You may think that its a waste of time but quite frankly I enjoy it and I never have spent a single cent to play it... There are other ways of getting to the top than buying rubies you just have to find out how... Just saying

Or any Elder Scrolls game.

Or most high quality AAA rated games.

Yes, I get the idea. lolPetyr Baelish (IN1) said:There are plenty of non challenging MP games that are easy.Mr.assassin2 (US1) said:When I refer to reaction based game-play, I'm not referring to look sensitivity. Your more casual players will struggle far more in genres such as racing, FPS(and 3rd person), and so on. These games rely on the person playing the game to have decently fast hand-eye coordination, and be able to react to things within the game itself fast enough for them to be successful, something that isn't as important in games such as GGE(with an exception to only the more advanced areas of the game) Sure you have to click through lots of things, and that does require good timing, however the images are static, where as some people might struggle with say halo, battlefield, gears of war, or forza... especially flying aircraft where you gotta be doing multiple things at once to not get torn up(If not simply crashing and dying). Sure at the higher ends of GGE where you get 100+ incomings for a mass attack, it takes teamwork, timing, luck, and skill. Though, in general these things are often required much more so in those other genres of games. Slowing down the look sensitivity is okay for starters, however taking 3-5 seconds to turn around in-game vs half second will get you owned by more experienced players, as mentioned earlier though some people simply for one reason or another may not be able to have reaction times fast enough to do that, which would make a game like GGE more suitable towards them. The issue is though, is that GGE probably costs more than any other game to play MMO wise or is one of the more expensive ones out there, and is near the bottom of the list in regards to actual game quality. People play(and pay) because they know others in-game, w/o that the game is dead.Petyr Baelish (IN1) said:Actually, Gamestop offers bundles where you can get five games and a xbox360/ps3 for about 125-180.Mr.assassin2 (US1) said:What is think is that, the OP hit this nail right on its head.
GGE is made addictive, game devs consult people about how to make the games addicting.
The addicting part is not the game itself but the social interactions within it.
Xbox Live was free last weekend and i have to say, when i played Halo 3/4, Battlefield 3/4 and others i enjoyed myself immensely more so in terms of actual gameplay than i have had in GGE in years.
Lets see, for a 360/ps3 you spend anywhere form 50-150 on a console, that comes with the basics, and 1 controller, maybe a game or two, and then either 60 dollars a year for xbox live, or free on ps3, and you can spend far less on that than GGE and have much more fun.
In regards to which audience these games are catered to, i think GGE is more for the real time gamers, who aren't the best for quick reaction time based gameplay. Many games however come to mind, that are still far superior to GGE, not to mention the countless games on Steam and so on.
I would equate GGS to Apple and GGE to the iphone, over-priced, inferior, and overhyped except it runs some of the crappiest OS instead of Apples actually good software
And yeah... steam is soooo much better than this. The only time I play GGE is spare moments where theres not enough time to play anything else.
About quick reaction times though... thats what difficulty sliders are for in games
World of Warcraft. (still cheaper than GGE)
You can play with friends on GTA V, The Ship. ARK, minecraft, you get the idea.
Plenty of easy games.

GGS in total made more money in the 1st half of 2014 than they did in all of 2012 and 2013 put together.GGE made 200 million euros in 2014.FabulousMUSHY (AU1) said:They are not greedy, they have a site and a server to pay for and maintain. People also complain about the maintenance all the time too but I would prefer to play where site owners are active and back up database etc daily....
Thats double from 2013.
When people start mentioning sites and servers, thats when I know they don't know what they're saying.
If you go to apply this same rate of growth(which GGS has stated they intended to do in the second half of 2014), it means GGS is getting dam near 1 billion in earnings by the end of this year if not surpassing that.

Once you're aware of the motivations behind much of what GGE does, it's up to you to set your limits and abide by them, and either accept or reject the implications for your game.
I spend about US $4 on this game every month.
I am disappointed sometimes when new events pop up and it's immediately clear that I won't be able to play them because of my spending limit, or I will have to choose between events because of it, but so it goes. I do approve of the increasing amounts of alliance rewards and other freebies lately. Seems like a positive step to help non-ruby buyers get more out of their games.
Sometimes the game does feel more like work than play, but that has less to do with GGE and more with the feeling of obligation that comes with being in the leadership of an alliance.
If you are fed up with the game, quit playing. If you are spending too much, stop doing that.

Second, if you can't do the events without buying rubies, you're just bad at this game.

So, what exactly is the nature of your complaint, then? You say GGE is "a greedy money grab," I assume because you believe one needs to buy rubies to be competitive, but you don't buy rubies because you don't need them because you're so awesome.Petyr Baelish (IN1) said:I don't spend money on this game.Malorie Knox (US1) said:Once you're aware of the motivations behind much of what GGE does, it's up to you to set your limits and abide by them, and either accept or reject the implications for your game.

Either GGE is greedy and forces everyone to buy rubies to play the game well, or they don't.
Being bad at this game and not spending every waking minute on it are two different things.

Excuse me if I am being nit-picky...but have to comment on this...of neph (IN1) said:and i have completed all games in xbox(call of duty world at war, amazing spider man2,max the curse of the brotherhood, alen wake).
If you have 100% completed every single game on xbox, you should have like 2 million gamerscore or more...and will have needed to complete over 2000 games. Some achievements like Seriously(1.0, 2.0, 3.0) require as much as 100,000 kills in ranked matches..something that would on its own consume several months of time, unless you are playing rigged matches.
No one to my knowledge has played every single game 100% through...and there are only 2 ppl at 1 million gamerscore, and the 1st person to do so, did that in 2014
This isn't to count the fact you would have to spend more money than negan buying all those games and DLC, and more time than dannielbanister on an xbox for almost 10 years straight.
Im sure you could be in the 100k club, its much more common, but every game on the platform is a dishonest exaggeration.

ccknoeppel, we agree on a couple of things here. But I really can't hear you because your dishonorable actions against one of my members, attacks twice in 3 days in EW is so dishonorable, I cannot hear your opinion clearly. Become honorable in the game and then someone might get behind you.....like me.

I used to buy rubies. I spend very little time really playing this game.
I'm currently in the top 50 in the foreigners event on my server, and in a nobility event for getting glory points.
I also ended in the top 50 in the nomad and sumarai events.
You really didn't respond to my argument; you just posted ignorant comments.

baelish; if you feel, that you are addict and for that you spend too much money for games, should you get some help?
i have been played this over year now, and i have used money just ones,20€. its all up to you what you do.
its so funny, that every game that includes this possibility to get more power or gain up faster with money, theres players who are pissed off about that.
just so stupid.
everythin cost money, and gge actually made this good game, and they do well to keep it running etc.
what do you say if i told that i paid 30€ from OrangeBox? i think its too much such an old games and steam is greedy.but still i want that to finnish HL serie.

There's a difference between success and playing competitively.
You CAN be successful without rubies, but you can't competitive.
(Depending on the server and your level)
Understand?
