so what about compensating players for the many MILLIONS of glory they lost as you took it from them for nothing, how about a 3,000 horsetails and 9,000 horrors and giving me 3 8000+ castles in FI so i can get the lost glory back ?

or do you expect ME to Fund that  for something you took of me for nothing?

   Then event is pointless why waste good tools attacking fake targets for little or no rewards, As far as learning how to defend 9 out of ten times I was not on line but even if I was most attacks are not even tooled after the first day.

   Just recognize you made a bad update and pull the event because most of your client base do not want to be bothered with this garbage.

The hardcore multipliers are too low, not worthing the risk.
Also the difference between winning or losing a battle is not very stimulating.
And those decos are for low level players...
The only good thing is that you can hit those dolls from protection mode - maybe we should be able to do so in all events.
for that , why play . Stay on the bird , never get attacked , but stay in the ranks . I think its bull crap that birded players are allowed to even hit sami or nomad events . You do NPC , and get all the coin and resource with no risk of getting attacked , but a player like me , has to juggle war , glory , nomad and sam , and monthly , and put it all at risk if I miss my 12 hour window .

There should be an option for players to choose whether they want to participate in this event or not. Some people might not want to be startled by an fake incoming attack and whatnot (aka me). The event should be an attention grabber, not an event that players groan at. Maybe have a better selection of prizes and higher loot for players who don't want to activate hardcore mode.

I understand what you mean. Some people may not want to see the incoming. They could easily just put in an option to hide horns and defensive battle reports from the event. Wouldn't take you out, but would take care of that part of the event.

For those who complain about getting nothing for defending I recently noticed that you can actually get gold coins if you win a defensive battle which makes sense considering that it can cost gold coins as well to launch attacks on the totems. That may be the only thing you can get back for defending besides learning how to defend, but at least it is something you can get back in return for defending good as well.

[4884184] Diavolo (US1) [US1] :: Dec. 18, 2017, 6:01 a.m.
How can I judge this event if I don't have commander PvP bonuses?
We need tools specific to the shapeshifters like we have tools specific to invaders/bloodcrows.
invader ladder, invader ram and invader mask make it easier.
Shape shapeshifter versions would help a lot.

Reduce the distance between shapeshifter castles and ours.
God, no. No. No. No. We do not need more stupid highly specific tools that do nothing other than clutter up the inventory. We can't even delete tools, which makes the problem all the worse.

Stop.

How come I don't show up on the rankings for the Shapeshifter insignias despite earning points?
I'm not exactly an expert on this event, kind of confusing to me, but I believe you need to hit 5 shapeshifters before you can be ranked. The rank is determined by your best series of 5, so if you haven't attacked 5 of them yet you did not complete a series, giving you no rank.
I think that you have to use hardcore mode in order to be ranked and gain insignias, but that is only just a guess.
No. Just hit all 5 totems in one day. You'll get ranked.

[4884188] Diavolo (US1) [US1] :: Dec. 18, 2017, 6:07 a.m.
Well @Herveus (AU1) Thats a bug coz I was able to. 5 mins before it landed too

lol will try
You can turn hardmode on and off. If you turn it on for one attack, then off, that attack is still tagged as hardmode. Any attack you send in hardmode - after agreeing to the box - stays in hardmode, even if you turn it off for the next attack. So you can actually switch it on, send an attack, switch it off, send a normal attack, switch it back on, etc., etc.

That's about the only thing programmed correctly.

In terms of the event rather than quitting on it I have stuck with it as an increasing number of players seem to be doing as participation on En1 at least is increasing day by day.

I've sent fifteen attacks so far and my experience is you can space your attacks whilst also participating in other events without losing a significant amount of performance.  In fact my performance improved.  I recorded my best weekly loot score this week 6th - admittedly half the server is at war which helped - and was 4th in Samurai whilst participating and 15th in the LTPE.  I have improved in each round and gradually improved my placing as I've come to understand what is required.  If you actually use the event as trainer in terms of understanding how top defences and attacks are structured it actually is useful.  You can tweak and experiment with set ups without losing anything or bringing down the WRATH of top alliances on your alliance or yourself.  I can see for top alliances they probably would view it as redundant as they get the real thing but for those of us looking to improve further down I'm of the view based on actually experiencing the event that it will help me and players in my alliance improve.

If the commander and castellan stats can be fixed - which should be fixable I'd have thought - if the tools being lost issue can be fixed then I think actually it represents a nice change of pace which doesn't massively impact on overall game play but does give a more interesting challenge than FI or BC which really is just hitting bigger towers.

I'm not sure when we became like trained pets constantly needing rewards to perform but that dependence is a bit worrying coming from players who constantly recite the mantra of it being a war game.  PVP as I experienced it initially was about the challenge and status not another commander to sit in storage.  This is closer to what I remember PVP originally being which was you got your target you spied them you set your attack up then sent and waited not sure whether anything would come back.  I don't remember PVP as being one attack of 2K taking out 18K of 37K defence.  This as an event is actually better balanced than PVP currently is and is closer than PVP is to what we used to experience.

I do not find the event easy and that's why I'll stick with it until I feel I can master it.  I understand and appreciate what the designers were trying to achieve and whilst the scoring needs looking at it has potential.  PVP is really dead to all intents and purposes killed by multi's and password sharing and that's player behaviour to blame not GGE and a lot of the issues with the event outside of the technical issues which I feel will be fixed are down to player behaviour.  That's the not participating, the sending 37 troops etc.

If we want the alliance tournament back players need to simply stick to rules.  Perhaps if players didn't force developers to waste time fixing player created problems they might have more time to spend on developing the game.  PVP is simply unsafe and unstable and until it rebalances this event offers in my view a viable and challenging alternative.  I was convinced before I am now.

[4884293] STEVIEBEANZ (GB1) [GB1] :: Dec. 18, 2017, 12:01 p.m.
Just out of sheer boredom I decided to do a semi serious attack

-Full hardcore mode on, every option (+275%)
-2328 attackers (800 elite guard knight, rest Heavy Crossbow) V 2281 defenders
-Plain old mantlets/ladders/wooden rams
-Cast was a 80/90 with 30 CY
-Defence setup was 30-40-30 for some reason
-I won with 101 survivors, lost 2227
-Received 1053 red points and 6 blue things

Compare it to a 32 man hit on a decent castle with hardcore turned on -something like 150-350 red points, 4 blue points

So... If I do the serious hit 5 times in a day, maybe I'll end up with 5000 red points - that gets me 600 insignias per day currently

But if I just do the 5 x 32 man hits on hardcore, ill end up with about 1000 red points, giving me 340 insignias a day.

I think they need to adjust the amount of daily insignias given out. It seems daft that I could just send 5 x 32 man hits and get over half the insignias of someone who could feasibly lose 5 armies worth of soldiers and tools

Agreed but your sending the attack gives them the data to justify making those changes.  It's an experiment if we embrace we have a chance to influence the outcome if we haven't participated fully then our view will carry about as little weight as an attack of 32 sent by feather.

[4884301] Batten (GB1) [GB1] :: Dec. 18, 2017, 12:14 p.m.
And what makes the event particularly interesting is that it isn't predictable in the way FI / BC/ Nomads / Sams are majority of players regardless of alliance have at least a shot at this stage.  Syf is a level 379 from Real Steel whose outscored all our vaunted level 800 players whose I can't be bothered looks more like I'm scared to be shown up right now.  I don't think anybody whose played for a while would have any doubts about Wowfabgroovy from Odins leading again not a level 800 but a talented technical player with good game understanding same with Callum.  There are some very gifted En1 server players sprinkled across the top fifty from a range of alliances.  Admittedly Praetorians who are the best event alliance being able to participate would probably change things standings wise but maybe not as much as people think.  I'm not using hard mode and can exceed my honour ranking so relatively pleased so far and interested to see how things develop.  Most interesting event position wise I;ve seen for a long long time and nice to see different players doing well.  I'm not sure why other alliances and players don't see that as of value.

nah If they'd tested the thing properly BEFORE LAUNCH they would have realised how stupid it is that you can phone in 5x32 man attacks and get approximately 40% the value of the 1st place reward or 60% of the reward of someone making a proper effort and losing 10k+ troops, 1000s of tools. If they want us to do their beta testing they need to give us more free troops and tools

[4884390] dandelion1958 (GB1) [GB1] :: Dec. 18, 2017, 2:24 p.m.
LOL I said over a week ago that if you get nothing from defence why bother - and am right - a couple of players from my alliance have done some attacks but the rewards don't even cover the cost of lost tools - might do 5 x 32 man attacks blind (no spy) on last day but other than that i'n not even bothering defending - PS i've removed my ruby tools from the walls as i don't trust ggs to not glitch this up !

Shapeshifters is a silly event.........won't play it again

Whatever you do with this event, the red horn needs to go.

as for me, I think it is another stupid attempt to get people to buy rubies. This game has went to shit, sorry if the truth hurts. You add new stuff, and don't fix the existing problems. seems like you want all of us to say screw it, and quit.

[4884491] We_Ner (US1) [None] :: Dec. 18, 2017, 4:01 p.m.
I am having a fantastic time destroying as many armorer tools as possible from the idiots that send tooled attacks. I love leaving 3 wall up and coaxing tools to totem then changing to flanks and leaving 1% in the middle. I caught 450 armorer tools this AM off one dummys attack and he only killed 1400 of 12k and got no points for it....haha. I never send a single tool at any totem, i send 32 at the 3 wall toolburners and send down undefended with 6 waves on the ones who arent. Both those scenarios result in pretty much same exact points and 100% the same store tokens. This is th stupidest event ive ever seen and theres not a single reason to play it correctly. The only losers in this event are the ones who try to attack and tool correctly.... Just a sad sad effort at a new event. Maybe this time with 99% negative comments they will change it, but with the cost of tools and the loss they are seeing i have to assume they will leave it as is. Just to make more money from those who are dumb enough to participate correctly.

edit: you can get a good idea whos hitting you from the commander names you can see in the details of your defense battle report.
edit2: Just wiped another 435 armorer tools bringing todays total close to 900 burnt armorer tools in 2 attacks lmao
