Topic: [287666] is GGE becoming a virtual casino for kids?

I believe that the option to directly buy tickets for the wheel of fortune with rubies makes it a gambling game and should as such should be removed from an all audience game and have a fair way of gaining tickets that does not involve buying tickets with rubies and rubies with money.
I believe it is criminal and highly immoral.

I am quite keen to hear what others have to say about the matter including GGE

You can get tickets from the mercenary tent.

Gambling has now been introduced again with the new Samurai event.  I always thought this was a game of skill,  not a lottery.

Super comms and purchasable experience points took the skill out of the game a long time ago.

I noted the gambling in the wheel event and now the samurai event in a discussion with my alliance mates. It didn't seem to concern any of them. The game masters are trying to make addicts of us to do...what people do to addicts. I'm slowly stockpiling wheel tickets and turning these samurai camps into a fourth outpost for myself. Bought rubies do not enter into it.

I must admit that I love the new card game with the Samurai event. I get this wave of excitement when I hit one camp cuz then I get to go take a chance at the path of enlightenment and skies the limit. I could see this as a dangerous thing. I love it and want it to stay but yep it is gambling.

yeah the card game is fun but they should have less x in the game

i agree, with the OP.

BRB can be in the military at 18/19/20 but can't legally drink alcohol.

BRB Gotta wait til 21 to go to a casino or party in Las Vegas, but can spend 10x more in GGE at the age of being in grade school...

Its just stupid stuff that doesn't make sense.

I agree, the wheel of fortune is left 100% to chance, and you use rubies to buy the tickets and you feel like, "Oh yea, I'll lose the jackpot, but if I get enough tickets and rubies I'll get into pro mode then I can get all the other prises after spending $10 on something that doesn't exist! Yay!"
Just like a casino.

Having had recent correspondence with the UK's gambling commission I can confirm that these games ARE  "games of chance" and the prizes received DO HAVE "monetary value" as defined in other parts of the game such as special offers. This means it does fall under the UK Gambling Act 2005. further more I also intend to bring  this to the attention of the American gambling Association and the German Government as this is a violation of the interstate treaty on social gaming.
Also if anyone needs advice on seeking refund for monetary losses through this unlicensed gambling or more importantly through under age gambling, I am more than happy to advice on how to go about the litigation process.

1- this is an online and international game, it does not fall subject to the laws of 1 country, especially countries like the USA or UK where the company is not even based. it gets way more complicated then that.

2- im just gonna doubt that UK gambling commission story. show some proof?

3- its a free game that gives random prizes for free. you can use rubies to earn the right to play again  faster or easier, but its not actually betting money of any sort. if your gonna try and get this banned, you should first go and ban games like "uno" or "poker", because they include just as much chance (unless you stack the deck :))

I do not seek the abolition or "banning" merely an adjustment to the way one would go about entering such competitions.

As for the operating in different countries they ae based in Germany hence follow German laws which if  you look up you will see they have breached several including "The Inter State Treaty".

They do have to follow the laws of the lands in which they conduct their business and they have come to UK via the internet and landed via peoples PC's such as mine.

I have no need or want to prove who I have contacted as that is completely unnecessary to achieve the goal I have previously stipulated in this message.

Hey guys,

Sorry, but this has come up many times before, especially regarding the Wheel of Fortune. I can assure you that everything is in order here, and nothing illegal is going on.

Every time you play the Wheel of Fortune, you exchange your rubies for a prize of equal or higher value. There's no risk involved.

Cheers for the concern, but everything's sound, I assure you.

Regards,

Steve.

Nice try Steve, I've already contact the relevant authorities, they are not of the same opinion.

And "revelant authorities" would be . . .

him and his big brain apparently

steve just said when you play games like that, your winning prizes of equal or greater value. there is a CHANCE that you will win a smaller prize, but then there is also a CHANCE that you will win a bad piece of gear when attacking a tower. there is a bit of chance in every game.
