Topic: [302561] Is it fair to ban a player for making a chargeback due to false advetising e.g. Berimond

Do you think its fair that a player suffers a ban for making a charge back for the rubies they bought to help them get to the top of their level in Berimond believing it is going to end as per the instructions given.

I personally feel the person banned has done nothing wrong and has been victimised in this case considering the event should have ended at the weekend (which it did not) only to be carried on for an extra 50 days which yet again changed to finish on Wednesday 9th March.  So technically not only one false advertisement but now 3.

I believe also it is another another false advertisement to pump as much rubies out of you as possible and then tell you it shouldn't of happened, keeping hold of all you have paid for.  Then to take several days to discuss what to do. 

When you make the complaint and do what you should do if you have been shafted by not receiving the goods you have paid for, they issue you with a ban.  Whats all that about.

Will I get banned for this mmmmmmmmmmmmm lets see and personally not arsed

If true, then that is not fair at all.

Goodgame Studios need to be held more accountable for their actions, as does any company that makes a living from taking payment in exchange for anything. If what you say is true then it only further shows their contempt for their customer base. The management come across as petulant children at times.

Well has happened to me today,

i have just now had to cancel my chargeback with paypal to get my account back, but that sick of ggs i am not leaving it and will inform the financial ombudsman as currently they are not being held accountable for there actions and am taking the matter further

absolute disgrace i purchase an offer to not recieeve and you have said i am not recieving because it was a glitch basically, well give me my money back if that is the case.

ggs you have gone to far and this the financial ombudsman will be informed.

Good luck on that one...I feel for you and wish you every success with trying to get your money back. However, you have no leg to stand on in law. You paid for rubies and got them, what you spent those on was your choice. Had you bought a TV, then dropped it out of your 32nd storey flat on purpose, would you expect your money back ?

Thing is he didn't do it, GGS did as it was THEIR game being glitched (don't know much about law, I'm only a child)

i see part of the point but..... if you purchased a tv and only got the remote is that Legal and acceptable?

also what your missing is it wasn't just the rubies i was purchasing it was an offer as well, like i said you wouldnt be happy with, nore is it legal for you to buy a tv to then only receive the remote, and you basically being told like it or lump it, digital goods is no different neva is the law you should get what you purchased.

Of course not, and you would have every right to seek recompense for the missing item. However, it is made clear that when you buy rubies, that is all you are buying. If they were not credited to your account, again, you would be in the right, but this is not what happened.

i hope they do, unfortunately i closed the case in paypal as wudda lost all me men but was clearly stated upon closing it's not the end of it and both financial omdudsman and trading standards will be rang tomorow as even with what they have done to us with berimond is wrong and people should be refunded what they paid, as you can see people used rubies, mine was for both reasons in my dispute the offer issue and berimond to be suspended, yes back on now but clearly stated not the end of it and i won't leave it there as beyond a joke now, and about time they start coughing up for there constant errors. unfortunately if they do they will be suspended like i was, which is a joke.

in past 30 days i have spent over £200, didnt realise i spent that much but have, and buy rubies at least once a week, but that will now cease as final straw with beri and the offer too, as was 1st when ended now second with no hope of getting first back unles i spend rubies which now they can sod off. as last time they have treated all of us like dirt.

are we being correctly compensated or will we be, no were not. Joke so bout time u pay by giving people there money back for a service they have not recieved, as regardless those rubies are to use a service.

think i remember seeing on another thread that he bought it for a horror pack that was on at the same time, and he didnt get the horrors, think this is why he is annoyed

If the horror pack was not delivered then he has a case against GGS. Unless they are right and the two offers cannot run together. How either of you could prove it I don't know.

I stopped buying rubies years ago simply because of the way GGS uses underhand tactics to fleece people. However, I have yet to see evidence of any laws being broken, although there are a few grey areas.

thats it mate proving but not backing down and bout time 1 of us takes some form of action, mostly whats annoyed me the most is supports lie in emails to em. just with beri happening to, that just puts the icing on the cake.

As always we have to bow and take it,  that is what has annoyed me more than anything. if thats the case and not supposed to run together apologise explain that not make me out to be a liar by saying offers don't run together. bout time they cough up and give people there money or rubies back for there screwups.

like with beri, in order to get my first prize like others not just me we have to yet again contact support not just horror issue its the constant issue after issue with the game

That is bad mate really bad, GGE should give you the first prize award and everyone knows it.  you have a screenshot of your position, it would take them 2 seconds to do it. and it would cost them nothing to do it. quite why they wont is frankly beyond me.  As a gesture of goodwill if nothing else if they are afraid of admitting any wrong doing¬!!!

I have never ever known a company that seems so adamant that it has no responsibility ot its paying customers when IT makes a mistake.

sure will get the reward now as found screenshot, for the other issue of offers thats different matter. but one loser here now and thats them as they have lost a rubie buyer, as won't purchase rubies no more. this game in past month as only been playing just over 2 months has gone down hill rapid.

The whole banning somebody for demanding their money back is really shoddy. I was in a situation a few months back where a deal comes up i open the purchase page select the package. Got distracted think the phone went off or something. Come back hit pay and didn't get what the deal offered just regular rubies... Turns out the timer expired yet the screen at the time still showed me I was getting it with the deal. There was no warning or heads up your deal expired they just took the money.

Contacted support they refused to credit what I was owed or refund the money so I took the dispute further and complained to paypal (the service used for payment) because they clearly lied on screen as to what I was getting.

And big surprise when I tell support i've done this "We've credited the missing amount please retract your complaint or else we'll ban your account"....

Shocker...

i have had the same where by the chest vanished no notice no countdown as i was in payment screen,  i got nothing.  and i totally agree blackmail is a particularly ugly tactic
