacherous and hard to follow, so although these castles will appear near your main castle, they will actually be at a travel distance of 150. 
  • These castles are reflections/live copies of other players from your server. Once you attack a Shapeshifter totem, the attack will be reflected for the player who represents this totem. This can happen to you if someone attacks the Shapeshifter totem which reflects your castle too!
  • You can change the defense set-up, change equipment and make other adjustments necessary to win the battle against the incoming attack, and all these adjustments will be reflected for your enemy. But remember that when you’re the attacker, the Shapeshifter totem owner can also change their defense setup.
  • There will be two types of currencies in the Attack of the Shapeshifter event, which you can redeem for great rewards :

    • Shapeshifter charms

    • Shapeshifter insignias

Until now it all sounds like real Player versus player battles, but as it is a new event and a new system we will have some very important features to make it even more fun:

  • Players will not see the name of the Shapeshifter reflection; neither you nor your opponent will see the name of the attacker/defender. The incoming attack movement will be anonymized for the player receiving the attack.
  • All units will wear specific masks. Spying the totem you will not see specific units, but only the type of units: Shapeshifter sharpshooter (range) or legionnaire (melee) units. For example, all ranged offense and defense units will be combined under new Shapeshifter ranged units, but every specific unit will keep his strength during the battle.
  • It is possible to attack each Shapeshifter totem only once a day. Be careful because opponents around your castle swap at the beginning of the next day.
  • Alliance members will not be able to help you to defend the castle. Support troops from your brothers in arms will not be included in the defense during the battle with Shapeshifter. As a player you'll have access to the Shapeshifter view in order to properly set up your event defenses.
  • One of the most interesting aspects of this event lies in the consequences players will face after battles. After the battle the defender will keep his/her troops, tools or resources, his/her buildings will not be burned or destroyed, even if the defender loses the battle.
  • From the other side, the attacker will also keep his/her units after a successful or unsuccessful attack. The attacker will get an opportunity to enter Hard mode. In this mode, you can enable additional difficulties for a higher event point gain, but in return, troops of the attacker will be lost when they die during the attack on the Shapeshifter totem.
  • There is a matchmaking system in place that tries to match you with players of similar strength.
  • Attacking the Shapeshifters will bring you event points, out of a brand new point system, just for this event.
We understand that you have tonnes of questions about this new event. This is just an early teaser about the attack of the Shapeshifter. We will collect all your questions and try to answer them as far as possible. Remember, that some information we would still like to keep secret to give you the freedom to fully experience the event, trying different strategies and tactics and we really hope that we can give you a lot of freedom in this new event.

We plan to introduce the event in the game with one of the next updates - most likely in January 2018. More information on this topic will follow later.

I was 4th with 10128 points in int2 server, but idk. what I got as reward. But in hardcore mode I lost many tools and troops. Where is the price value ratio?

Not to be rude but this is probably one of the dumbest events ever based on time. When you think about it, most people got excited the first couple days but after a few days, nobody hits the Shape Shifters. Here at DT2, I'm not sure how everyone else is doing on the but I know im satisfied with 2nd place. I haven't hit any since the first day. D:

I know I criticized the Shapeshifter event, but I think this is actually a good event from GGS.  I didn't do much this round but I do think once the equipment is revealed I might put effort into getting it.  Also, not allowing alliance help forced players to either know how to defend or abandon-ship which I genuinely liked because it made defeating a Shapeshifter possible.

Things to improve;

1. better rewards. so far its just okay.  I hope the commander is strong and specialized like the Bloodcrow but not unbeatable like the Fly's Eye/Winged Knight hybrid set.

2. time. the distance between us and the castle we're attacking should be reduced to 100 clicks from 150.  An 1hr attack is a bit too long in my opinion and closing the gap forces people to be active.

I know I criticized the Shapeshifter event, but I think this is actually a good event from GGS.  I didn't do much this round but I do think once the equipment is revealed I might put effort into getting it.  Also, not allowing alliance help forced players to either know how to defend or abandon-ship which I genuinely liked because it made defeating a Shapeshifter possible.

Things to improve;

1. better rewards. so far its just okay.  I hope the commander is strong and specialized like the Bloodcrow but not unbeatable like the Fly's Eye/Winged Knight hybrid set.

Nah, pts are fine. I send 1k to the hard ones and switch it to hard. 200 losses and up to 1k pts. I've seen people get as much as 3k pts in 1 hit. I do think that the fact that people send minimum troops and get 200 or so pts is so dumb though.

I personally enjoyed it.  I played it every day and improved across the event.  I have a better sense of both setting attacks and defending them than I did previously.  In terms of leveling the playing field it did a far job of that compared to the processional events we've got used to.  En1 looked to have been won by syf from Real Steel last I saw though may have changed not a winner from one of the top two alliances.  Some though not all of their players tried but it was much more spread than in normal competitions.  If you put the time in you get better.  There will clearly be changes but I would much rather keep that and bin FI or BC which are only ever won by one or two alliances or one or two players those events are moribund and pretty much everybody has the equipment from FI many times over.  I suspect it's top alliances whose grip was a bit shaky on this event who are trying to end it.  It's more interesting then Berimond and much harder to cheat which has to be a promising direction of travel.  Some very very good things about it maybe over shadowed by the testing element. I'd make a few changes based on actual playing experience.

1.  Four days run time Thursday to Sunday
2.  Points for defending
3.  Points reduction for every wave less than full waves sent or starting point bonus for every troop you send 32 you get significantly less.  
4.  Review hard mode I used it once and still finished in top 50 (I think)  so I'm not sure how much difference it makes unless you are going to be prepared to loss a lot of armies or more importantly can afford to.  You have top top end players who dropped mixed with resource players so for it to be as balanced as it was this time good that a massive advantage can't be bought.  
5.  Clarify the tool loss situation or more likely to spend tools on this than on PVP against a player in an alliance that has admitted to cheating but I'd like to have a rough idea of spend.
6.  Run the event once a month to build a sense of anticipation and allow us to build armies.  I'll recruit armies for a regular event but might buy them for a more occassional event if I can be competitive and get benefit from it.  

Feels a step in the right direction to me   It isn't perfect but I felt you were upfront that it wouldn't be and honestly it was a lot more interesting than nomads, Sams, FI, Berimond or BC and certainly closer to where the original Berimond was.  Whilst it's hard to tell from a first running seemed to me that the strength was a lot more evenly spread across the server player wise rather than alliance wise at least.  Having the chance to be mildly competitive in this type of event was a pleasant surprise.  I've never worried as much about bugs and glitches the core of the idea has promise my advice stick with it.
