Head over Heels?

It's more powerful than God.
It's more evil than the devil.
The poor have it.
The rich need it.
If you eat it, you'll die.
What am I?

Nothing?

A man lives in an apartment on the 10th floor of a building.
Every morning he takes the lift down to the ground floor to go to work.
Every afternoon he takes the lift to go back up to his home but he only rides to the 7th floor and then takes the stairs.
Why?

[846023] RunsWivScissors (GB1) [GB1] :: June 5, 2015, 8:59 p.m.
He is too short to reach a higher button

Why are these words placed in this order?
DEAD, BALL, FEAR, SHOP

[847698] abc0300 (US1) [None] :: June 13, 2015, 5:50 p.m.
A=1, B=2, C=3 and so on.

Dead = 4+5+1+4=14
Ball = 2+1+12+12=27
Fear = 6+5+1+18=30
Shop = 19+8+15+16=58

14 < 27 < 30 < 58

Who makes it, has no need of it.
Who buys it, has no use for it.
Who uses it can neither see nor feel it.

The answer was: Binary.
You can keep things in a bin. And binary is computer language that consists only of 1's and 0's.
"If" a rooster lays egg on top of a triangular roof, what side of the roof does it roll off?

Roosters don't lay eggs... :p

My turn:

Railroad crossing without any cars. Can you spell that without any R's?

THAT, yeah i did it. Whoohoo

What is so unusual about this paragraph?
Gatsby was walking back from a visit down in Branston Hills manufacturing district on a Saturday night. A busy days traffic had had its noisy run: and with not many folks in sight, his honor got along without having to stop to grasp a hand, or talk; for a mayor of city hall is a shinning mark for any politician. And so coming to Broadway, a booming Bass drum and sounds of singing told of a small Salvation Army unit carrying on amidst Broadways night opera crowds. Gatsby, walking towards that group, saw a young girl, back towards him, just finishing a long soulful oration.

2 days ago Peter was aged 5, next year he will be 8. How?

[848518] Mina0o (INT1) [None] :: June 17, 2015, 10:56 a.m.
Hm, I can't think of anything reasonable solution when being born 15th of June so I'll go ahead and pick a day when this riddle starts :p

Peter is born on 31st of December.
If this riddle would be asked on 1st of January it all makes sense:
30/12 2014 (just as an example): Pete is 5.
31/12 2014: Peter turns 6.
1/1 2015: day of the riddle.
31/12 2015: Peter turns 7.
31/12 2016 (next year): Peter turns 8.

If you have one 11 minute hourglass and one 13 minute hourglass, how can you accurately time 15 minutes?

[848519] RunsWivScissors (GB1) [GB1] :: June 17, 2015, 11:09 a.m.
Spot on Mina!! :thumbsup:

Start both together & when the 11 minute one ends you have 2 mins left on the other one, so 2 mins plus 13 minutes is 15. ?

Four men fishing in a boat. The boat turns over. All four men sank to the bottom of the lake & yet not one single man got wet.........How?

[848520] Mina0o (INT1) [None] :: June 17, 2015, 11:14 a.m.
Not entirely correct, Scissors.. As far as I can tell from your explanation you're still only on 13 minutes..

I didn`t start counting till the 11 minute one ran out, so 2 mins of the 13 one plus another full 13 = 15

Ah, now I understand, and it does work out :) My solution was a bit more complicated, but why make it harder than it has to be, eh? :thumbup:

[848523] RunsWivScissors (GB1) [GB1] :: June 17, 2015, 11:23 a.m.
Go for it....lets see compicated way too ^^

[848526] Mina0o (INT1) [None] :: June 17, 2015, 11:34 a.m.
Ah, sure! But I think your solution was better :)

Start both hourglasses.
Immediately turn the 11 minute one again when it has finished.
When the 13 minute hourglass runs out the 11 minute hourglass will have 9 minutes left, so flip it and it will last another 2 minutes.
11+2+2=15

My solution makes most use of the 11 minute one, while your solution targets the 13 minute one..

But back to your riddle:
Four men fishing in a boat. The boat turns over. All four men sank to the bottom of the lake & yet not one single man got wet.........How?

I can only think of a really ridiculous answer but okay..

The four men were all in a relationship with someone. So in fact not one single man got wet.. o0
