The points earned makes no sense. You beat a poorly defended defended castle and get way more points than beating a well defended castle. So, as a result how your score depends on 'luck of the draw' of the weaker castles you can hit each day. I had one with over 27000 defenders.. a bit of overkill...lol
I recall somewhere this event was meant to encourage better pvp attacking and defending skills. Really? So what's the point of battle reports with no info?

Ok I played a little, here is feed back:
Plus: You don't need to click like mad at least 6 hours per day for this event or be online for whole days for good result, like samu, beri, nomads, FC/BC.
Minus: everything else...sorry, but those who want PvP do PvP
and is much more excited..

I dont agree Pvp used to be about one of 2 things, outside war.
Pvp used to be about gaining your glory ranking, and maintaining a high honour ranking. That really used to be the only real purpose behind it other than being a nuscience. I remember clearly the first time I gained terrible title, it was a big achievment for me, and 2 or so good PVP hits per week were needed to maintain the ranking.
Unfortunatly those 2 things have been massivly devalued over the years, Whats the point in PVP when you can get your glory up 10 times higher by hitting FI's than you could ever do hitting real players, the same is true with stacking castles. And as for Honour, well its become a bit of a joke, firstly you need to be in a big alliance (which was always true) not necessarily to get the honour, but to have the 24 hr support necessary to keep it. And secondly Honour is just another thing that can be farmed, and passed between players if they want.
Then of course there was war, where PVP was used to prove who was stronger, it was also used to protect and take assets within the game. Now most of those assets are worthless, Metros have limited value, still have one but but seen a massive devaluation, over the last few years food production has increased around 250%-300% I remember when an 8 Food OP producing 10,000 was huge Now that figure would be around 30,000. so in essance metros are 2.5x 3x less valuable as they used to be. And capitals once THE Prize asset are effectivly worthless other than somwhere else to store troops. Ie a rubbish 4th OP.
All in all the reason to partake in PVP have one by one taken away or devalued. There were always reasons. And Now GGE trot a new event out to try and bring some of that back.
Firstly I am getting no where near 5 attacks a day from this event, so I am guessing I am not the only one non plussed with it. and when i get attacked not many are actually proper hits, i would say 60% are 32 troops hits. 20% are totally untooled hits and the remaining 20% are proper hits.
Secondly the skill in PVP USED to be about stalking your prey, If it was Honour you were hunting it would be about lining up your target finding a time they were less likley to be online, watching loot scores etc. and hitting them from a short a distance as possible etc. If it was glory you were hunting, it required very different skills, it would be about lining up your target, it would also be about knowing your target and their alliance, how well the alliance supported, then trying to judge what the best distance / speed to hit them from, how much late detect to use. whether to send on coin or half ruby or full ruby horses. To give the alliance time to send some support but not so much support your hit gets totally destroyed.
It was about gambling, can i take the wall in 3 waves and then use waves 5 & 6 for banners etc. Do i really think they are offline so should i send banners in the undefended flanks etc. The rewards were great, if setup didnt change but if it did it meant you basically got smashed killed hardly anything, and lost all your troops and tools. So there was a very real risk / reward thing going on.
there was jepordy for the defender ie if they got the defense wrong, they burned, they lost honour, or they lost res. Or they got their alliance mates troops killed for them. There was a very real very tangible reason to defend well and properly, to minimise your losses and the losses of your friends. There was a tangible reason to work very hard to get as strong a set of casts as possible so you not a liability to your alliance mates.
In this event there is no reason to defend, save the curiosity of seeing how well you can defend. There is no jeperdy if you mess it up, non of that heart racing adrenaline, you get when u see an incoming attack knowing if you mess it up its gonna hurt. The only point a casual interest out of curiosity, or maybe a stronger curiosity for those wanting to polish their defensive skills.
And as for attacking? whats the point? I dont gain honour. I dont gain any glory, non of the benefits help to make me stronger. Maybe if i am lucky I will end up with 80 or so bits of sand or brick which of course is useful. and maybe a 230 PO Item But it will cost me a fair bit in terns of tools and potentially troops to get that. And If you compare it to say Sams thats about the same sand / bricks etc a I would get by hitting about 20 Sams camps yet for that I can use wood tools would lose no more than about 400 troops, I would also gain troops and tools, and time skips. and enough tokens to buy a 220 PO Deco. plus assuming my alliance is doing the same thing I also get more troops more tools / more skips, loads of coin / rubies for the alliance. etc.
If I decide to push harder still I have the chance to buy a great cast, win parts for a good commander, Buy Defensive tools (nails etc) buy decos, buy troops Not to mention Construction res. I also have the chance to win, High level gems, and high PO Decos, personally and as an alliance.
Not to mention at the same time as I am doing all this my 20 sam hits get me (dependant on Comm and random nature of return) around
613,000 coin, 1.4M normal Res, 1.4M Food, 140,000 iron. So yeah factor in all that. yeah I would say 15 days to gain around 80 bits of sand, and a 230 deco, at a cost of Up to 250,000 troops and 25,000 tools assuming you lost a full 6 wave army on each of your 5 hits on each of your 15 days on hard level. Is not really a very productive way to spend my time.
I really do hope they find a way to make it work, but damn it needs a lot of work !

This is a horrible excuse of an event; it's clear that it is an attempt to make up for the fact that you want to cave to the people who won't defend in the alliance tourney, but can't find a way to do so properly.
Instead, you try and give people masks like a masquerade ball, change their troops, and tell people to attack like that makes it better. Here's a thought, just bring back the alliance tourney and take this mess away. It was poorly executed, thought out, presented (and explained) to the game. It has no clear path for rewards beyond some mythical equipment set in the future that no one knows the stats of and may live up to the hype of storm island, if we're lucky.
The fun of PvP is that you don't know where your enemy is coming from. I can attack someone 50 clics or 800 from me, you don't get the long horn if it's close to me but you do if it's longer. ALSO, I get to prepare for the alliance support if it's longer so I get more glory by flagging it at that point.
I won't go into detail about the amount of time this event requires to set up a true attack. I have to constantly check troop strength if I want to attack one castle while I have a majority of defense troops committed to memory. This isn't fun, which PVP is supposed to be. It's why I joined the game and one of the few reasons I (and others) stay.
The alliance tourney is one of the few events that our alliance shined at, heck it's one of the few we ever won on US1. When you have seasoned war vets and PVP guys in this thread and others telling you that this event sucks, hopefully you'll look at what you've made and realized you should be focusing on the events that have become a success, and that people long for, before making stuff people don't want.

3) Can you please, for the love of anything holy, update rewards/equipment in FL/BC?
4) Do you know any other day than Tuesday-Thursday for berimond?
5) Berimond in green?

I have better idea.. If I see attack on me I will leave no castellan equipment no tools and 10k defenders; so, anyone who need blood points can get them easy .. my defenders will remain anyway..

Thumbs down on this event, troops attacking me is greater than BC/FL and spy report for me to attack them have larger troop count than I can attack back even with 5th wave. And, what about the courtyard!
Seems to be combination of RB's and FL in greater troop numbers and you are on your own; which I don't mind if numbers are reasonable.
Is this a for sure, full steam ahead event? Needs re-thinking!

Calculates the troops as though they are kingsguard... So if you have stronger than that, then you will have more troops on the wall. Nice job GGE cant fix or remove the bad event but takes less than an a day to notice a bug that helped us. Only got hotfixed cause we were able to send tools without troops in middle and flank and when they returned they doubled in inventory. We were sending 600 and making 600 more shield walls per attack. They dont care about the issues with the event that hurt us, just the one that gave us something.

What steel said and id like to add your defense setup screen has a check box to change to shapeshifter setup and will show the increased troop count after they turn vet d into weaker kg troops.

very hard on tools some have not come back even if not used
