With the current blacksmith changes there is pretty much no way to compete in any event without spending a significant amount of cash, so yeah great update!!! Before, even if you didn't spend a lot you had a chance to fight it off. But yeah GG, nicely done, I am sure this will make the game a lot more balanced as most people that don't spend will quit and will only be left with people that spend.
And yeah there is no point being very active anymore so yeah better spend the time somewhere else. I wonder how many people will follow suit.
Just trying to throw out most of the non or not much paying people from the game shouldn’t be the right way. Tell me, where you can find the balance now.

GGS, please understand that this is a game to play for fun and not a stock market where we invest money and see it multiples or disappears.
How do you expect people to score in absence of tools?
How can you expect people to gain coins in this scenario and spend in blacksmith without tools?
This makes the blacksmith pointless/impractical/ incompetent/ineffective /worthless whatsoever you call it!!!
I don’t know what kind of thought process went through these changes or in case if any thought process it went, but whoever suggested has to some kind of genus in making people quit the game.
Moreover, how can you break something which is already working say storm, when it already working fine, you did some changes and now we can’t even open the espionage report at all, if you try to open then the game hangs.
SO STOP SPENDING ON RESOURCES IN GGS WHO ARE WORKING TO FIGURE OUT WAYS TO LOOT MONEY FROM PLAYERS, INSTEAD, TRY TO FIX THE BUGS THAT ARE ALREADY IN MASSIVE QUANTITY. DON’T TRY TO BREAK SOMETHING WHICH IS ALREADY WORKING.

The blacksmith changes are unbelievably... ridiculous. May I ask what the expected outcome is? That everyone starts paying in order to play like they used to before the changes? I guess here is the part where we're supposed to laugh... hahaha...
In case the problem here is solely money, I would suggest that, instead of limiting the options of the non-paying players, to try and motivate them to pay, with better offers, and not force them to pay. But regardless, we should not forget that the game is still "alive" because of non-paying players as well. Cutting them off is not a wise option.
The same goes for Storm Islands.. I do not want to believe that according to them, this is the worth of a month's non-stop work.
And please, do not get me wrong. I am not blaming the extremely helpful mods of the forum, but whoever comes up with these brilliant ideas.
GG WILL LOSS MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF PLAYERS if they keep these blacksmith changes. I spend $20 a month or more on this game. With this update I can't keep up with the other money players and it makes the game not fun. Before we at least stood a chance of defending ourselves before but now it is a pay to play only deep pockets or pointless. So if GG wants to lose most of their small to medium level spenders keep this blacksmith update on teir tools. If not change it back. I have spoke to hundreds of players that all feel the same. So you mark my words this is THE DEATH OF EMPIRE FOUR KINGDOMS IS THIS BLACKSMITH UPDATE. I WILL NOT SPEND ANOTHER DOLLAR TILL THIS IS FIXED !!!!
This is a shame they make this game pay yo win, it was fun befor but unless they change it I wont ever spend money on this game again!

Game is becoming a big pile of kako... We have new players in alliance, which play from 1-6 months, just reached legendary level and are thinking to leave the game... Its sad how devs destroyed the game soo much its basically unplayable... I just enter the game here and there just to preserve my account because i thrown allot of money in it...sad :(

Thanks GGE, In this update there is no way to compete in Events. So only spenders will stay and non-ruby players will quit. And An Active Non-ruby Player Time Will be saved And he can use that time in some other things.
I gave it up since 2 years. No need to complain. Nothing will happen. For me the game ended 2 years ago. There is nothing to do anymore. Wood, stone, oil, glass, ... I have no idea for what I need it. I dont play outers or horizon because I am not a retarded person to start everytime from 0 so I have currency to build my main castle. No way!
I started another game. Its also from 0. No worries with popups. Gameplay gge is 20%. To much crap on your display that you need to click away first.
One of the best updates in years done by GGE Team to permanently shut down the game in future as there will be extremely few players left & revenue generated by game will be far less than what they have to spend to keep the game running.
