Essentially, if you're not pushing other teams out of top 20 / top 5 / 1st while boosting, nobody cares.  It's not the principle that you're cheating, as many of them would have you believe, it's that you're taking rewards from them.  

Its called self interest and its normal and good

Tanner, I agree with you most of the time.  On this one however, you are way off.  Those who try hard, like myself, regularly find 300-500k glory hits.  I usually find a few each AT to add to FU's total.  In fact, last time, no one in FU had more glory than myself for the AT except maybe Orel570, both of us busted tail to get glory and it paid off, FU won.  We didn't boost.

This time, BC has boosted so early and obviously, I am not even gonna try to hit anyone.  Not even so much as one hit as it's apparent we can't win.  So yes, we do care.  Yes, BC is stealing the win by dirty playing.  Yes, that affects the quality of the competition.  It's not a competition if you believe in fair play and the other guy doesn't.  GGE has repeatedly come out saying that boosting is not the intent of the Tourney and even moderators have come out swinging against it, but it's hard to fix unless everyone agrees to play fairly.  So I am very glad DT has declared.  I have tons of friends in BC, likeably guys, but it's time they stopped playing dirty. 

It's apparent to nearly everyone that BC is getting a very dirty reputation by these tactics that they use and it's going to cost them very dearly in the long run as they slowly lose allies.  When a real war comes, they won't have many to back them up.  I know I'm certainly less inclined.

I've seen Storm get a legit 1mil glory hit, so he probably just lit up a potato. If you're boosting and only get 500k, then you're pretty awful at boosting.

 I wanna know how Serry just hit 30k troops in nobility contest on these stupid deals. If I were to buy mine 30x and buy 1.5M rubies doing so I would have only gotten 15k troops lol.

I feel like I'm missing something here, because it seems to me that this fuss about boosting only started when boosting alliances started claiming the top ranks in the tourney. So are we arguing about the principle of boosting, or the fact that people are being cheated of their rankings because of it?

Cheating in the AT only started (or seems to have) once GGE introduced these massive amounts of rewards to the tournament.

It used to be a very fun, and competitive event that represented a signal to the server that attacks would be increased during the duration of the tournament. 

Now, with boosting, folks are ruining one of the only honest events left that isn't dedicated to the lower spending players. 

So, folks can use whatever excuse they want to post on here, cheating is cheating, there is no grey area there. You make a choice to head down a certain path, and if you don't orient your map before you reach your destination, you might just fall of a cliff. 

Cudos to DT, and whoever else picks up the torch and delivers server justice.  Call it a collective, call it "regulating", or call it server policing, but society is driven by the governing bodies of themselves.

I think the issue is that everyone is spending their money to try to win.  If people are cheating they are effectively just burning your cash.

Update - Not much of a war with BC, all they doing is hitting lower activity and all we can hit is offense ops. They open or toolburn everything with defenders. Id assume to not waste defense and throw away the win in the cheatfeast.
