We have been experimenting with everything from Ice Castas to Full Moat Casta's nothing holds the wall that we have trialled to date. Especially if the attacker has bonus tools i.e. 46 instead of 40. 

Anyone? 

We have been able to limit the losses - but the wall is just a forgone conclusion. 

@CM Arcanine Whats the point for defenders here? Its cheaper to Open Gate or just move all defenders out and let the hit occur.

use the fully upted ice defender and use only mellee and the expensive nomads def tools 4 times and use gems for extra men on the wals and centercourd buth defencing an attack of 6 waves than you also need 10k def min
so if you see an inkomming attack of godcom and 6 waves better invest the 450 rubies than
mutch cheaper and you dont lose 6k def

20 k support and a good reader of the game , or in my case fire cast with reduced resource loss

You can get an extra tool slot with hall of legends. This gives a total of 5 tool slots on a flank. If you put lime bombs in them and use a good cast together with full melee defense ( vet flame bearers) you can lower your losses during defense. 

But like Philippe already said, it's better to just use 450 rubies for open gate.

There is still a few things you haven't tried, I cant really go giving too much away tho can I lol.

Maybe try swapping hall points to defence? with about 200 hall points in defence I came fairly close to holding gate vsing 6 waves. presuming I would do it easily now.

It really depends on the attacker, and how well tooled the attack is, ie has the attacker got greedy with glory banners etc.  Do they have any of the glory / berrimond bonus's  if they have both and are using horrors they its going to be tough to hold the wall against a well tooled attack.

All you can do it try to pick a weakness in the attack and defend accordingly, using the defensive side of the HOL helps, but its impossible to give generic advice on how to defend, you have to tailor your defense to what you see coming at you.  And you have to hope they made a mistake on the attack tooling, leaving a weakness you can exploit, or if hey got greedy with glory banners etc.  Or dont have any flank or Front gems etc.

But it is possible to defend the wall against 6 waves, if the attacker has got a bit greedy (ie by having no front or flank gems) or has used too many banners.

But against a well balanced well tooled 6 wave att, its pretty much impossible (unless you have lots of defensive HOL bonus active ie 5 tool slots on flank).  All you can do is pack the keep with as many troops as possible!!!!

LOL hey Lesky. I imagine its a fair bit easier when you can spend 100k in rubies to do a quick reset of HOL. Perhaps its just a case of all in attack so you can retaliate quickly lolz.

Easier just to rake, not everyone with 6 waves is a whale that can afford to drop 100k rubies whenever they feel like it. Plus those 700 od tools start getting expensive

I can just see it now. You attack and we rake your tools. ROFL. What would be your response to that kind of low act - nuclear I suspect.  We do have standards here in Franks. Bastard acts like that aren't in our nature.

You want to put 20k every time it comes around and still loose 4-5k in the keep? 

Even without being a ruby whale we all get enough event demons etc to do some serious damage.  If I had lesky throwing that at me I would respond equally as retarded and hit him day and night non stop, not a single other person, just Lesky. 

Make it so he has to keep hall points on defense so he cant hit you and if he does, thats when you know you have to hit him again hard to make him spend more rubies to swap it all around.  Tools cost cash and so does swapping hall around, make it so your a fkn expensive target. 

Props to Franks on this one, you do play 99% of the time above board and the 1% of the time its only one person who pushes it and he shouldnt be a reflection on the rest. 

You have 2 ice castas, maybe put wall gems on one casta and CY on the other, that way when you think you can hold you have +40% on the wall and have a shot.....  Dependingon how you hold it you can swap bits out with wall for bits with CY so you have a bit more strength in the keep.  Dont know, I have commited to the firecasta and rake strat myself.

It's not so much an issue with spending, its more that ive grown to respect some people in said alliance. if they take rules off the table, we take much more than a few troops lol

As I said earlier props to Franks on this one lol. 

however fire casta and tool rake is only thing I would ever do with 6 waves incomming unless it was Glen tooled. 

When Glen gets 6 waves then it becomes defendable......  Thats the answer Grey

4 LPB's on the wall and all range troops, is the the Franks standard or the Glen standard ?

try this, use lord of the castle 90/90 and wall bonus 120% all tool places full with chalk or spikes 4 or 5 times depending your level(33%neardefence bonus each) for 6 waves, also burning moat times six. defense forces, 15-20k, defense only left or right depending on attackers units and shields. 30%moat helps also, i have taken down 6wave attacks with this method with reasonable losses about 2700-4500 units dead at courtyard. this was only way for me to withstand 6 wave attacks. take care of that also, that you have more than 450 men at wall...

The fact of the matter is unless you have a high level hall of legends which is set to defensive you cant beat 6 waves (unless the hits crap).


Edit: To specify I'm talking about holding the wall.
